If you don't mind doing so, tell them you have a partner or mention them more when you interact with your colleagues.

It depends on the person. Most men don't reject women for something like that, nor do they all feel inferior when they think about the men their partner has been with. I think many men don't even think about the men who have been part of their partner's life. But, as a personal preference, it's perfectly acceptable.

From what you've said about what's happening in your life, it sounds more like he's the one being mean and inconsiderate. I think it's his responsibility to be there for you during these difficult times, and if he can't understand that for himself, it means he doesn't care about you much or he lacks the capacity for empathy and reciprocity. I don't think it's your fault. And I agree that he's probably looking for a way out because he doesn't want to honor what you agreed upon.

There's something called integrity. A man of integrity will be true to himself and his values regardless of who he's with, and if that person turns out not to be right for him, he won't betray his values by disrespecting her. He'll simply talk to her and end the relationship. So no, there's nothing you can do to make him respect you and stop abusing you because that's just who he is. Everything bad he dares to do, he does because his internal logic and values (or lack thereof) allow him to.

He's definitely not a real man. I'm not sure if what you're describing is part of a dom/sub dynamic, but even so, it doesn't sound like you're enjoying it. Question what benefit you get from being with him and if you really want to stay with someone who behaves like the woman in the relationship.

Why would a wealthy man be interested in an uneducated woman to raise his children? The women in his circles go to university and work for a while until they get married and have children. The best way to be attractive is to create value for yourself in the relational market. This is even more important if you intend to choose a man who is "in progress" because if things don't work out as you hope, at least you have a backup plan of being able to support yourself.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
