You're not going to get a "yes" answer from people who still post in divorce subs. You're especially not going to get a "yes" answer in this, the angriest of divorce subs. But yes, some people do. Enough people for it to be a notable statistic, but still only like 10%ish. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't. You'll have to ask them, who again, are not here. BUT, you should only continue asking if you are already dating your wife again. If you've properly gotten back together and are …

He's definitely incapable of healthy relationships right now, but using a place for venting and having bad thoughts and shitty attitudes doesn't equal real world harm. All he's doing is hooking up and not calling. It's shitty, but like, still a pretty normal thing people of all genders do. Refusing to talk to his daughters is definitely the more harmful thing he mentions doing. Yes, his comments about women are terrible. End of sentence. He needs to get help, hopefully therapy. But uh, so do you…

He's fucked up and has to let go of his rage and fix his attitude about women, yeah. But 1: this is a sub for people in the dark night of their soul, they're wounded and ugly, but hopefully it's transitory and they can heal and their attitudes heal with them. He's been here for a while, but I still hope one day he turns it around. 2: Don't assume toxic people aren't also handsome and charming and successful. That's an easy way to get bitten. Hate can be pretty.

He cut out his older two daughters because during the divorce they tried to help their mother get the house. They've reached out since and he's still icy to them because he refuses to let it go. He still has half custody of his youngest daughter and seemingly a good relationship with her despite how angry he is at all women. Ironically, he's the one keeping himself in this hole because he just can't let it go.

I mean, he's had an angry attitude on here for a few years now. He's like the most consistent man on Reddit. He doesn't call these women back on purpose because he feels that's how he wins. There's a zero percent chance he's ever entertained the idea of a second date, he's way too angry at women to ever enter into a relationship with one. The world isn't black and white. Someone can have toxic ideas about women and treat them disposably and also be able to be charming in person and have sex, and…

The post is about him using women for sex as revenge on all woman because he can't let go of how his ex hurt him. The man has a lot of issues he needs to address, and I really hope he does, but being involuntarily celibate is the opposite of his problem.

This guy? No this guy is exactly what he says he is. He hasn't stopped being 110% pissed off about his ex since he got cheated on. There's no way he's stopped being angry at women long enough to even want a real relationship. He's definitely using them exactly as he describes.

Well then go to church, start meditating, read self help books, ect. Find something. You can't keep being this pissed forever and live a good life. Even if it feels like losing to do so, we all have to let things go, even the worst things that happen to us. Doesn't mean you have to be nice to your ex or put yourself in situations that hurt, but it does mean finding a way to not be pissed off every time you think of them.

So your son pitches in for a gift pool your wife does for you every year and he gets your ex a full sized gift because she doesn't have anyone? Yeah bud, that's just called "you raised a good kid". It might feel a little unfair, but step back and see that it's not your son expressing a preference, it's him doing a kindness to someone who needs it more.

Nothing. This sub is an echo chamber of hurt men who use every opportunity to justify their situation by villainizing women. Unfortunately, these men often end up here and get wrapped up in the rhetoric because the main divorce sub does the opposite, where any suggestion the wife is cheating is lambasted and every divorce where the wife leaves is exclusively the fault of the husband, and any argument to that is severely downvoted. I appreciate the attempt at giving a reasoned counter opinion, bu…

Good for you for maintaining your boundaries. Have you been working on that anger? Are things going okay with your older two daughters? Remember, hating her just burns your energy, not hers, it's better to forget her. Even when she's in front of you.

Oh, I'm not saying you did. I'm just saying you accidentally chose a platform of hurt men who are primed to shoot back when they perceive someone left unfairly. My best wishes for you and your ex going forward. I hope you both can each build a great life while being good coparents for the kids.

These men are also firmly willing to go off to the same extent about women who cheat. And not as consistently, but I'd say 5 days a week would go off on a straight man who had an affair too. It just happens that this sub is all live wires. Most men here are left so they're ready to shoot from the hip about it before they look up.

You are your own man and only you can decide if you're going to move on or give reconciliation a shot. I won't tell you which to choose. But I will say, if you choose to try reconciliation, in your case focussing on the emotional affair is missing the forest for the trees. You were already checked out because you had to be her dad for half a decade. You carried way more than your share of the responsibility and received no appreciation in return. All in all, the affair you describe is mild and s…

He posted this in the marriage sub and there were hundreds of comments before it got closed. If you didn't come from there, why are you in the men's divorce support subreddit?
/r/Divorce_Men20/08/24 09:36 PM

You're not holding anyone accountable. The divorce held him accountable. He had hundreds of replies like yours and no support until that thread was deleted. A torrent of blame isn't and will never be the way to make someone receptive to criticism or introspection. Regardless of gender. And it's not like you're following women across Reddit to tell them that being left or cheated on is their fault.
/r/Divorce_Men20/08/24 09:25 PM

Right, and he's miles away from being in a place where he can hear that, clearly. Following someone from another board to tell them that they're at fault for their divorce and emphasise that their ex is better off isn't going to be helpful.
/r/Divorce_Men20/08/24 09:12 PM

It equates to him feeling used. Which is valid. He's allowed to be pissed and hurt and think that she's awful. And now that she's out of his life, if the worst he's doing is venting on Reddit while he heals, then I don't see a reason to tell him he's grieving wrong.
/r/Divorce_Men20/08/24 09:04 PM

He's definitely not in a better place, hence the anger in the post that's bothering you. He feels used because he spent the relationship supporting her goals and once she achieved them she left. She did not communicate that the relationship was unhappy before she began to pull away and put no effort to fix it. Add to that it's just normal to be angry when grieving. (And he didn't cancel her treatment, he removed her from his insurance)

With four years you might not have to pay alimony at all, or if you will it will be for a short period. Not because of the previous marriage, just because this one was so short.

You are correct, talking to him will be a waste of time. Divorce her and cut her out as much as possible. You're about to be free of her mess, why invite more of it in?

Hey man, I'm not sure you're reading what you wrote the same way I am. Before the affair you spent four years carrying her not only like a husband would, but also like a parent would. You became resentful. The undiagnosed ADHD/Autism may have explained some of her behaviour, but knowing why alone doesn't heal wounds. And while she may have been getting better at pulling her weight, she still was able to be up until 8am every night for weeks. Which means you were still doing more than your share.…

You don't have to be mean, or even go full parallel parenting like others are suggesting, but you need to let her know you can't be here for her about this specifically.

This is a case where you're going to get pretty different answers if you ask here vs asking in gay spaces since "the apps" function differently and more connection is asked of you even for hookups on the straight ones. But some universal advice: Wait those 11 days until he's served, minimum. It'll just make things easier. Especially if he doesn't know the divorce is coming. Make sure you're doing it for you and not as a reaction to him Expect to fuck up and make mistakes, even if everything was …

Pedestals just aren't conductive to a long term relationship. It's good to see a person's positive qualities at the start of a relationship, but if you legit think your partner is better than you and treat them as such they will start doing the same. You want an equal partnership, someone you can feel secure that you're on the same level while still seeing their positives.

My man, you have the right to not be around your ex, but at a certain point, you have to stop dragging that anger around. You can say no to your kid without putting it in the bleakest terms. You can play up that for her, two parties will be exciting, and Daddy's celebration is just for her. You can protect yourself without giving her your pain. Therapy isn't right for everybody, but you should consider it. A place to vent sounds like it would be good for you to let this stuff out.

In general, yeah, people divorce because of lost attraction all the time. Both men and women. There's a billion reasons why people lose attraction, which isn't to say it can't come back if you work at it, but some people don't want to do the work and some do the work and still don't get it back. But Buddy, you're having some sort of mental health crisis right now. You got burned out and left your job and you are spiralling, grasping for any way to propel yourself in a new direction. To understan…

Yes, there are. Especially ones whose husbands cheated. The difference is that often when husbands cheat, they don't leave right away like most wives do, so the women not only get cheated on they have to run the divorce too. So by the time they divorce they're not as devastated because they did the hurting while the cheating husband stuck around before they couldn't take it anymore. The divorce subs tend to show more hurt men, but you go the the cheating/betrayal subs and the gender split is alm…

Honestly, in this case, I find that especially true. The woman never had a long term relationship, so she was single for 20 years. Which even at 100+ is a lower average than most guys here net post divorce. And then she met him and has been, according to him, a great partner for over 2 years. This is what she wants now. He was in a fifteen year marriage, even if the bedroom was dying, he probably had more sex than her overall. Him, and seemingly a lot of posters, are misdirecting the pain of the…
