I have cold sores and take a daily 200mg acyclovir. With this I have 2 attacks per year. Without it, the attacks come once a month and sometimes weekly. In three decades with my wife I have never passed it on. You need to get a feel for the prodrome and cease any contact until your sure it's an attack or not. Prodrome on the lips, face or nose feels like an itch or tingle or slight swelling. A "fat lip" feel. Sometimes I have bitten the inside of my mouth and realised it was a prodrome. I can't …

I have lots of facial herpes: cold sores. I take a daily acyclovir tablet. It reduces rate of attacks from every few weeks to one attack per year. Acyclovir is cheap. I've been really careful not to have any contact when I have an attack and we've been lucky in the last 20 years. Maybe you had a cold sore. PM if you any questions you don't want to put here.

Machines because I keep hurting myself with the free weights. I have a bad shoulder, back and knee. I can press but not bench. 6 months ago OHP was 150#. Since the gym has the machines it lets me workout without joint pain. So far it's working but it's early days. I agree compound exercises with free weights would be better, but that's not an option yet. I am 173cm or 5'8". I'll add it to my OYS. I am aiming for alpha sprouts challenge of -1% BF by next week. We'll see.

Do yourself a favor: don't post until you lose 1% body weight...definitely a waste of time for others Fair enough. There is no such thing as spot fat loss Agreed. I have read it's the last place fat goes from. I have a pot belly from a life time of sitting so I think it will help tighten this up and undo the slack belly. Have you had your T levels checked? No. My male pattern baldness and the way my muscles grow when I am able to lift makes me think that's ok. My lessened interest in sex I think…

I've always OHP but not BP but I wanted to try it because I hadn't really pushed it because it would niggle my shoulders. I could press more than I benched. As you say the scales are crap so I wanted to try this: http://www.strongur.io/body_fat_calculator/ It depends on bench and squat. So I tried to push up my bench. I also started on a rowing machine regularly and that seems to have contributed.

I measure my bf with scales and I seem to store my fat in the belly. I don't think it is accurate in absolute terms, but is useful to show changes over time. Looking in the mirror I'd say 20%. As to obese my bmi was I think 29, so yes over weight not obese.

I agree. The bands are for rehab. I have pain at the front of the shoulder when I bench. I am strengthening the rotator cuff with the bands. I tried a pressing movement and was able to do it without pain. This is an improvement on nothing at all. I also have knee cartilage damage hence the knee extensions/curls.

You flared and moded guys want to see the retards have done a little work for themselves before wasting time on one timers. I last PC 150 lbs a couple of months ago. I am lucky enough I can work which days I like but it has to be done sometime. So it is cutting into time I could do better things with. I like my work, but I definitely have a problem with porn. For an alcoholic one drink leads to many and for me the same is true: 10mins can turn into hours. My work life is going better than it has ever done before. I'm aiming high. I started here because I was so angry at what I perceived as my wife's dishonesty, hypocrisy, lasyness and selfishness. I now see, if anything, she was being kind. The dishonest covert contracts for sex, the lasyness of not working out etc. were my faults. Perhaps my anger was a subconscious covering up of this. Who knows, doesn't matter now. I see many analogs in past employments/contracts, including covert contracts, covering my shortcomings and being lasy and not giving my best. So there are …

I hated the writing, but liked the ideas. I think it made me start to realise how little I trusted my own judgement and how much I was looking to others for approval. The main protagonist's personality is a characature, but that's why it's on the reading list to provide a perfect aim point, a architype to aim for. What did you get out of it?

Let me have another go: Setup My sumo style lift starts with shins touching the bar. My knees are wide perhaps 30 degrees rather than 45. My feet are under my knees. Throw all of my effort into solving the problem. If I succeed, great, if not I know I will have given it all. If I push but then fail I risk loosing my ego protection. "I'm not really stupid, I just didn't try."

Ok. I have a technical problem in my work I am trying to fix. It is out of my usual area of expertise and I am learning this area. I am fearful of failing this task. And admitting to myself and boss I'm not quick enough to compete with guys half my age. I have a renewal coming up and this crazy climate, I'm worried I won't get it if I admit I'm really not up scratch yet.

Since this is OYS I'm trying to dig into my own negative patterns and I see a large correspondence between my helpful nice guy persona at work and at home. They are both passive and fearful of responsibility. I'm a senior guy now! I need to take responsibility for things both at home and work.

Work: It's a startup and I'm working with guys half my age. I've had a special skill they needed early on, but now they don't. I could and should have put more effort into learning the new thing they need. If they can find someone before I catch up, they will replace me. I don't blame them, I should have been more proactive and less passive. The fault is mine. Initiating: I will keep on, keeping on.

I've had a shoulder problem so I'm happy to be benching 33kg! The OYS with the linear progression of SL means I can't mess around. Every week I have to post new numbers. Fear of rejection Very likely. Ok, I'll aim to initiate more.

I have started NMMNG but not finished it. This is a recurring theme for me, not finishing things, pieces of work or plans. In reading I am concentrating on finishing "The Fountainhead" as it is the first on the list for career betas. I will then finish NMMNG.

It is all my doing. I still get angry sometimes, but a lot of that is bruised ego. I am aiming to lift, stfu and introduce changes incrementally. I don't think I need to do a victim puke, I see it's my actions repeatedly that make my troubles. At 48 I have lots of little niggling injuries, so I have to be careful with the lifting, but I love the progress.

Low sex life. Low self respect. Unhappy in my work because I am letting down the people i work with because I because don't give my best. I know the problem is me so I am try to follow the instructions and take it slow and not go Rambo. Knowing and feeling are different. It's much easier to blame my wife. Easier but not helpful and not correct. So my anger "leaks out". Writing that make me think the first thing you'll say is take responsibility for it!
