Not sure if that'd explain his family's disdain though.

Should be alright, we have a lot of mutual friends and her reputation is solid!

She's not interested, this is a hard next. Also I don't know why there are so many "don't shit where you eat" comments, it's just a (likely unpaid) TA role. Don't worry, you'll be fine!

One-itis aside, having someone fund your business in return for 50% of the profit is not a bad deal from a business perspective. You can really go somewhere with this.

It's not the "problem", I'm just trying to describe the difference between an environment where women see you as a sexual being versus an environment where they don't, in order to help illustrate the challenges asian males face in western countries.

This x1000. I'm full on Chinese but also very fit, gainfully employed with an awesome job, pretty funny & confident etc etc. I had no problems pulling women when travelling in Asia and studying abroad in Singapore because they actually see you as a potential suiter. When I returned to the states though, the story was completely flipped - women don't even look at me twice when it comes to being a potential sexual partner, not unless I show some strong interest and make active effort in pursuing. …

Probably not the best subreddit to ask this in, but the best thing you can do as a young person with little to no experience is to: Network and constantly meet professionals Contact a recruiting firm

this is awful advice based on bro-science at best and has nothing to do specifically with OP's problem

Everybody's nervous when the stakes are higher, you don't give a shit if you get rejected by girls who you aren't attracted to because who cares if you're not going to date them. Girls you're attracted to though, you know if you screw up they're not gonna want to stick around and you're gonna get all sad and shit.
