You're gonna let the differences between one woman and the version you had of her in your mind turn you into a misogynistic red pill jackass?
/r/ExRedPill29/12/23 05:42 PM
1

Eh that's not really what I mean. People who have gone through abusive situations, especially I their formative years, can subconsciously find red flags as green, or at least beige. TRP conditions men to see red flags as beige by repeating myths of hypergamy, branch swinging, "frame testing" etc as normal female behavior when in reality that's normal behavior for really emotionally unhealthy people. However if that's what you learn to expect via TRP or other sources like an abusive parental rela…

Sounds like you're looking for the therapist to give you direct answers. Therapists generally don't give direct answers like that but help you gain your own insight into your feelings and reactions, as well as give you skills to help you healthily cope through emotionally intense times. As for the first question, yeah some do. It doesn't make them feel better about themselves. In fact many of them either become full blown sex and love addicts or wind up deeply misogynistic because they expect th…

Yes, TRP is basically teaching low self esteem men how to weaponize the traits of narcissistic personality disorder.
/r/ExRedPill10/12/23 02:25 AM
11

Even more insidious, it's basically attempting to dominate the perception of those around you. "Oh, you think I'm being rude and belligerent? Actually I'm not, you're overly sensitive and any reasonable person would recognize that."

Yep, guy is looking for a quick fix to start getting laid all the time without having fully done the therapeutic work to stop focusing his self worth on how many women he can bed. He has more work to do.

I did, he's on the right path but still has has work to do in the therapist's office. I mean he could take some lessons in being charismatic if he finds the right resources but all of that is hollow until he moves past these self esteem issues he's describing.

Exredpill is a sub for people leaving or who have left TRP because we figured out is just weaponized misogyny that will make your life worse and alienate and radicalize you if you stick around too long. Further, I did do therapy for several years and it revealed to me the patterns that led me into consistent toxic relationship after toxic relationship, and how they were set up by my fucked up childhood. The therapy also helped show me how fucked up TRP ideology actually is. Hope it can do the sa…

Man you're really lost. I'm sorry your ex is so fucked up and has made her issues your problem. TRP is not the answer, unless the answers you seek are how to have mutually abusive and destructive relationships. The answer is therapy to ask yourself why you're attracted to toxic relationships in the first place.

Anyone is capable of this. Stop picking narcissistic and sociopathic women and you'll stop dealing with this, just like if women don't pick narcissistic or sociopathic men they won't deal with this either. Leave the sexism for the incels

Lmao you're really reaching with that MRA accusation. This is clearly not a serious conversation and you are not a serious person. You have a lot of self examination ahead of you if you want to see positive changes in your life. No one is responsible for your feelings but I do believe there is some type of responsibility as humans to at least think about how we respond to people and what we may project onto them. Can you not see the direct contradiction in this statement? You're literally saying no one is responsible for my feelings except yes they really are. Also there's a biiiig difference for women fearing men vs men being bitter about rejection. This is literally an existential problem for some women. Reject the wr…

I'll be honest, you sound very young and in need of some growing up. Nobody is responsible for your feelings and how you handle them except you, and absolutely no one aside from maybe your parents, are in any way obligated to treat you with kid gloves. because it doesn't affirm you nor does it take accurately you and what you are Literally describing an ego-based reaction here. Your self image is damaged? That's your ego talking. Yeah, sure, it sucks when people are mean to you. Sometimes many people are mean in a row. That's their prerogative. Move on, it says more about them than you. These aren't people you want to spend time with anyway if they, as you say, revel in speaking to people like that.

People can talk to each other however they like. You can't control anyone else, all you can do is control how you act in response. Will you get ego-hurt and lash out like a child, or, worse a predator In response to someone showing you exactly why you wouldn't want to be around them in the first place? Or will you do the mature thing and recognize that people who revel in going nuclear are bad company and she just saved you the time and money it otherwise would have cost you to find out, so you …

Literally emotionally abuse your partner, trauma bond with them, and then covertly or overtly threaten to leave once they've become codependent. I can't imagine a more toxic dynamic short of acute physical abuse.

Thanks! It's been years now, a big turning point for me was when they went all in for Trump. That was a major wake up call that this shit was way more nefarious than they were pretending to be. Looking back, there were some things that I felt was improving for me, but you're right, I was insecure and constantly chasing validation (even though they preach that whole "lion doesn't care for the opinion of sheep" mindset) and never felt like I was enough no matter what I accomplished. My fiance and …

I found trp after growing up with an abusive mom and having a string of emotionally abusive girlfriends. A lot of the stuff they purported registered with my experience. They also weren'tnearly as extreme in 2014 as they are now. Turns out what they are describing with some accuracy is narcissistic personality disorder, and then encouraging men to engage in similar behaviors. Got therapy, kept the good stuff, rejected the bullshit, doing MUCH better now and i'm happy to see this support group ex…

The worst part about stuff like the red pill are the kernels of real, good advice that give the whole thing an air of legitimacy. Don't let yourself get walked all over. Keep good hygiene. Exercise and eat well. Learn to be financially literate. It's good advice, but it usually also comes with gems like never trust a woman, she's already trying to figure out how to cheat on you. Or, women will instantly hate you at the first sign of weakness. Or worse still, emotionally abuse your partner to get…

TRP encourages men to abuse women emotionally and often physically under the guise of "biological programming." Leave before you get hurt, and if you care to tell him why, specifically tell him it's red pill shit that's pushed you away.

This does two things. One, it encourages men to create and/or maintain mutually abusive relationships (she's toxic or abusive, he blames himself for not being alpha enough and becomes more toxic or abusive himself, ad infinitum). Two, it encourages men to violate boundaries set by women who only feel safe rejecting them in a rude or intentionally hurtful manner (she made a fool of me to reject me, I must not be alpha enough). Good looks on pointing this out.

It really depends on what you're going for. Your body adapts to what you put it through most often. Soccer players are shredded but they're not particularly huge, because they do much more running and engage their cores for balance and quick turns than anything else. A shot put thrower will have massive strength, especially in their chest, shoulders and triceps to help heave the shot through the air. Ask them to go on a distance run with you, and they likely will have trouble keeping up. Distanc…

I don't disagree with that at all, and in fact mentioned that in my reply to WHM. I do think you vastly misunderstood my criticism however. My thoughts about it being a veritable cortisone shot, an easy and temporary band-aid for the symptoms rather than a solution for the problem, was a statement on the way he recommended it. It's easy to travel to a place because your life is boring, spend three weeks there, come home feeling like you've accomplished something huge (which, honestly, you have) …

Thanks, that's similar to what I've started doing. I have a number of things (laundry, clean living space, groceries etc) that each get a point every day they're not done. 5 points in any one of those and I really fucked up and need to fix the situation.
/r/TheRedPill15/06/15 05:27 PM

That, in my opinion, is the cortisone shot of doing badass things. You won't be able to talk about that like it's relevant 2 years after it happened. If, in half a decade, that's the only cool thing you've done and you keep bringing it up then you're just that guy. Being a dope motherfucker is a lot like tending a garden. You have to keep watering it, trimming the plants and pulling the weeds. If you don't, everything either dies of or gets overrun and unkempt. This metric, at least for me, is a…

Philosophy in general is hamstering, by its very nature. Philosophy is an attempt to explain our existence without the knowledge of concrete facts. It's phenomenal mental gymnastics that is useful in that it causes us to question what's presented to us and critically examine the world around us, but in the end it's mostly just bullshit. Philosophy is forever an attempt at explaining why we're here, when in reality we exist before the why and we always will. The why doesn't matter, what matters i…

I didn't want this to turn into yet another political discourse on modern feminism that is very typical on this sub.
/r/TheRedPill20/10/14 07:06 AM

None of that addresses my point about philosophy. It also strengthens my point about empirical facts. The big brother aspect has nothing to do with this conversation.
/r/TheRedPill19/10/14 03:58 PM
2

I disagree. Your arguments should be based on empirical evidence and well made inference, not old truisms. I wouldn't say stoicism is a truth. It's a philosophy, which its nature is basically a way to hamster our existence. This one just has things that resonate with TRP mindset. And I think if you want to look toward the future successfully, you have to understand the past.

There is a balance, I believe. I heard a funny little witticism once: tradition is, traditionally, the enemy of innovation. I think the trick is to understand which things are timeless truths and which are archaic and dated sayings that we've grown accustomed to. I've heard it said that if a person isn't adding to your life, they're almost certainly taking away from it. I think philosophies and pieces of wisdom are much the same. Edit: a word.

I had colitis a few weeks back. Sent me to the ER, dehydration, fever of 103.7, diarrhea, the works. I'm talking screaming into a pillow, can't eat, can't move, can't think pain. Dude this was a great read. I've long been thinking about how absolutely damaging romance culture is. On top of everything you said, which I agree with wholeheartedly, romance culture actively enforces that mental illness is a good thing. It's fine to want someone in your life, that's reasonable. The human experience is probably best measured in the connections you make, alongside your accomplishments. When you start needing someone however, then you have a codependency problem on your hands. Make sure to include information about divorce and custody laws. Most states have laws that favor women so heavily that there are rising instances of marrying just for the alimony post-divorce. From my own experience, my mother has supported herself, her boyfriend and both of his sons on a part time retail job and my father's alimony and child support for almost 15 years. Also, men are forced into child support. A woman can choose to keep or terminate a pregnancy, and that's her right and it sho…

I just want to clarify in my last comment. It's often said of technology that it's not good or evil, it just is. The people that use it are good or evil. I think, with enough self awareness, personality traits become the same thing. They're not inherently beta or alpha, it's how they're used. You hear PUAs talking about using the Dark Triad, or using beta game to establish repore. Same thing, it's all in how they're used.

I think being understanding, empathetic and calm are all virtues, and I regularly make use of these abilities. They're fantastic skills for strengthening relationships, whether they're romantic or platonic. Especially because when the other side of that relationship wrongs you, you can use these abilities to relate to them the wrong and hash out the problem. My biggest issue (still, and what I'm working on the hardest) is when it's appropriate for me to use these abilities. Being an alpha and be…
