Equality does matter. Roles are more equal within the household than they have been over the past 40 years. That's a great thing. I just think it's unrealistic to expect both parents to put in the same amount of hours week after week in every household. There will probably always be a small difference. I don't think 4 extra hours at work per week is what's making men afraid to have children.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/11/20 07:37 PM

That's an extra 4 hours, yes, but it's mostly spent at work. A majority of childcare and household chores are still done by women. You can say that mowing the lawn is harder than doing laundry, but how often does the lawn need to be mowed? Household chores have to be done every day. What I'm not understanding is the modern man’s obsession with making everything obsessively equal. Women are working and raising the children. So are men. If you're going to nickel and dime a marriage like it's a job…

I agree! Men don't think about the times when kids are sick or need to go to doctor's appointments. I've never heard a man say that he's choosing a place to work specifically because it's close to his child’s daycare. I hear women say it all the time. It's because men usually don't take on that responsibility. Your second point is very true. You have to be careful about who you have sex with.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/11/20 07:12 PM

Huh? I looked through the infographics and I didn't see anything that suggests men are miserable for having to carry more responsibilities in the household than they did in the past. What I did see is that dual-income households have been on the rise for the past few decades. I also saw that mothers are still doing a majority of the childcare and housework whereas men are contributing more financially. That's to be expected honestly. It seems like you're projecting. I think men are afraid of get…

I’ve watched a few of her videos. Yes, she has some things right. Men don’t view our degrees the same way we view theirs. This doesn’t mean that they aren’t important though. People tend to marry within their race, socioeconomic status, and education level. This is backed up by years of marriage research. I dislike her approach because she doesn’t use statistics or facts. I think her videos could be harmful to impressionable young women who couldn’t be bothered to look up the truth.

You’re being a little hard on her. Her kid isn’t in danger as far as we know. Sometimes it takes a while for people to leave these types of situations. I just hope she makes the best decision for her peace of mind in the end.

This was the case with my first serious boyfriend. He loved that I was a virgin, coerced me into sex, and then got upset because I didn’t know what I was doing. Like... make it make sense.

I agree with you. Idk why I’m like this though because my upbringing wasn’t turbulent. Maybe dating a boring man is the move lol. Not so boring that he doesn’t have any hobbies or passions. But boring enough that he doesn’t bring any unnecessary drama or stress.

I don’t think your standard is unrealistic in this case. It’s one thing if a man sets aside an hour a day to play his favorite game (I knew a man like this). It’s another thing if it’s his entire life. I say that you should avoid specific types men if your intuition says so.

One point that really stuck out to me was #2. Comparing new men to f*boys from the past. I’ve realized that I have to completely reconstruct my vetting process because it has proven faulty time and time again. Not to mention, I suffered from low self esteem. I’m in therapy now and working on it. Because of that, I can’t look for the same things I used to think I wanted. I also like that she pointed out the dangers of having too many things on your checklist. I try to limit myself to a few non-ne…

Saying someone fucks with you “the long way” just means that they are ride or die. It doesn’t have any sexual meaning that I’m aware of.

We are. It’s so strange to me because most women will never develop “manly” muscles, even with regular exercise. We really need to take men’s ideas about our self care with a grain of salt. They don’t know what they want lol

I told my ex about the realities of childbirth and the fact that I wouldn’t be able to have sex for 6-8 weeks. This was all hypothetical since I was not pregnant (thank God). We did discuss marriage and children often though. He acted like it was the worst thing he had ever heard! I had to remind him that my vagina could rip to my anus during labor and he was still more concerned about his dick lmao. I feel sorry for whoever ends up with him.

That’s a great point. A $50 gold band is much better than a cheap $12 ring that pretends to be a $1200 ring.

So true. Ive been saying for years that I want a sapphire as my stone. Now I want a diamond 😂 but still, the setting matters sooooo much. I can’t believe women are out here are accepting (and sometimes asking for) rings that won’t last long. It’s even more trash that men are willing to buy these cheap rings to propose. It’s not materialistic to want a nice one. I will say that there are exceptions for couples that don’t have a lot of money. They usually end up replacing the cheap ring down the l…

Right. Talk about a lack of priorities. Men in the past knew that their main goal was supposed to be working to build up wealth and stability for their families. His main goal is lifting lmao Not saying that men in the past were perfect, but it’s crazy how times change.

That doesn’t make sense. I personally wouldn’t date a cop, because that sounds stressful, but whose to say that all cops support this kind of behavior (rape)? This post isn’t dating advice. Just another reminder of men that suck. We have enough of that in this sub already.

Yep that’s what I do. Once, a man showed a pic of his family to me and I said they were cute. He then said that if he would have met me at work first then that could have been me. I was then like “but then you wouldn’t have your lovely wife”. He dropped his smirk fast lol.

Reminds me of my ex who promised that he’d go to therapy after a ridiculous jealous outburst. He went to one session and said the therapist told him he was fine 🙄 Then he kept having all of these mental problems with anxiety and his family. I told him to go to therapy and all of a sudden it was “too expensive”. Funny because he had money to spend on weed and eating out every month. Priorities.

I think it’s recommended to be tested every 3-6 months since some STD’s have longer incubation periods than others. HIV for example can take 3 months to show up on a test after exposure.

So you don’t think that men should have to financially support their children? Edit: Just checked out your history. Apparently you’re racist and you hate women, so I can only imagine how atrocious your response is going to be.

You’re making a point to blame every abandoned single mother for her own misfortune. As if she deserves it. I don’t know how to feel about that. You can’t make statements about how women chose because it isn’t black and white and I’ll also go out on a limb here and say that you aren’t a woman at all. It almost seems like you’re placing blame maybe because they didn’t choose you or other men like you.

What I’m saying is that people are deceitful. You may think you know how good of a father a man will be, but you won’t really know the truth until it happens.

Are you implying that women know that their partners are going to be trash husbands/ fathers before they even settle down and have children? Because that’s far fetched for many. Some men are great husbands and terrible fathers and vice versa.

Please please please don’t date a man that you need to educate all the time. I did it for two years and it was exhausting. Our dynamics were similar to you and your guy except our upbringings were flipped opposite of yours. You might be able to overlook the differences now, but they’ll start to disgust you later. Trust me.

You are taking this way too seriously. I honestly believe he’s just joking because that’s what he does. These types of jokes work for some couples, but not all. It’s best to keep this in mind and remember to look for a man that shares your sense of humor.

I don’t know about this. This type of humor wouldn’t work for me, but I believe it works for them. He says that one of the first things he noticed about her was her wit. So I believe that they joke back and forth all the time. I remember one year, Blake made a birthday post for Ryan, but she used Ryan Gosling’s picture as a joke instead. It was hilarious and he seemed to think so as well.

Idk why this pillow thing has me dead lol. I used to sleep over at my ex’s house and he had the scratchiest sheets, all accompanied by these flat ass pillows. My neck got no support. My body was scratched tf up. And he also kept like 3 fans on while he slept. Every bit of my poor body was dry come morning time. I remember waking up so dehydrated one morning, I couldn’t even put a tampon in. I should have left as soon as I saw those pillows.

Hey sis. You are me and I am you. Honestly, your post almost made me cry. I didn’t realize that my self esteem was through the floor until I started going to therapy earlier this year. I believe that this has kept me in bad relationships with piss poor men who were just as broken as I am (if not more). I get where you’re coming from in terms of making bad decisions, but there’s more to it than that. Pregnancy can still happen while on birth control. Pregnancy can still happen while using a condom. Deciding whether or not to have an abortion is a moral issue for many. Child support helps cover expenses, but it does not raise a child. Children fare better in two parent homes. It seems like you’re viewing this issue solely from the perspective of making/keeping money. That’s why you feel like the…

Adoption is an option for some, but not all. Many people don’t feel right about it. Let’s just be real, this is a nuanced topic. One person can’t come up with the proper solution for everyone.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/03/20 04:22 PM

Well you also stated that women have nothing to lose if we don’t vet correctly. That’s just not true. Unwanted pregnancy is one of the many bad things that can happen. So you can’t blame people for responding to your ridiculous claims.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/03/20 04:16 PM

This. I really don’t understand why people are so upset at women for trying to choose better long term partners. Better partners lead to better relationships, which lead to better lives for children. What’s so hard to understand about that? Also, OP, us women DO have to have some sort of substance to ourselves in order to maintain long term relationships. What a lot of naysayers don’t realize is that there a self improvement aspect to it as well. For those who don’t know: r/femalelevelupstrategy

The risk for the woman comes from the possibility of a deadbeat dad. There are also health risks associated with pregnancy. Also, not every woman is comfortable with the idea of an abortion. For these women, there is no other option besides just carrying out the pregnancy and becoming a mother.

This is a tricky subject. Just ended my LTR because I decided to stay abstinent until marriage. We were previously having sex, but my values changed because I’ve gotten deeper into my faith. It didn’t take my ex long to leave because of “resentment”. I didn’t expect him to stay to be honest. I haven’t dated since, but I’m a little nervous about what it’s going to be like when I get back into the game. My advice would be for you to come up with a goal In mind. Too many women and not enough men within our community leads to a scarcity mindset. It creates a very uneven playing field where black women are often treating black men as the prize in order to keep a man just for the sake of having one. Black men in America are less likely to have high paying jobs, so many end up needing help with taking care of household bills. The leads me to add that black women are at the point where we are becoming more educated than our male counterparts. Higher educatio…
