I sense it's because your wife thinks the same as her mom and that's her way of saying it by not really saying it. If that's the case, I'd definitely let her go. A woman who thinks it's "weird" or "weak" for her man to cry for things like his son/daughter being born or a relative passing away is sick. Decades of indoctrination portraying women as 100% virtuous and perpetual victims seem to work very well. Only solution I see is to leave the West.
