I asked this because I knew about the research made on this topic but it's interesting how you made the connection effortlessly because it's not obvious at all. There seems to be a relationship between repulsion and ethics. Some even claim that people who are more repulsed by things, have greater ethical sensitivity.

How do you know people can't distinguish disgust form morality?

Old men still date older women (which is what ends up happening in most cases). It's just that they find the younger ones more attractive. And women find men in their 40s/50s attractive because of money, experience and maturity. Females are mostly valued for their appearance because it's a sign of fertility, so once they are no longer fertile, men lose sexual interest in them. But it's mostly an unconscious process. The graphic is misleading though because the desirability starts at 0.3 so it lo…

Yes I do have a type. And that type is mostly conventionally attractive. But I am not attracted to model type of men necessarily. I can appreciate their beauty but I don't find them necessarily attractive.

Not really. I can recognize a model as beautiful but I don't find them necessarily physical attractive. I have a particular type. In the past I even was attracted to a man 20 years older than me. But in this post I kind of mixed beautiful and attractive but to me they don't always overlap

Where do you live? And where do you want to go? What's your type?

I get what you're saying. Maybe if I knew something about them it would change the way I perceive them and rate them

On campus and on public transport. But I live in Portugal and I don't find many portuguese men attractive

Of all ages tbh. I found myself attracted to a 45 year old in the past. I like men of a certain type. Not necessarily models

When I haven't met them yeah. At least they overcame the attractiveness barrier and I would be willing to start a relationship but doesn't guarantee I would maintain it.

Yeah. You're right SMV is not only about looks. I really liked the analogy you gave. Thanks for sharing

Really? That's awesome. O didn't even know that was possible. Thanks for sharing

Sure. But I wouldn't date someone I am not physically attracted to.

Thanks for your insight. You mentioned things I didn't consider. Maybe I should do a little research into it

according to this article apparently domestic violence is common because males who are violent to their partners have more children

I still think it it is a major reason but the other one which I am beginning to think is also decisive is that leaving an abusive relationship is dangerous

What is the burning bed approach?

I am not judging them for staying in those relationships or blaming them for the abuse. I am just stating that the major reason they might be staying is because they have not much better options in terms of prospective mates

Completely agree with you. They know he has great qualities and so they put up with the abuse. I don't imagine them putting up with a low status/ugly/small dick/ beta man

Certainly. But in my view, it is a major reason if not the main

Most women can find a job so they no longer are dependent on their partner and if they are afraid he might kill them, then they can go to shelters

That makes sense. But does not contradict what I said

Of course people react differently to the world around them, but if you had two options, one being clearly better than the other, I am sure not many people would choose the second one.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
