That situation is 1,000% fucked up, but I am at a total loss about what it has to do with liberal feminism?

Made this comment in a related thread the other day and got hit with "Way to make yourself the victim here too". Well first of all, being turned down by romantic or sexual interest does NOT make you a victim, holy shit. Felt like I entered the Twilight Zone.

Thanks! "Women looking for men" (the old Craigslist abbreviation) is what first popped into my mind but I wanted to make sure I was right because I've not seen it used anywhere else. 😛

In my education courses, we were taught about how the cultural idea of 'machismo' can affect student behavior inside the classroom. Not in an 'all Hispanic kids will do this' way, but in a 'if a student is doing this and also happens to be Hispanic, this might be why they're doing it' kind of way. I'm sure it affects how many act in relationships too.

I fucking hate when people try to discredit acts of service by saying, "I know you helped some people, but you really couldn't have helped all people? Then what's even the point?" First of all, it's downright disrespectful to the effort and thought put in to begin with. Second, it's not any one person's job to fix all the wrongs in the world, not that it's even possible. People can fix what they see or have experienced because that's how we build empathy at a community level. But most importantl…

I think you're missing the point completely. If you feel so victimized by the community you choose to be a part of, not really sure what to tell ya.

DOT stands for Department of Transportation and it is not an international standard. 😂 Just take your L and go, you've both made your point and insulted everyone here so there's really no reason to keep digging your hole deeper.

There are a ton of dudes who still don't think women should serve and do that shit on purpose to try and drive us away forever. Like if they make things bad enough, we'll just stop enlisting. Both my parents served. I've always known it's not for me, but I'm proud of you for sticking it out even when it's shitty. My mom didn't have a great time either but always says she is a better person for it. Hope you feel a similar way - don't let the bastards keep you down!

His question might as well say, "I will pretend I care and give you gifts to maintain my dominance over you but as soon as you're anything other than what I want you to be, I'm a massive controlling asshole. Oh wait that's what's I was all along."

"A masculine man won't even want you buying him all kinds of stuff." More like a damaged man can't handle it because he sees gift-giving as a power play. Don't play that game chica.

If y'all are seeing any men posting this, let alone lots of men, you are messing with the wrong crowd. I've yet to see one of them other than what's posted about it on this sub. Delete those men from your life, even if you don't have a romantic interest in them! They are not worthy of attention!

I knew someone who started balding in high school. By the above logic, he should never be allowed to get married because he will always look older than his wife. or maybe that person was saying he has to now marry someone older than him so they look the same age? I just think it's fucked up to judge someone based on how they will look compared to you at a certain age.

Since he thinks the engagement and wedding planning are separate stages, I'm not sure he understands any of this.

Just to provide the full extent of the context, the newspaper issued a contest for the best response, so these were meant to be funny by the women who wrote them. Doesn't mean they're not true, just sharing for everyone's information. https://y95country.com/victorian-spinsters-had-great-quotes-about-lack-of-husbands/

Yeah I didn't know they called her name before the crying, I though maybe she was crying because she wasn't picked yet and then they called her and she stopped.

Oh I gotcha, so she was picked and then she cried before changing it up. Hard to tell without audio. I took it as she was crying because she hadn't been picked yet and then they called her name. Thanks for the clarification.

Sex work and pornography are not synonymous with nudity, though. For centuries men have been telling women to cover their bodies or else they'll be seen as less valuable. It's freeing to many women to finally be able to exist in their own body in a way that makes them feel comfortable without feeling controlled by the opinions of men. Other women telling those women they need to cover up or be seen as less valuable is just gross to me. It supports the patriarchal idea that women need to hide the…

Why are we advancing the idea that a woman has to hide her skin to be respected? Edit to add that I'm new and honestly just still confused by some parts of this sub. Earlier today there was a post about how women should be able to do what they want with their bodies, now this? I like some of what I see here but I honestly can't get on board with the contradictions I've seen. If anyone can offer a reasonable response, I would appreciate. I'm not trying to fight, I'm trying to understand.

So was she faking the tears at first? Why was she even crying? I'm still so confused!

"If I perceive your verbal abuse as physical, I deserve to hit you." I paraphrased, but that's one of the most toxic things I've ever heard!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
