You should make a version that says that. The purpose of the gender swapped version is to expose the sexism inherent in the original meme using contradiction.

OK, nowhere in the original or corrected meme does anyone do that, so your comment is irrelevant. The original meme equates "bossy" with "leadership skills". You agree that is wrong. The corrected meme says that bossiness is unkind, since you agree that bossiness is not a positive trait, it seems that you agree that is right. So it seems that your only contention is an comparison between "assertive" and "bossy" that exists only in your mind.

If a little girl is being told she's bossy, it's probably because she's being rude and obnoxious. It's not because she organized her friends together to fight injustice or something. Bossiness is not a positive trait, and it is unkind. It shouldn't be encouraged or rebranded as "leadership skills".

That is an interesting opinion, but I don't think it is true. I have never been told, nor thought, that talking too much is a sign of bossiness. Bossiness is usually characterized as behavior that is domineering, overbearing, tyrannical, or despotic. Loquacious is not on the list.

More often women (men too) mistake bossiness for leadership.

I think you miss my point, the "Howard vs Heidi experiment", as it is called in the article you posted, is not a "study". What you cited is an anecdote about an experiment that a professor supposedly did with his class. The article doesn't even cite corroborating evidence that the experiment even happened, much less that its results were statistically significant, so it is less than useless. I didn't make any assertion about how much men talk vs women, so articles on that subject are irrelevant.

First of all, what you posted is not a study. It's an article based on a anecdote with conclusions supported by a bunch of assumptions. Secondly, no assertion was made about how much women and men speak. Thirdly, confidence and bossiness are not the same thing. Bossiness is an undesirable trait regardless of gender.

It's not true. Women that are bossy and bitchy are considered bossy and bitchy. Men who act similarly are called douchbags and Jerks. It is possible to be confident and assertive without being bossy or bitchy. Feel free to share your "studies", but they won't change the fact that bossiness is an undesirable trait regardless of gender.

The original said "has leadership skills" in case you can't see it.

Well, "No" does mean "no", and "Stop" is close enough, but all of the others do not actually mean "no". In fact: "I'm tired" has nothing to do with dissent at all. "Not now" is literally an invitation to try again later. "I'm not sure" actually does carry the connotation “convince me.” “I don't know” also carries the connotation “convince me.” “I'm not ready” is the same as “not now”; it is an invitation to try again later. It is correct to say that “no” does not mean “convince me”, but at least…

The point is that the gendering is not pointless. The misandry is inherent in making the statement gendered in the first place. The original wording is designed to convey the idea that women make men successful, or that men can't be successful without women. Whether or not you agree with that premise, misandry is the underlying reason that this wording is popular but the gender flipped version doesn't exist. Instead statements like "a woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle" are the standa…
