I’m getting the feeling that English isn’t your first language! You’re going to have to do some thinking to get that last one because it was actually quite a zinger. Find the definition of ironic (hint: don’t take Alanis Morisettes bait!)

I don’t find that remotely ironic! It’s not really strange at all.

Point proven. Good luck developing as an individual. Hopefully your just a young person. Try to keep an open mind when discussing things. Respect everyone. Try to be a good person. If you do not agree with someone they are not an enemy. I used to do this to people when I was younger. You will mature out of it when your ready to listen and have a conversation!

I can understand why you think that, unfortunately the answer is something you are not going to like. It’s actually what is plaguing the entire world right now. Here’s the problem, you are deeply unimaginative, you believe anyone who holds a different opinion to you is disingenuous, unthoughtful and malicious, and that the conclusion you have drawn to an incredibly complex issue that has no real obvious solution ha been solved by you, or more likely by the 3 podcasts and two journalists you foll…

I have around 2012. It was pretty bad. There was a lot of the stereotypical weak arguments being made that still exist and a lot of general acceptance of bad post modern ideas. I am specifically speaking how it is being used politically but the entire purpose of many of the programs is to be activists. How can you have a program that can be taken seriously if you think GE end justifies the means? There is no attempt at finding truth. Only pursuing goals.

He argued that your character is defined by your actions, not your skin colour, race, religion, sex or any other shallow identifier that clumps people into large categories that aren’t necessarily connected.

I took a class and University and didnt hate it but reflecting back on it now , it wasn’t genuinely bizarre.

I disagree. I think I’m. Compassionate person i just believe that obsessing over race and gender haven’t helped our society. They have helped divide it. Martin Luther King was right.

If something is “mainstream” on Tumblr in 2008, it is not mainstream. I’m describing it as a political tool. But I think it is useless for whatever purpose it thinks it serves as well.

I’m not suggesting it is new, only irrelevant.

For younger people who we’re using websites like Tumblr perhaps but it wasn’t mainstream at all. It will go out of fashion because it is no longer relevant and it is also just so wrong in so many levels, and so absurdly bad as a problem solving framework.

It isn’t new but it also wasn’t popular. It certainly had little to no mainstream popularity.

My prediction is that it was a political fad that arose as a direct consequence of Trump. A dramatic over-compensation of bastardized left wing ideals to combat right wing politics. I believe within 3 years people will return to their senses and we can all put this nonsense behind us.

That’s no what OP said at all. He was making an argument that the men should make more because they played longer. You’ve just tacked on that point after the fact. You’re not wrong of course but that’s just not what OP was arguing.

This logic is as stupid as the women from the World Cup logic. You don’t get paid by how hard or how long you work. You get paid by how much money you generate.

Show me the point in the arguments I've had with the people on this sub where anyone made any attempt at a valid or thoughtful argument. It has mainly just been people calling girls cunts. Listen I'm as sensitive as to any of this crap as you are. Obviously I hit a nerve with you here just like you hit one with me. I haven't seen any attempt here at anyone making an argument, just assuming that the girl was in the wrong and had it coming. The video does not provide evidence of this. SOmebody say…

I don't care about changing the culture. You can't reason people out of positions they didn't reason themselves into.

I don't care that it is a woman. It is an overreaction. It wouldn't matter if he threw an apple at a man, a women or a child it would be a gross overreaction. I have come here often and watched videos and I always thought it was a justice porn type subreddit. So when someone submits something where I don't believe justice has been served, but rather the opposite I speak up. I'm sorry I didn't see the part where th girl was being a cunt. I really must have missed it. The base of this sub-reddit s…

The girl did something minor. The boy did something major. It's not rocket science here.

I must have been. All my friends came from pretty stable family's, good parents, healthy relationships. Not sure how that is a bad thing.

Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. We don't know anything about the social context of this but we do know the boy is obviously stronger. SO he would have the power imbalance in his favour. Repetition: Bullying behaviors happen more than once or have the potential to happen more than once. We have no evidence at all whether this has been a prolonged episode between these two individuals. Nor do we know who had be…

Yes I am. If you're reaction a simple problem is a violent and potentially very dangerous action then I think the judgement is merited. I work with kids for a living and when I see things like this I get very concerned. What if instead of an apple that was a baseball or something harder. That was a reactionary decision. It seemed almost entirely thoughtless.

Jesus Christ you didn't even read it. Nothing in that video relates to what your source provides you lazy bastard. Ironically by that definition the guy was the bully.

In what sense? That I have never had the pleasure to be around someone who is violent for the sake? Maybe I have had the privileged to live in a place where people are better at decision making then this. I get it that it's a kid but it is an incredibly inappropriate reaction to the situation. Jordan Peterson has some really good lectures on hyper aggression in young males. Yu should check them out.

Bullying someone? That to you is bullying someone? With the entire video we are left with virtually no context. She nonchalantly throws an apple at a guy and it rolls off his back. How is that "bullying"? Every time someone does something to you you don't like they aren't bullying you. I think you could seriously hurt someone throwing an apple at their head, that hard, from that distance.

Just read some of the posts. If it's a little to real for you, you may want to reconsider your philosophy of women.

Or you know, you could hold onto the apple? There are 100 different ways that you could address that situation. My point is that he choose the one that would makes you most concerned about his ability to make choices. Fair everybody needs boundaries but we are not dogs. We are separated from the other animals because humans specifically have come to understand that our communities can transcend petty, ridiculous violence.

That is a very unhealthy reaction to what she did regardless of who threw it first. Giving someone a concussion because they threw an apple at your back is not a suitable trade off.

There isn't a number. It's common sense. If someone does something to you not to inflict pain but because they are playing then you don't retaliate in a way that is intentionally violent. This is basic human psychology. One of the most obvious signs that a child is going to have a hard time in their social life is when they do not understand how to "play" with people. When animals are playing they do not try to hurt one another. It is a great way to get exercise and learn basic motor functions a…
