It's true that a person can support equality by labeling themselves egalitarian--but then why wouldn't MRA's choose that label? When you get down to it, aren't MRA's basically fighting for equality? Feminism claims to advocate for issues not only of all genders, but also races, sexualities, religions--until the term itself becomes mushy and meaningless, particularly in the presence of those who demonize anyone but those considered "oppressed." I guess I just don't think the majority of feminists are as anti-men as a lot of people here seem to believe--and I know that makes me the unpopular minority. I think that Men's Rights advocates have more in common with their Feminist counter parts than they'd like to believe (and vice versa). That's why I, like many, gravitate toward the term "egalitarian"--it includes rights for everyone in one term, without the exclusionary language of feminism or men's rights. Feminism is as much about the oppression of men and suppression of their issues as Men's Rights is about the oppression of women and their issues.
