I never pay for anything and I am definitely not using anyone when they offer to cover everything. The vast majority of women will split bills it’s just that the men who are complaining about paying don’t want them specifically. These guys want the women who want more. Why would they choose you over someone else who can offer the same and more?

I’m 26 dating a 36 year old

Why does it matter? I’m 26, 127 lbs and have black hair. I’ve had one long term relationship when I was 20 and just stayed celibate after bc I didn’t have a boyfriend until now. In my culture, hooking up and casual relationships aren’t common. I think most guys WOULD provide for their dream girl but some guys are just naturally generous with everyone. I’m about a 5 (some people find me more attractive and others might think I’m less attractive)

Never had a fuck boy phase. 1 long term bf and stayed single until I met my current one (in my culture celibacy is pretty normal unless you’re married or in a long term relationship) I’m not a Victoria secret model (at most a 5) but I take care of myself and appearance. there’s not a man on planet earth who is physically hot enough to have me sleep with him quickly. Not offering to pay on dates is unattractive to most attractive women. I’m not even that attractive but I doubt a women twice as be…

This is hilarious. No man on EARTH is hot enough to me to risk sex on the first date.

I don’t think I’m physically attracted to any man based on his looks so I think I worded it wrong. I mean he wasn’t conventionally attractive like people say is important. I wasn’t physically attracted to the “attractive one” either but was pointing out he was more conventionally attractive (challenging the idea that hot men are the most successful)

Yeah I’m not trying to be condescending by describing their looks. I’m trying to paint a picture of what a lot of people seem to care about like height and looks. I find the guy I’m with very attractive physically now. Also I don’t think generosity is always measured by how well off you are. Some of the wealthiest people I know are extremely cheap. He doesn’t spend money on extravagant gifts or anything. Just takes care of necessities

Yeah that makes sense. I would say I’m attracted to his personality since he took things slow with me (didn’t escalate or push me to do anything) and was very gentlemen like (kissing my hand and opening doors etc) I admire his intelligence but I find it a bit intimidating since we are so different intellectually and he’s much smarter than me. Luckily he doesn’t talk about his work with me otherwise I might have a hard time understanding and staying engaged in the convo (you’re right) I think I s…

What’s your opinion on my physical preferences changing after being provided for? I’m not sure how to word that…what I mean is that I really do find him attractive physically now but that’s after spending time with him and feeling cared for. He wasn’t ugly by any means but just not conventionally attractive. I love his look now and his “nerdyness” and kinda see the second “conventionally attractive guy” as someone I’d never date. I don’t want my date to be prettier than me.

I don’t understand the pay off for a woman to have sex with a “hot guy” maybe bc I am so worried about my own appearance it feels like competition to me. Like attractive men make me insecure. Even if they were providers I think I’d still be uncomfortable. Like why would I want someone with Abs when I’m plushy myself?? I think some women do sleep with guys based on their looks but they’re usually pretty young and immature or very old and don’t care about being provided for (they want to feel youn…

At this point, I do love him so I wouldn’t just leave if he couldn’t provide. Since I’m a low earner myself I don’t think I would be attracted to a man who made me pay for things since it would add a lot of stress on my life. I wouldn’t mind helping him but I wouldn’t feel cared for if I had to pay for both of us. I’d feel uncomfortable. I guess maybe the equivalent to that could be me gaining a bunch of weight and not caring about myself and expecting him to feel attracted to me.

If he was getting by but still trying to be a provider then I would still feel cared for. He’s not rich by any means and doesn’t spoil or anything but he takes care of necessities. If I needed to supliment that temporarily I wouldn’t mind at all. I guess what I want to emphasize is that at worst I wouldn’t have been AS attracted right off the bat if he asked me to pay but I definitely wouldn’t sleep with the attractive guy based on his looks. Not saying women don’t just sleep with men they find …

Is he though? He’s dated a lot and has never really been single for more than a year. I kinda believe him based on his personality (been with him for almost a year) I wouldn’t have had sex with the “attractive man” since good looking men make me feel insecure. I went out with the attractive man mainly bc he was more insistent.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/23 09:44 AM

Maybe? I don’t like gifts and material possessions so much as I like feeling cared for. If guy number two bought me a gift I wouldn’t have felt more attracted to him.

6’1 is still tall in my opinion, but I agree with height making a big difference. My guy has a big gut but he has a generous and gentle personality so I’ve come to adore it lol.

I’m dating a bigger guy (obese but 6’3 and he looks great to me) a lot of his friends are bigger as well and are married to thin, attractive women from what I can tell. I don’t think weight has much to do with things as long as the guy is financially better off and is on the taller side.

Yeah it’s his ultimate fantasy of being in a position where he can choose between two women. Most men can’t even find ONE woman who’s interested, good luck finding several to pick and choose from lmao

I can’t wait to turn 30 and have men leave me alone! Oh wait men would crawl for a crumb of attention from a woman at any age lol. He can say whatever he wants, but his reality is far more tragic. Thankfully he and nearly all men will never be in a position to choose between the two. Even men with status can’t just pick and choose who they want. Women still do the choosing.

I worked alongside a photographer as a stylist since we had became good friends after my photo shoot. In less than a year he would start escalating his predatory behaviour and was super handsy. As I was leaving his apartment one day after helping him choose client photos, he tried to kiss me. I immediately hurried myself out the door after making an excuse to be home quick. I’m against having a fwb since it rarely ever benefits the women in the arrangement. When I was younger and more naive, I had a fwb that was more of an ideal scenario. He paid for everything when we went out and would take me out on some fun domestic trips. Sex wasn’t common (like once a month and on my terms) and It was more about me than what he could get for the least amount of effort possible, which is definitely NOT the norm or what most men are looking for in terms of “casual dating.” I’d …

Cold approaches are a NO from me. If a man is approaching you for your looks alone he’s too shallow and immature in my opinion. Someone striking conversation with you as your both waiting in line or at a bar, conference, sharing a table is different. Of course attraction is important and a driving force, but a stranger going out of his way to cold approach me in public will always be shut down.

Not to sound harsh but in what world is 50-70$ expensive to make an impression with a beautiful woman? Ive spent $70 on a girls night out and have that saved up for occasions when we all get together. Unless this guy is going on several dates a week it’s really pathetic that he can’t afford to wine and dine a woman. I don’t understand why anyone would date someone cheap. I’m convinced most men don’t vet for compatibility and are only concerned with looks. I’m someone who doesn’t like texting so someone texting me throughout the day would be a turn off. I’ve had to drop guys bc they couldn’t stand me not answering them right away. If he actually cared about compatibility he wouldn’t have wasted your time. Good on you for walking away.

Who in the fresh hell dresses up at home? Waxing and shaving is a pain in the ass but if he’s so uptight about his preferences why not offer to pay for a full package of laser treatments $$$ and see if she was interested in that? Oh and spa treatments? Mani / pedis and full body massages. Why not get her a $500 gift card to Sephora and see if she’s interested in that? If she’s not interested leave her alone. Second this. Had a cop tell me I would be ruining a man’s life if I came out with my sexual assault. That he completely “understood” what I was feeling since he had a wife and daughter. Men like to pretend women use them for free food as a way to cope for being rejected after the first date. Imagine getting ready, spending another hour or longer with a stranger you don’t even like for a free meal. Worst gold digger ever.

Women are conditioned to empathize and forgive so it’s not your fault. You can definitely learn to be ruthless you just need to avoid second guessing yourself. Men do not feel grateful when you give them second chances. They take it as a sign that they can get away with anything. Always remember this! It took me a while but It has helped me tremendously.

100% this. Men do not think like women. The only time I have ever had my point taken seriously is when I gave them radio silence. No paragraph or level of discussion will make a difference. LVM don’t do better the second time around, they don’t rise up to a challenge or make up for their mistakes. They lose any respect for you once they know you won’t leave.

I wish more women understood the sheer power they hold by leaving men after the first sign of disrespect. It’s hard especially when you’ve invested time and shared positive experiences with them, but you are always better off walking away. Never argue or waste more time on someone who disrespects you. Men lose respect for women who stick around and put up with abuse anyways. Don’t be that girl. Walk away or block / delete.

The thing is, she’s not even asking for anything other than what she’s actually losing at work. She’s not asking for enough honestly, and how does he expect to go 50/50 with childbirth? One of the most painful and dangerous experiences a woman can go through. Where is his contribution here?

I get turned off very easily and really can’t imagine a man blindsiding me after 3 months of knowing him. I know that some are very good at it and will, but it’s why I’m glad we encourage every woman to be ruthless in our vetting process 1) Don’t ignore icks and yellow - red flags 2) Pay attention to the way he talks about women and women’s issues. I’ve heard men argue that lying about being on birth control is a form of rape but these same men think paying for consent and visiting escorts is totally fine and a non issue. Suddenly informed consent, free from coercion, doesn’t count when referring to women’s bodies.

If men are this terrified of being “baby trapped” they can always get a vasectomy while always using condoms as backup. The chances of you being baby trapped after 1) communicating before sex, 2) Having a vasectomy AND wearing a condom is so non existent it’s slim to none.

He thinks it’s his looks that keep him single but the same women who rejected him would 100% do the same after the surgeries. Seriously, when has a woman ever looked at a painfully average man and thought to herself, “if only he had bigger cheekbones :(“ Stop listening to the manosphere and start listening to what women want. Male validation really means nothing so “beautifying” yourself for it is pointless and a waste of time / resources. Like makeup? Try investing more into skincare and keeping your skin feeling healthy and fresh. Workout so you can feel strong and feel more comfortable in the clothes you like. Men get laughed at one time in middle school and spend their entire lives hating women. This shit happens to us and we move forward treating men as individuals. I think the issue is that people have what they think is the bare minimum and what should naturally exceed that as high value. My bare minimum IS high value through and through. Being a great partner who goes above and beyond is high value but also the bare minimum every woman deserves. Keanu could easily be having yacht parties on his holidays, but from what we can see, a lot of people admire how he treats women since he was a teenager. Being high value is the bare minimum for anyone bringing children into this world. Can you name a single man who you believe deserves children of his own? What those traits look like and why it would make him exceptional and not the bare minimum for a pregnant woman? Men need to be vetted their entire lives and can change the second they’re on their death bed. All of his positive hv traits are bare minimum but are very valuable to me. HVM will meet and surpass the bare minimum. Not everyone on this sub is in their early teens and twenties and I’m not sure why you’re bringing up his looks, the man is old and has been for a long time. He doesn’t “brag” he shuts down comments and adores his wife. He has status but doesn’t abuse / leverage it to pursue a rotation of women. He financially supports her and provides her a comfortable lavish life. Similar to Keanu he’s just a really great example of what a man should be like. Do we know him personally? Obviously not, but he’s HV in a lot of ways. Admiring good behaviour is fine I don’t care if he’s a celeb.

These are the same guys who spend their lives terrified about being baby trapped when it’s entirely avoidable. Get a vasectomy, wear a condom or both Avoid random hookups with strangers and where inhibitions are down Communicate beforehand But no no no it takes all the excitement away. Women don’t have to be initiators but there ALWAYS needs to be Enthusiastic consent. Always. The rest rings true though. Totally agree and wish I met him sooner so I didn’t waist my time. I find it hard to gauge someone over text? I like first impressions made in person or can usually have a better idea by a phone call. I’m not skinny and this guy was commenting about how “athletic” I was. I know how to dress myself well to accentuate curves. I just knew he’d be the type of dude to notice cellulite and have a problem with it. They definitely pose as moral providers over women to reel potential converts in. “You never have to work a day in your life…” except I will be in every other possible way. How dehumanizing is it to ask your husband permission to leave the home? Or for pocket money because I have no means to support myself? Consent doesn’t matter and it’s a woman’s duty to serve her husband or be cursed.

I’m so glad to hear you found yourself out of the religion. It is very misogynistic at its core and only perpetuates violence towards women. Men are entitled to sex, it’s their “right” over us. Child brides are justified if theres consent from the father. Speaking of consent, there is no such thing. Silence is accepted and victim blaming is rife. Women are seen as infants who can’t do anything for themselves and then there’s the whole 72 virgins in the afterlife none sense.

Funny thing, I had a Muslim boy pursue me in hopes I would convert over several months but….after doing my own research I decided that Islam was not as peaceful as it is portrayed in secular countries. Everything revolves around sex and it nurtures purity culture. The biggest issue I had was that the concept of marital rape did not exist. It is your “duty” and “obligation” to have sex with your husband and if you don’t - you’re cursed until morning. The concept of rape itself is also very skewed…

Men of colour tend to have some degree of internalized colorism going on. They usually always end up with someone from their own background, because they know it’s what they are most compatible with. (Most brown men know that white women don’t find living with their parents attractive let’s be real) so they settle down with a girl from their own culture when the parade is over. It’s fine but there’s an extra layer of vetting involved that you have to be aware of. If he mentions he likes “petite” or “submissive” women you RUN. If he stereotypes you into a box then you also RUN. Another good tip is see how he treats women who are not like you. Men of colour tend to all have internalized colorism to some degree or another. White men who only date women from Asian cultures are a red flag as well

Honestly I would just stay away from them as much as possible. I haven’t met a single one, even the “nice ones” here still fetishize white women. They will act high value until they find someone new or when they’re ready to settle down and act lukewarm towards a woman from their own culture. I’m glad you’re away from that!

Brown men will salivate and fetishize over any blonde no matter what she looks like. It’s more apparent with guys from India but it’s still very obvious with the guys born in the west too…. Dark skinned men tend to have a lot of internalized racism that comes out when they are around WOC….a lot of them see light skinned women as trophies. It’s pretty sad for both ends honestly

Oh it definitely is. As for the guy you’re seeing, it could be just performance anxiety. He could be completely comfortable and into it but could easily be overthinking without you noticing. If you mention how you like this and that and he doesn’t make an effort the next time you’re in an intimate setting, then it’s a dealbreaker. The worst sex I ever had was with my ex bf who body shamed me during it. It was my first time, I was naive to not end things right there, and I was horrified!

If he is a virgin by choice then that’s an entirely different thing. Some men do want to wait for something more serious. On the flip side (if he’s been substituting with porn) I’ve heard so many accounts of guys who were previously virgins resent their now girlfriends because they want to “experience” more sexual encounters.

Isn’t it common sense though? Women have more options and are usually more selective when they are getting hundreds of potential options a week. How does a guy even get his foot through the door if he’s offering a low effort date that he expects her to pay for? There are so many women out there that don’t have these expectations but many guys do not want THOSE women. They want the woman who’s more attractive and high value. The ones that resort to manipulation are basically wearing a big ol’ sign around their necks that say “look, Im not very attractive” which is why they feel the need to pull tricks. Most guys who subscribe to the concept of picking up vulnerable women aren’t having much sex in the first place. It’s more of a game to them. This is true with most men in my experience. It can start off as trying to convince you about changing your mind over something, not accepting your no for an answer, and then it can progress into the bedroom and become even more abusive. I only started lifting myself up after hitting rock bottom so the only way out was up ⬆️ I would encourage women not to wait for that moment in their lives and just start as soon as possible. If you’re passive and shy, take baby steps. Say no more often…

lol that reminds me of a post on Reddit where this uggo was complaining how easy women have it on dating apps. That the only matches he had were with “ugly women” and he thought he deserved waaay better…. No you don’t deserve shit. If you have a shit personality, are physically unattractive, and have nothing to offer, why would ANYONE want to date that?

What a loser. This is how a lot of men view sex, as something to DO to women, not with. Also I know that sub, and what they talk about is downright predatory. Literally saw a post the other day from a “Pick up expert” about how sex hungry women are and to just keep going and ignoring her boundaries bc deep down she wants it!!!

Exactly and they are telling on themselves. I hear the “morning after regret” bs all the time…No one is regretting consensual sex. When you’re coerced, pressured, rushed and manipulated you are definitely gonna regret that!!

Don’t these guys feel super embarrassed having to resort to xyz tactics in order to get what they want? Like how repulsive and unattractive do you have to be to resort to manipulation…just be attractive and likeable guys it’s not THAT hard… When a guy listens to pick up artists for advice on women he’s literally wearing a sign that he’s a loser who has no attractive qualities or respect for himself and others

How a man reacts to rejection and disagreements is a huge one for me. I’ve had guys who seemed HV until we disagreed about something. LVM can’t stand being rejected or disagreed with.

I haven’t seen any hostile comments on the thread just genuine concerns and opinions from people who were confused. Thank you to the mods who have kept this place clean and safe from male lurkers. I will be following the other sub as it aligns more with my current state of affairs, so thank you for clarifying and making that distinction! I think if the goal is to make this sub more about strategies and vetting, having flairs like male depravity is just inviting more users to vent and showcase LV…

I agree. I don’t see anything wrong with encouraging women to think more critically about these things. This can pertain to dating since men have skewed ideas of what is real and what isn’t. Shaming is one thing, but being challenged about what is normalized (full on invasive face and body modification) can’t really be a bad thing….as someone who has done plenty of procedures I advocate against it.

I am new but figured FDS was a safe place for women who are interested in dating (tips, vetting strategies) as well as for those content with being single for the time being. My choice in staying single isn’t a forever thing or maybe it could be I’ll never know for sure. I feel that this is a great place for both sides of the coin and learning to be comfortable with the idea that you don’t need to date or find a HVM in order to happy (considering how rare they are this day and age..) I try to block out my old “pickme” self since it’s just so cringey and makes my stomach turn at what I put up with for a LVM. I was in college and barely making ends meet and was out 2,000 in less than one year of supporting him. He did not care when I ended things but came crying back when he realized nobody wanted his ass lol. Thank god I grew up and found better and know better. I am so sorry for what you had to deal with and the “well he was good to ME” comment is the most hurtful and common in these situations. In many instances, people are uncomfortable with the reality of things and would actually prefer to A) stay ignorant (pls don’t tell me! He would never…” ) or B) avoid responsibility and create their own narrative to avoid losing “friendships” barf. My friend was a pick me who I’ve known for years. And then when women come out with their experiences they cry about us reaching and being extreme (telling on themselves) Like how hard is it to get enthusiastic sober consent? LVM/NVM are so undesirable that instead of becoming better people they find ways around it to satisfy themselves (losers)

Sorry for posting this and bringing up any painful memories for anyone, not my intention! This is extremely normalized in my culture (East Indian) for guys to fuck around with girls in the west, while simultaneously looking for a bride in their home country (bc they want a traditional woman who will basically be a second mother to them) They want someone who has no standards, will do EVERYTHING for them and never leave/divorce no matter what (unless it’s on the man’s terms…)

Exactly and it makes me sick to my stomach. The same guy who sexually assaulted me acts like a total saint in front of women he finds attractive. How a man treats women he’s not attracted to is sooo important and underrated. For them, unless we’re attractive, we’re not even considered human beings in their eyes

Yeah my first boyfriend (now ex) would ALWAYS have something to say about my appearance. My shoulders were too broad, I shouldn’t wear cropped shirts, and i was too flat. I internalized it and I still deal with bits of self doubt even today. Guess what he looked like? Short, scrawny, rude and had no sense of style. Once I left the relationship I realized how many guys would trip over backwards to get a date with me lol. I always put effort in my appearance and walk with confidence. These losers …

They are laughably delusional. I’ve never met a single woman THAT entitled. A lot of women grow up thinking they’re never enough, told by media that we’re not good enough, skinny enough, perfect enough, and it becomes internalized. The ugliest, fattest, meanest guys with no ambition or goals have the HIGHEST standards. Ask a guy what his dream woman is like and then ask him if that woman pictures him as her dream man. Watch their worlds shatter lol

In my experience they just don’t care and their end goal of banging hot women is all that matters to them. Men praise themselves for finding ways to manipulate, cheat and lie to women in order to sleep with them because their personalities are literal dog sh!t and no one wants to associate with a loser who won’t work on himself. I’ve told guys off about how pathetic they are and they literally don’t care if they get what they want.

I agree with this. Money works as a silencer, not a way to buy consent. The girls can’t complain if they’re being silenced and that doesn’t seem like free will to me!!

Men would have to act right to even get close to a woman’s body. They would have to WORK and PROVE themselves worthy to access us. Scrotes are gonna think this is toxic as if having standards before being intimate is a bad thing??? No one can “withhold” or weaponize sex, it’s not something that can be given. It’s a MUTUAL experience you’re not owed shit for being born a male.

It’s never empowering. Also men do not care if they are literally paying for consent. It’s abuse and nothing less. I used to be friends with a guy who hired escorts and before I cut the friendship off I asked him why he would sleep with someone who didn’t want to sleep with him in the first place (ie, buying escorts) he just shrugged and said it’s no big deal. They genuinely just don’t care and have the biggest egos on top of it. I’m so glad I don’t talk to him anymore 🙂 imagine paying for conse…

I used to pay for dates and go 50 / 50 NEVER AGAIN 🤮 The amount of time it takes me to get ready, look good, make sure I have a nice outfit to wear...The least he could do is pay for a meal? Looking beautiful takes time and money, I’m not wasting my time on someone who expects 50/50 when I’m already doing way more than him

So gross omg. Never give a porn sick deadbeat a chance. If he tries to argue about how normal it is, drop his ass. Men who watch porn don’t know how to engage in normal intimacy and need to continue pushing their limits with more depraved shit in order to get off. I would rather be single and happy then ever date someone with PIED and sick fetishes in his 20s lol.

Grown men who play video games are a major Ick for me but that aside - A friend of mine worked at a game store in town and she always felt uncomfortable working there. She complained to the manager and he clearly didn’t see a big deal so she quit. Guess who hit up her phone and asked her for a date after she quit? That’s right, the manager LOL. What a degenerate
