In the gym, shaming culture will always be a thing in some form: Curling in the squat rack Taking up multiple machines at once Not re-racking your weights Not wiping down machines etc.

Some bars around me are "private clubs" - where you have to pay like a $2 admission fee to the club. This allows them to get around laws reserved for "public" bars. Specifically, the regulation states that "[o]nly bona fide members and bona fide guests of members of such organizations may consume alcoholic beverages . . . upon the licensed premises." 1 S.C. Code Ann. Regs. 7-401.4(J) (2011). The regulation further provides, "Bona fide guests shall be limited to those who accompany a member onto …

If you're attracted to someone, don't be afraid to convey it. If you want to touch her, do it, if you're thinking about how pretty her eyes are, say it. The biggest problem I've had is the mental filter, now it's just a matter of removing that filter when I'm into someone.

"I'm a nerd," or "enginerd". Own it. Also, you can bring up the fact that everyone is a nerd in their own way.

I don't think movies are the best for exploring real body language. In movies, the actors are told what feelings to express, or their current mood. These things are not immediately apparent in real life, leading to mixed cues, or other types of uncertainty of expression. I agree with the general idea though.

I think going out of your way for someone who reciprocates in some way isn't a bad thing -- but doing it all the time with the idea that it will win someone's heart isn't healthy.

Am I wrong to like it when a woman does that? Being expected to take charge every time gets stale.

Sorry -- if you aren't from the US it is a commercial that shows, for example, someone saving someones life. A person watching asks, "Are you a doctor?" and the person replies, "No, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night".. That's pretty much the gist.

The worst part of humid summers are they humid nights, when you walk outside and it feels like walking into a bathroom after someone takes a shower. Not to mention the smell you acquire because of it as well. -40C? Fuuuuuuuck that. I like winter, but not arctic weather. That's why my target is ultimately the mid-atlantic (Virginia-ish)

I envy your summers, not your winters. When you're below zero in the dead of winter, it's teens at the lowest here. Summers are ass kicking though. Last year, I worked in a lab where the AC wasn't enough to remove all the heat from the people and computers. It would get to be 85+ in there, I almost passed out a couple times.

Come about 1,000 miles south for the summer and see how good you have it. 100 degrees + humidity = swamp-ass in under 5 minutes.

Compleeeetely different situation than waking up and realizing someone is in your house. Granted, still fucked up, but it doesn't compare. If someone was in my dark ass house in the middle of a night, shoot first, ask questions later.

I hear ya... the crazy/completely socially inept people probably drive quality women away from the sites, or make them think every guy that messages them is crazy.

I tried online dating with the idea that people who do work a lot and don't want to meet people at bars would try it, since it is a more passive way to "date". It turns out that any remotely attractive woman on the sites probably are inundated by dudes trying to talk to them, that guys of higher value, but maybe less photogenic, get overlooked or not looked at all.

Away from home usually. It's hard to grow up when you can easily fall back on your parents.

Where do "high-value" women hang out? Bars seem to be the worst place to find them, and dating at work seems odd to me, especially if things go south. Online dating might be better, but if you aren't photogenic, you're screwed.

The fact that he referenced something without a source, and probably would have been better off not even posting a comment? Although, with the super-internet-detectives of reddit, maybe Misanthropical was hoping someone would take the initiative to find it. Your reply just came off as douchey, maybe it's just the lack of sleep that made me read it as douchey.

All I had to do was look at the author's name and read a couple sentences to see where this was going. Also, why is this in MensRights?

I agree with the general idea of this, just have a serious question. For most cases, anyone can go to a court and watch the case, if everyone is anonymous until proven guilty, all cases would be private by proxy, right?
