8	Joking “insults” are still insults and reveal an LVM. Name calling is never ok. I feel like this can also be a way for them to push your boundaries. My ex started out by picking on me as a “joke” and saying I just didn’t know how to flirt. 19	To the frustrated woman still waiting for him to change: He won’t. An inside peak at their thought process.... I left my LVM a little over a year ago and have struggled on and off since then because he was so nice to me during the breakup. He was like when we first started dating nice to me. I knew it wasn’t indicative of our entire relationship (8 years of emotional and verbal abuse) but this helped it click for me. He didn’t care about my happiness, just that I was leaving.
