older people are less likely to be single True, but being realistic for a moment: infidelity is and has always been a thing. It's a bit of Columns A and B. It's worth noting that this sometimes trends in the opposite direction. Some men do glow up over the course of their 20s and early 30s. They do go from 10 options to 25. There are a lot of reasons for this, like the natural variance between individuals in how rapidly they produce visible signs of aging, to the sheer opportunity of time to imp…

There's no mystery here. Both younger men AND women are more interested in the opposite sex sincerely (i.e. for sexual relationships) than older people are on average. This isn't a men vs. women thing - this is a human thing. Older men are more likely to be scouting out for a maid or caretaker; older women, free room and board. If they are looking for anything at all besides their slippers. Older men are objectively much less attractive on average than their younger peers or indeed their younger…

This is too naïve, OP. They don't want to address mens' concerns in general and white mens' concerns in particular because the people who support and vote for them have a deep resentment and animosity towards these groups - and would see the Democrats actively working for their interests as a betrayal. As far as they're concerned, the whole purpose of progressivism is achieving social justice and equal outcomes - and that requires decision makers to explicitly and deliberately take from them to …

People have conscious and unconscious motivations. I would think that very few women could not have an instinct to have children after literal ages and ages of evolution, for obvious reasons.

Dating apps killed PUA. Not only did it make the fuzzy hat routine obsolete, but it made the pickup process too depressing and cynical even to the cynics.

Courtesy of Gemini: Is sexual attention really "empowerment"? I want to talk about how modern culture calls sexual attention "empowerment." I believe this idea actually makes both men and women feel less in control of their lives and their long-term happiness. The Shift in Thinking In the past, equality meant that women should be seen as whole people, not just for their bodies. Today, that has changed. There is nothing wrong with being confident or expressing yourself. However, the problem start…

Yeah this argument is ridiculous. Even if I'm not going to insist on being cynical enough to say This is a beta thing, admit your woman is getting uglier as she ages, the reality is that Aging is bad for the person experiencing it, as obvious as it is to say. I know, because I am. Not (just) for reasons of vanity and what other people will see - but because externally-visible physical decline is just a symptom of what's happening inside. People are insecure about aging and seeming aged because o…

They want the unjaded person likely all the more because they are jaded. I suppose it IS ironic - but it is not at all surprising, or uncommon. As in the other examples I cited of people wanting what they lack - in this case the charm and happiness of youth. The tragedy is of course that actually being with someone unjaded will not at all necessarily make you any less jaded in practice - it may well make the terrible contrast all the more obvious and painful.

You've lost me here. Obviously some fat people can be attractive despite their fatness and some jaded people can be attractive despite their jadedness. Neither attribute is on the top of most peoples' lists.

Why would I want to stay young forever I feel a song coming on... #Let's dance in style, let's dance for a while#

Huh? My point is that just because you (say, as a man) are jaded, it doesn't mean that you think "being jaded" is hot. The fact that you are jaded doesn't make a girl being jaded at all more attractive to you. In fact, likely quite the opposite - you may want someone entirely un-jaded to make up for it and bring a little joy into your miserable life. Just as the fat girl being fat doesn't make her suddenly start squirting all over the place when she goes into McDonald's and sees her fellow fatti…

Having a bad quality doesn't mean you find that quality admirable or desirable. This one goes both ways, with fat girls holding out for ripped Chads. In fact, having a bad quality can make you even more desperate to secure its opposite (see: old guys desperately chasing young women, poor women desperately seeking betabucks, etc.)

I would entirely agree it's possible for a man to peak As a person at an older age, but this is in spite of the body. Some men become great scholars, businessmen, politicians and so on. Some may even be so genuinely admirable that even some young women look past their physical decline. But I mean... of course they are aged physically. Women hate hearing it but I do think men on average age a little better than women, but this is perhaps a five-year lag and that's it. Plus hair loss, drinking/dru…

Physically getting older is terrible. No logical person wants knee problems, headaches, hair loss, back pains, tiredness, low sex drive, obesity etc. I know half you liars will say I'm still fit what are you talking about, but if you're honest, at least some of this is happening to you. So logically literally no-one would want to or for their girlfriend/wife to physically age above 25 if it was possible. Mentally either, because the brain ages just like and with the body. The only good thing abo…

I think the boomer party has somewhat been crashed by Tinder and social media. Being in the room is obviously an advantage, but you're just not going to have the same success as the average "okay" normie who is one of the guys and can crack jokes in 2025 as you would in the 1990s or 1980s just because you were in the right place and the right time. Being the extroverted cool guy is still an obvious plus, but today the shy handsome guy can get laid any day of the week thanks to Tinder, whereas hi…

I agree that attractive people have more options - but this doesn't directly answer to the question of offense. Just say or agree with this statement, Society considers attractive people (including younger women) more valuable people who deserve better - less attractive people (including older women) are expected to - or at least meet with more approval or acceptance when - they take on their fellow un- or at least less desirables, and I'll let you go.

That still is not anything like a direct answer.

They may argue this strategically on PPD, but not in real life. No woman in the real world is going to make out that they love dating a guy who looks like a cave goblin because they watched the same cartoons and had the same lunchables at break time when they were kids and are therefore an appropriate match for each other.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/25 06:28 PM

You are being dishonest. If men were truly seeking out the most vulnerable because of their vulnerability, attractive young women would not be most sought after, for obvious reasons. Less attractive, fat, and older women would be - which they are not, according to every dating app statistic we have. This is just silly.

He wants her because she has traits that make her vulnerable. If this was true, men would seek out sickly, unattractive women (even extremely fat and downright ugly women with low self-esteem, rather than baddies out of their league). This one doesn't pass the smell test right out the gate.

So to you, it's not about the age gap being inappropriate at all per se - the old guy just has to put enough money on the table slash a ring to compensate - and make it a fair exchange? Interesting. I guess the male version of this would be accepting a woman not so easy on the eyes but who is willing to scrub floors, prepare elaborate multi-course meals, etc. If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life...
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/25 05:08 PM
1

True (obviously), but that's not even what I'm trying to nail down here. I'm trying to get these people to admit that they are a little or even a lot less upset to see the old ugly fat guy with a frumpy older woman compared to a young hot woman - because they think the young hot woman deserves better and (put with brutal honesty) the frumpy older woman doesn't. It is going about as well as I expected.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/25 05:03 PM

In case that was hard to understand: Why is it more offensive to see a weak, fat, ugly bald man matched with a younger, pretty woman than an older, homely [woman]?

The main problem with the manipulation argument is this: If a billionaire old man dates a 22-year-old, people call it "transactional" (although most would still likely despise the relationship, a minority would respect the hustle). But if a broke old man does it, he is actually more likely (perhaps even likely to be almost universally) called a "creep," despite being in no position of social power, and being in no position to really manipulate the woman financially and probably otherwise. This p…

If it was only about predatory behaviour, the physical characteristics of older mens' decline would not matter. The very fact that these shallow characteristics are brought up at all, demonstrates that the deeper impulse is actually about attractiveness hierarchies. The actual criticism is not, in fact, the actual criticism. This is called revealed versus stated values.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/25 04:23 PM

If it was only or even mainly a number/experience/manipulation thing, the physical appearance of an individual older man wouldn't be at all relevant. By pointing out specific signs of physical decline in older men (hair loss, obesity, etc.), this in practice shifts into an argument about fitness and qualification - and once again, heavily implies that most older men are not physically attractive enough to deserve young women - further implying that younger women are, or should be, reserved for m…

I wasn't denying the possible accuracy of the description at all - you've missed my point, which was that the characteristics of older men that are disliked are also the characteristics of unattractive men in general (and older people generally, of course - apart from the few that are sex-specific). By suggestive that essentially unattractiveness makes it more heinous for men to show interest in women they shouldn't feel confident enough to because of their relative or absolute unattractiveness …

I never found this argument entirely convincing - young women obviously have incredible power in society, and definitely can dominate the average guy in a relationship especially the typical older man. At the same time, I understand - and would agree with - the argument that young women are perhaps silly and could let their hormones and naïve younger person's mind lead them into something they wouldn't when older (just as younger men could). All older people without regard to sex tend to be more…

I don't see how average men could possibly benefit much on balance from future technological advances in terms of how much power they have vs. the other sex. Power accrues to institutions, states, corporations -not to Joe Average. So advances like AI, surveillance, automation, etc. are more likely to further constrain men than liberate them. It seems like men have had a very long losing streak at this point, starting from the very moment industrial machines began to replace male muscle in earnes…

Women often resent men, but sometimes feel anxious or even frightened without men around. This is probably an evo-psych thing - police are relatively new and novel; for most of our time on this earth, you needed a strong man around to be safe - or be that strong man. It's like how kids will say I hate you Dad! but if Dad actually goes away they end up needing therapy decades later because of the fact.

I see. So you think men ARE fussy as I said in my other comment - but perhaps you think this is not because of others' judgement - but because of their own preferences. Either way, then we don't need to argue about your OP, since even you don't think most men really will take any woman - this is most likely virtue signalling, then.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/25 02:46 PM

OP, I take it you're saying that men who date less attractive women don't respect them, and just want sexual relief - and that this is what most men are like. This doesn't make them less shallow - it just shows that most women are to them worth using - but not loving. In a perfect world, would you prefer if men WERE fussier? I honestly think men are fussier than ever, even if not as fussy as women yet - but you disagree.

I don't this is true anymore, anyway. Because of how widespread the chopped dude epidemic meme is now - and how much age-gaps have become a controversy (always with the barely-hidden subtext that You don't deserve baddies (which actually induces men to think more - rather than less - about the attractiveness level of the women they may or may not be able to date) - men are increasingly both being pickier, and saying they're pickier. Men are increasingly wary of being seen to be made a fool of by…

Fair enough. I mean, to be fair, India is such a hugely populous country that there was simply no way the British could continue to rule it absent the active consent of most people, so Indians withdrawing that was alone enough to end British rule (and perhaps it is in fact to the credit to Indians that they didn't inflict needless violence on either themselves or the British - at least at that point). In some ways, I entirely understand why some women think it makes sense for men to pay. If they are seeking a successful or at least comfortable man, this is a good litmus test. A man who's genuinely both not skint AND attractive won't be that put out if the date doesn't go as he hoped, because A) it's not that much money to him, and B) if he's actually attractive, this won't be one in a predictable series of failures, just one unfortunate date where they didn't connect. A man being either REALL…

Moid, so replying here to avoid tripping the Mod bot. The realistic (and truthful) argument isn't that bad men can't get women - but rather that unattractive, bad men can't get women. If you're not attractive, being a bad person won't make you any more so.

Getting into a relationship doesn't guarantee stability. 'Til death do us part isn't a thing anymore, thanks to dating apps and social media, as well as an unprecedentedly individualistic society with no real enforcement of monogamy let's face it especially when it comes to what women do. I somewhat agree with this. Unfortunately, the real freedom is the freedom to say no. Being in business can sometimes be no more free or even less free than being a cog in the machine; in fact, especially in this world of connectivity, both business and white-collar work can leave you always-on, at the mercy of clients and customers 24/7. When you're an employee, you only have to be good enough to avoid getting the chop - if it's your business, you have to actually move your arse and win for you…

Perhaps this may seem to weaken my argument - but I suspect it depends on if the crying is real anguish and misery of those definitively at the bottom of the pile - or the perceived outrage of those finally moving up and getting to where they feel they belong. The fact that you are asking strangers on Reddit of all places rather than hitting the club kinds of answers your question for you, doesn't it? Age is just a number - but aging isn't. Physical aging isn't attractive, because the same things that make older men unattractive (obesity, hair loss, wrinkles, lack of energy) aren't attractive in younger men, either. All isn't necessarily lost - are you exceptionally wealthy? Charismatic? Unusually educated and distinguished in some way? Unfortunately,…

For those struggling with the concept of freedom (or lack of it), there's a pretty easy way to define and quantify it: How much of your day do you spend literally serving others? One hour? Two? Five? Ten? Fifteen? The higher the figure, the less free you are - and the more in thrall you are.

Women see (correctly) that Google, Deloitte, Conde Nast, and Goldman Sachs are more powerful than you, the boyfriend. And they love power. In their little savage caveman brains, individual men are supposed to be powerful and dominant, the way corporations are in our world. Men have the advantage of having sometimes erect penises, which are more fun than corporations. But frustratingly for women, those penises are mostly attached to men who live in the shadow of corporate and State power, which o…

genuine kindness comes from abundance. If you buy a woman a drink at a bar like it’s no big deal because you’re seriously wealthy and it genuinely is no big deal, that’s kindness Is this necessarily the case? If my parents are normal middle-class people and they buy me a house, this is an enormous sacrifice and gesture of love. If my parents are billionaires, it's nice but no skin off their nose.

I don't know if these are parallel characteristics. "Bad" is just synonymous with being wilful and "not submissive" to either women or other men - sometimes to the extent of being willing to break the existing law and at least try to make their own. "Crazy" literally means just that - unstable. It is not synonymous with any kind of strength. "Craziness" in women is frankly only desired because of the perception (correct or not) that it comes as a package with lustfulness and/or promiscuity.

The unfortunate truth is that many, many people of both sexes become unattractive faster than they should because of weight issues. Ideally, people should be at their peak physically and aesthetically between around 18 and 25, only beginning their gentle decline in earnest between 30 and 35. But this doesn't always - or perhaps make that often - happen.

The reverse is also true, though. It seems logically or morally inconsistent to want to deny giving credit for all the good things someone's in-group did for society, but foster guilt for all of the bad. It's two sides of the same coin.

Incels turning to politics and religion in order to shame the playboy life and outright ban it Also, part of the reason for this to the extent that it is a thing is that dating apps and social media have made that life seem further away for most men than it used to be. Frankly I also don't think it hurts most women quite as much to settle. Obviously they do want to bag Chad - but they also are more pragmatic by nature. I actually do agree with the women in this post saying that men and women are a bit different when it comes to age. Obviously, on a fundamental level, physical aging = breaking down, and that's not attractive full stop. Men around their own age is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. You really mean Chad (regardless of age). The average older lady doesn't look twice at the average nobody in the next cubicle at the office. I actually agree btw with women that getting older is a bit easier for men in some ways. For one, because so many men never get much attention from women, getting older feels like going from a 3/4 to a 1/2; (i.e. even feeling less attractive feels mostly like... more of the same - whereas most w…

I mean, you're right about the likelihood or lack thereof rather of most older guys snagging young baddies, BUT the reality is that virtually everyone is ageist, just their threshold in each individual case may be different (practically all of us would exclude people over 80, the vast majority senior citizens, and most young people would rule out the middle-aged). Just as we are virtually all sizeist, not into ugly people, etc. And remember the hard rule: You can't negotiate attraction. This rul…

I'm not going to disagree with you that women are not sexually attracted to men much older than them - but given the number of single men generally, there are many men 2-5 years older that they don't prefer, as well. Older men (and women) are drastically more likely to be unattractive by definition, though - since physical aging is literally synonymous with physical deterioration. Most of the things that make even young men dateless are much more common in older men. A good analogy here is with …

What on earth would a 22 year old and a 55 year old have to talk about? I agree that 22 year olds and 55 year olds are mostly not a good match, but it has nothing to do with their interests, it's because the old guy is not handsome anymore and low-energy too. Chad makes any hobby or conversation topic exciting because he's the one talking about it. It's argumentum ad absurdum I guess, but the Chadfishing experiments showed this can even extend to topics like Why Hitler was based or My extensive …

Seems like this is just hummus/lamb-and-mint flavoured tradcon. In any case, the tradcon ideal is only practical in a society which enforced tradconnery. That's not to say that you have to or should become a red pill/Andrew Tate type - but that in a world where the knives are out, you have to watch your back. While this dating culture obviously started in the West, we can see similar trends throughout the developed world, probably because of the Internet, social media, and dating apps. I'm willing to accept that a more individualistic culture in general didn't help matters - but modern technology, communications and transport fosters a socially more individualistic mentality, even in places where this wasn't the historic norm: see Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and now Mainland China as well. I've had enough of these arguments about how Sex is about power, Incels want validation from Stacy not sex, etc., etc. Especially YOUNG men really do WANT SEX. I don't say just want sex, because that wouldn't be true - but they do want it. Or at least, most of them do. My impression is that many men on here who are now in their 30s or 40s are literally forgetting what that feels like - being a teenager or in your early twenties and just physically desiring women like a madman. That's what many, …

WRONG, gay guys aren't selective (on average) and many of them love sex. Back to the drawing board. Especially young men don't (just) seek out sex for validation, they just want to stick it in because they do. It's a primal and honest motive. (I'm not saying men can't and don't (also) want other things too: love, connection, friendship, all that gooey stuff, because they do - but all the same.)

Women are repelled by men who are actually their mere equals, less still their inferiors. But because they desire power like everyone else for obvious reasons, they are still compelled to seek it in every aspect of life besides their private life and especially the bedroom. Historically, a far larger percentage of the male population than today did meet a woman, get married, and have children. If these milestones are all noticeably less likely to be reached by men today, there does have to be a social explanation. Obviously even in the past, there was going to be an unlucky bottom tenth or so that didn't make the cut, but if that tenth is now larger, there is a reason for this. I don't know that the guys you happen to be friends with are necessarily particularly typical, or that it's reasonable to make judgements about what is normal by using them as examples. And this will be true no matter how many of them there are.

Virtually anyone in Korea before 1910 would characterise modern South Korea as a radical feminist society (even - or even especially - those who would support it). Arguably so to a lesser extent would most people anytime before 1945 - or 1960. 1987, even. Every time a man stands in a line to vote with women, he is supporting…

How old (and/or healthy) are you, OP? No offense. I'm not so old that I don't remember anymore what being a teenager and very young man is like. Sex is a natural and very powerful desire - and the fact that men can just masturbate doesn't turn off that desire. When you're young, dumb, and full of cum, just being around women is energising, electrifying.

On the other hand, I think plenty of women also like the idea of dating and marrying their school sweetheart or whatever too. Either way, they want shit to be special which is understandable.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/25 01:57 PM

I somewhat understand the idea that if you avoid making the first move as a man, you can drastically reduce your chances of ending up in a transactional, unenthusiastic relationship - but women do actually genuinely enjoy attractive men chasing them as well (hell even unattractive men too sometimes, but obviously they don't want to do much about in that case, just get the attention). The same people in this thread claiming its easy I'm not claiming anything's easy. /r/PurplePillDebate16/10/25 01:01 PM

Not really. It's a spectrum, not a binary thing. A few women are slutty around average or even slightly below average men. On the other hand, some guys are just so incredibly pussy-wetting that all but the very most prim and proper women start to go a bit feral around them. While women are on average less outgoing than men - in the times we're living in, women know they can get away with a lot more than men socially, and slut-shaming has been at a low-point for a while now. That's part of it - but the brutal truth is that another big part of it is just that women aren't - and can't be - that attracted to a huge swathe of the male population, because part of their attraction is always based around getting the better/higher/superior man (which is part of the reason why it's so easy for many women and society generally to be cold and indifferent to the wants and needs of the mass of men in the first place).

There's almost a horseshoe theory going on here when it comes to this argument. He literally said it's not desire, which is not true. I do agree with him that men also want more - but that is beside the point. Desire that isn't deep enough, tender enough, loving enough yadda yadda may not be enough and what women really want or whatever - but it's still attraction and desire.

Most women learn from a painfully young age that men want to put their dicks in them, yes. Most girls experience men making sexual comments to them by the time they're 12. That's not "desire", unless you want to call getting mugged "someone really desired my money!" This is dumb. Words have meaning. Women will only feel this way about an older man if he actually has a great deal to show for his greater years. If he's just the manager of the local Denny's or something, she's not going to feel that way. To be frank, I actually DO think women have fantasies about being a cute little girl dating some great powerful guy - but he has to actually be that guy and genuinely larger than life for it to work. Well if there are men who really think that young women mean smooth sailing, they're wrong. Young, attractive women have infinite options and in the modern world they know they do. They're going to be very harsh on soft bellies and cocks, bad hair, wrinkles, and all the rest that usually comes with being older - and it typically takes a great deal to somehow compensate for this. There's also the negative social pressure especially in the modern world. It's easy enough to understand if you put yo…

The reason for the double-standard you're talking about is very simple: competence and power are attractive in men. If a man is insecure, that means he's doesn't feel in control. Physically, socially, potentially even politically. There's nothing about insecurity that could possibly be attractive to a woman. I don't think insecurity in women is really very attractive to men, either (except to insecure men who themselves fear being dominated) and it's just not quite as unattractive in women as it…
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/25 11:04 AM

What do you mean by this?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/25 10:39 AM

I don't think young women are thought of as lesser - not by anyone. Even older women are more protective of them than they are of each other - meaning that any man who dates one will be under constant pressure from society to show he deserves one, especially if he's "too" old. Dating older women is definitely the path of least resistance.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/25 10:35 AM

Submissive here can refer to both men or women, that's the irony. Women are advised by men to go for more pliant (i.e., submissive, less dominant) men who will submit to what they want in a relationship - but that's not exciting. Men actually used to be told by society to seek out submissive rather than fun women in what was seen as both society's interest AND their own (rather than wild party girls) - this is ironically now considered patriarchal or whatever. Men seem to potentially be attracte…

The obvious rejoinder to this is that women want specific traits as well that don't have much to do with what their grandmother thinks make a nice boy. Dancing is kind of the CEFR C1 level of socialising. Those seeking to dip their toes into the shallow end of the proverbial socialising pool (I know I'm mixing metaphors here, but bear with me) might be better advised to start by propping up a stool at the local bar. Women on dating apps are increasingly the same as those not on dating apps. And at this point the vast majority of women have used them. This is turning into the male equivalent of Don't date Redditors, 4channers, or guys who watch podcasts from women. It may well be that this shit is messing people up - but making everything a red flag or ick realistically means cutting out increasingly huge swathes of the population of all ages.

Women have the instinctive sense that a men ever ending up in a situation where he is in a physical struggle or contest with woman in the first place is too weak. Physically imposing men, women feel, will never end up in such a situation in the first place, because women will be too intimidated to start anything. As a result, women associate men who end up in physical struggles with women with general weakness, women find weakness in men sexually and generally repulsive, hence they are uncomfort…

True. This is a real generation gap for me, it's definitely a weird new millennium thing. Breaking up especially with a long-term GF after 3-5+ years isn't a consequence-free decision, either. That can hurt women, too. Obviously, no matter what you do, you're fated to choose, and doing nothing and rotting alone is also a choice - I'm just wary of easy answers. Just do X. Often X (in this case, breaking up because you loved getting off but don't really love her, not that much, and don't want to be trapped) will hurt somebody, whatever X is. You. Her. Society. Understanding the woman doesn't help. The reality is that not only is marriage boring, but the man in particular often seems diminished by it, which isn't sexy to women. But women don't want to think about that and will call guys incels for doing so, even though they're not wrong.

The most obvious thing that could be done is banning Tinder-type dating apps. The South Korean government could easily do this, as it has one of the most restrictive Internet environments of all developed nations - and it successfully blocks North Korean websites such that they are inaccessible even with a VPN. This is a restriction on freedom of course - but banning these apps could be justified on the grounds of public safety and fighting the spread of STDs even before chuddy incel reasons.

In (your) theory, no-one is owed anything. Everything is a social construct. In practice, humans are social creatures - and so will behave according to set and evolved patterns. It is always both amusing and terrifying to remember that human beings are only slightly different from what they were 25,000 or even 50,000 years ago. I have an analogy here for you: Men could almost entirely avoid the risk of being trapped by unwanted pregnancy if they exclusively dated elderly women. They don't do this, though, because they are entirely unattracted to them. Any video of a balding man using minoxidil or a toupé will get flooded with negative comments – from OTHER MEN! Hair loss treatments are more taboo because of the belief that they carry unacceptable health risks. You're on more solid ground with toupes - I think they've become more socially awkward because of the decline in wig culture generally. When wigs, hats, and headwear of all kinds were more in vogue, they seemed more just another accessory, rather than a way of hiding oneself.

I don't know if this is quite the same phenomenon though, OP. I think there is a sincerely-held belief among many men that it's most manly to become attractive to women only directly through power and influence over the world around you - and that making yourself pretty is somehow effeminate. I actually strongly disagree that this is some eternal rule - there is a long history of men being fabulous and absolutely not effeminate - or homosexual for that matter. To be fair, the difference is that a lot of guys have to do something with their life to attract any women at all, making it somewhat more understandable for them to wait. men are desperate for validation and will fuck anyone. Even the ugliest will have someone to dick her down. I don't know if this is actually as true as it used to be. I take your point, and I actually agree with you that it's unrealistic for every man to have an average or indeed any young woman. The reason, I think, why so many men have decided to be Staceysexual overnight despite it being even less realistic than ever is simply because the social context of dating has changed. 150% true. Average guys are pathetically grateful (usually - and if they're not, they're definitely not going to let on), and Chad is just on Cloud Nine all the time, and so takes it gracefully - unworthy women clumsily trying to steal his seed is just another daily hazard for him. There is no reality check. People like attractive people and don't like unattractive people (as much). Due to media, social media, and dating apps, nobody wants or needs to settle - they're constantly bombarded with images of the best of the best - settling isn't normal anymore, it's for losers. I don't think women are entirely alone in this. Being excessively blunt can hurt other peoples' feelings especially in a context like this one for obvious reasons - so it's avoided. It's simpler than that, OP. Women want men who are in charge, for obvious reasons. Men in charge have the resources, the power, the protection to offer. Wrong. When a man is really attractive, it's not shameful to be shameless. Because women care much more about attracting Chad's interest than they do about the opinions of the loser rage-wanking in the corner. It's also an age thing - younger women are actually more interested in sex, so their behaviour around men is more honest, impulsive, and free of ulterior motives. Depends how it's said. If you say it in a way that emphasises how bitter, lazy, and unmotivated so many men are today, then saying women aren't attracted to most men sounds justified, even righteous.

Sorry. I didn't mean to run away from the argument: my original comment is still here. The end result is what it is, though. There's obviously a spectrum of "harmful shit" - and if men feel like they're in an open-air prison and everything they do is subject to the female imperative, they're just not going to feel very masculine - and you end up with the society we have today.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/25 12:45 PM

The unfortunate but obvious rejoinder to this one is that society forces men to do things they might rather not all the time: from individually taking on the burden of supporting children to defending the country in wartime. This is obviously a limitation on their freedom, but society insists on it anyway. Personally, I think that we should live in a more collectivist society that socialises all burdens - women don't like having their future happiness depending on the character of an individual …

I'm pretty sure for example more Ukrainian men are being killed than women in the present war, tho. I'll admit to not really having looked into it, but I'm fairly sure the Germans went after men more than women during their invasion of the USSR as well.

I suppose it is true that for example in the Israel/Palestine conflict and in places like the Congo, soldiers and fighters do brutally attack women perhaps just as much as men. I might have a sort of a Western blind-spot, as you suggest.

Not really. In conflict, (mass) graves are mostly filled with mens' corpses*, while women switch sides. That's how Nature works. :/ * Obviously, some women also die in conflicts.

Men know for a fact that women (mostly) want men to be outgoing, dominant, doing things in the world, not changing nappies and cleaning the house. It's basically just like with men being submissive in the bedroom - a minority of men are into it, but the vast majority of women find it a turnoff. It's usually simpler for all involved for men to do more of what both comes naturally and women usually expect.

If you're not following Rules 1 & 2, you're not going to be okay. People think That's too simple, but it's not really. Sometimes the truth is in face very simple.

Women want power, the way everyone does and for the same reasons - having power gives you agency and the freedom to do and get what you want. To have your way. The inconvenient part is that they are also sexually attracted to men more powerful than them, and also the idea of men dominating them. This creates an obvious contradiction and problem.

You take my point, though. It is rather sobering for aging men to realise that aging women may feel the same about older men as they did at a younger age - but are now open to settling. You may be quite right that trying to date young women is still embarrassing and socially unacceptable and/or unaccepted for the vast majority of older men - but that might be a better argument for getting out of the game entirely - if it turns out young womens' preferences reflect what most womens' preferences r…

Why would the older woman and her friends, family, and strangers not think the same? Are you telling me 20-something year old women conveniently start loving ugly, old, stupid men as they get older? Why would they? This is the one argument that women make here that never really makes sense to me. They will wax lyrical about how fat, bald, wrinkly and disgusting old men surely seem to young women - but then will swear up and down at how older women are just gushing over these same characteristics…

I think people are somewhat deceived by this idea that women really want equality in relationships - in truth, I think women really do want Great Men, men who are larger than life, who accomplish great dreams or at least aspire to them. However the closer to his age he dates the more likely he will find something reasonably genuine. What does genuine mean? Older women willing to settle for Chud because Chad doesn't call back aren't necessarily much or at all more genuine than young women dating for free food and presents - they're just digging for comfort, not money. A sobering thought.

There's a lot of conditionals in your post. Many men are just drifting. Many men have debt and/or not much savings. Many men have let themselves go/lost their hair/both. Many men are not in a position to date anyone particularly attractive - some are not in a position to date anyone at all.

/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/25 04:02 AM

Women could always choose to date only conservative, religious men that feel an obligation to have a relationship. They could even - wait until marriage, quaint as that sounds today. If they did so, many more men would seek to do the "right" thing, as it would also have become the expedient thing. People respond to incentives.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/25 08:12 AM
2

True, but just overall being attractive means you'll have much more opportunities in the first place, after every time if and when you screw up - also the Halo Effect means that while Chad can get a reputation as a creep depending on how often and why he blows it, with Chud it's more of a certainty.

The amusing but also sad reality is that the real reason for rejection in dating is almost always one and the same: Failure to follow Rules 1 & 2. Almost any or sometimes literally any of these reasons will be cast aside if the man (or woman; realistically more often man) is otherwise attractive enough. Which is why OVERALL following Rules 1 & 2 better is the best advice for anyone who wants to improve their dating.

The reason they aren't offended as you might think is that men generally have a very weak identification with one another. People have all kinds of different experiences in life that effect them in different ways. Some more sociable people will have had all kinds of issues of their own: breakups, consent issues, surprise babies/abortions, STDs, etc. They just move forward anyway. If you insist, I suppose you can call it "damage" if you want - or you could just say, things happen in life, and what happened to OP is just one kind of thing that can happen.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/25 03:41 PM

The whole thing - just like your comment here - reads to me as a giant self-indulgent, BetterHealth-inspired word salad. Why is isolation necessarily a problem? You don't need to "grow". You are who you are as a result of your experiences - you don't have to judge yourself negatively for not living life like in some teen sex comedy when you were younger. I admit I didn't read the whole thing very carefully, because it made me dizzy just looking at it.

I don't think this is a good comparison at all. Dating apps change how society works in general; they dramatically effect how replaceable men themselves feel - and are perceived by women. Women oppose re empowering men because of cultural propaganda. This might be tradcope. The darker reading of things is that women oppose re-empowering men, because they respect only the man able to empower himself and rise above the mass of men (even him doing so in coalition with other men is suspect - they want him to do it himself, i.e. heroically, which isn't very practical for 99% of men).

The top 10% in a bar or club is different than a dating app with thousands or even tens of thousands of people within a 10 mile radius. I agree with your assumption that the most attractive men in any given social context will attract a disproportionate amount of attention, but to say that these are the same things is obviously absurd, even if you want to quibble about how many people a woman can practically meet in a bar or club context.

I think you're mistaken to assume that women didn't feel different about their husbands before the current dating landscape came about - and you're speaking in absolutes. Without apps: Top men still monopolize attention (just at bars instead of Tinder). Average men still struggle (but now with less visibility). This is delusional - the game was different before apps; in any bar at any given time there are only a few dozen people and you're usually only going to talk to some of them - on dating apps, you can potentially introduce yourself to hundreds of people in a short time. I don't know why people blatantly cope like this.

The below 80% of men should strive to get dating apps removed And yet this is precisely why most won't. Being upset that dating apps exist is not exactly a pussy-moistener - generally speaking it's difficult to be a reactionary against the Sexual Revolution without signalling to society that you aren't getting any. The bar to being an attractive chud is even higher than the bar to being an attractive man in general. You have to basically look like a male model to pull this off.

Let's be fair, though - the trad crowd (ideally) want you to couple up with someone as soon as possible. The idea is that if people date and marry as soon as possible, everyone involved is at least young and pretty attractive and fuckable because no-one's gotten (that) fat yet. This is not well-organised and it's hard to understand. My opinion on the betabucks meme is that pure betabucks is rarer than it used to be because quite frankly fewer men than ever are in a financially dominant position in a relationship. He can probably have his night with an escort and then go back to being productive in the world. That's depressing, though. And think of the language you're using... productive? Why? In what way? Producing what? For who? The whole Dealing with the problem, Getting the poison out attitude to this... driving force seems squalid to me. That's just me though.

Ultimately though this will be empty and a waste of time. Even if it makes you a bit happier, it's for the weak (sorry for the judgement). Life should be entirely purposeful, and filled with sincere emotions and motivations, for better or worse. Better for a man to be filled with sorrow loneliness and spitefulness, or even anger and hatred than tepid, lazy contentment. Especially a man who's failing at life entirely should not take this path - and instead (ideally) use his negative emotions to d…

Well yeah people got bored and got rid of it so here we are now. Different strokes for... different generations.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/25 01:20 AM

I mean, you're right - but in the old days we had something to deal with this problem: monogamy. If we have an expectation for people to stay with one person they picked first, this stops them sleeping around without being shunned by society and called cheaters and slags. Crazy idea, eh?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/25 01:16 AM

Society will have to reckon with why people don't have hope in the future and are attracted to the griftosphere in the first place. But that is more difficult.

They know exactly what they want - a powerful man who can have a close relationship with her from a position of strength. In modern society, though, it's hard to be strong - most men realise they're going to be on the backfoot, which is why they flee from deep involvement or commitment with women.

I think it's more important at the extremes, i.e. avoiding scrawniness or obesity is more important than being ripped or whatever. But we also quite frankly have to keep in mind that infidelity is a thing. Just because you see a man and woman walking around together doesn't mean she isn't getting something from some other guy on the side.

The analogy isn't perfect, because in this particular market the "products" may be withheld and not go on auction at all. There needn't be a wakeup call of any kind, the products can be kept on the shelf forever.

No Red Pill flair, so posting here. Red Pill changed/declined because pickup and casual became more risky in the era of social media, MeToo and AreWeDatingTheSameGuy. Another thing that happened is that the Red Pill gurus got older and started to question the point of it all. Enjoy the decline is easier said than done, especially if you're the one on the decline. No family, no future. I think another part of it is that dating apps started to make the idea of everyone just playing around forever …

Being in a somewhat or entirely loveless relationship was a better deal in the past for both men and women than it is now. Housework used to take more time and was more necessary without washing machines, vacuum cleaners, and processed food. If you were a somewhat successful man and lived in a whole house rather than a bedsit or whatever you were going to need a woman to look after it, so why not a wife instead of just a housekeeper - even if you weren't over the moon you were still going to hav…

No-one is starving. That is the difference between not having women and food. Even if some angsty teenagers occasionally get so upset no-one is playing with them that they get a gun and start blowing people away.

Everyone is a selector - because everyone has the choice of staying single.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/25 11:32 AM

Women and men don't have to have everything in common. Some women actually like having different hobbies and interests than their husbands and it makes them feel more womanly to have their own things and see the man having the same. Other women like doing everything together. The fact that some women get annoyed or irritated with mens' hobbies doesn't mean everyone will. Let's face it, lots of people generally end up breaking up for all kinds of reasons. Playing the same video games or watching …

This is also part of it. People here tiptoe around it, but a massive reassessment of feminism by society almost certainly would mean women losing out. Some things are a zero-sum game.

The elephant in the room here is that people hate losers and whiners. No matter how correct you may be on any given issue, the monkey brain thinks about men: If you're complaining you're not winning, and If you're not winning, you are literally on the wrong side (because the right side is the winning one). Feminists didn't have this problem, because whining and complaining is more socially accepted if you're a woman. Some guys even have a sort of fetish for it: Google sajiao.

I was more thinking of the redemption arc of being successful at an older age (academically, financially, etc.). Some guys get all wrapped up in the idea that this is a sign of not really being the right stuff compared to Chad who is successful in high school, but in fact if this tendency to persevere is itself considerably innate and hereditary along with every aspect of one's personality and tendencies, then this idea may be mistaken. Potentially disturbing implications for the notion of free …
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/25 02:36 AM

I agree - plus even for the blackpill people, the truth is that personality and perseverance are likely somewhat hereditary as well. Meaning that if you push through and become successful (and this isn't just a dating thing, but an everything thing) despite some serious flaws, this isn't necessarily a case of you defying your "genetically determined" fate - being a winner may have happily been in you all along, just the full expression delayed. You may in fact not "become" a winner or worse "pre…
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/25 02:12 AM

My impression here is that a lot of men are (understandably) worried about someone else sleeping with their girlfriend or wife (especially in the case of the latter because in the event of her leaving you it usually means her running away with your house kids and half your money). Society basically forces men into rather one-sided committed relationships, then makes fun of them for not being good enough, big enough, successful enough, etc. when what happens happens. Some men get so tired of worr…
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/25 02:30 AM

I don't think so, simply because the biological nature of the two sexes is such that women will always be more afraid of men than the other way around (even when this is irrational due to changes in society). We actually do know what it's like when women are like this: just ask (or be) Chad. In reality, men can be somewhat irritated by and tired of too much female sexual attention, but it doesn't seem to cause the same level of upset that the reverse does.

I guess you're right that that was an oversimplification. Real traditional conservatives always had a hankering for censorship against porn, communists, etc. Perhaps it's more accurate to say that the libertarians decided leftists were more dangerous and so have given up some of their more liberal ideas. American discourse is always a little weird, because ideas (like freedom of speech) that were traditionally thought of as being liberal are often now thought of as "conservative/right-coded" and…

What's started to happen is that everyone's openly playing the same game: openly using every strategy they think may help get "their" group at least a little more power and grind down the other side. Until relatively recently conservatives were still playing libertarian, and liked their self-image as guardians of freedom too much to openly seek to muzzle their perceived rivals and enemies, but now everyone is essentially on the same page. Because why not seek to stop your enemies spreading their…

The nature of modern society does in practice make people more discontent and dissatisfied though, and the sense of infinite options in dating is just one part of this. Mass media with its infinite audiovisual imagery of every place, person, and luxury imaginable for thousands of miles around, the Internet which allows you to communicate instantly across these distances and the technical possibility to physical travel thousands of miles in a day create infinite opportunities for... chasing or at…
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/25 02:27 PM

Unfortunately though if you don't age exceptionally well, your life is going to be in general less fun as you get older no matter what because of physical decline, responsibilities or no responsibilities. 30 isn't the new 20 and cant be.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/25 07:22 AM

I'm just saying, I'm not sure women actually do know what they're doing. Young(er) people of both sexes don't really know what they're doing. My point is, while men really hate the I've had my fun, and I'm ready to settle down now thing, I suspect the first half of this is more biological than wilfully Machiavellian. Young women are doing what they do for the same reason that young men do what they do (when they have the opportunity). It's just Nature. Not wanting to be the settle-down guy is un…

No flair, so posting here. Not to be captain bluepill here but I think some women honestly don't realise that they're "hunting for a beta" or whatever. They're getting older, they're slowing down, they want more comfort and predictability... I can see why men would want not to be wanted for these things, but I also can see why older women may genuinely start wanting different things in life. Part of it is that as I myself get older, I understand it personally a bit more, through my own experienc…

The real reason you know the narrative is bollocks is that the usual suspects get more upset with age-gap relationships when the older guy is an undersocialised, inexperienced weirdo. If they were really worried about manipulation, pump and dump, cheating etc. they'd be most worried about rich, smooth-talking, handsome player types, but no - they're most worried about shy, socially awkward guys supposedly trying to get what they don't deserve.

Posting here because no flair. I think what's started to happen is that everyone is getting more superficial because of social media and dating apps. Men are more effected by this in terms of having chances to date because of the massive ramping up of competition, but for precisely the same reasons as some men, older and less attractive women will have a worse time in society now than they used to, because... ... guys on dating see no particular reason to favour women of their own age. Especiall…

They are, but it's not the 2000s anymore, older women are all on Facebook or whatever too instead of TikTok, and are perfectly capable of causing a man trouble. Maybe not the extent that young cute things are able to raise veritable armies of angry women and white knights as well, but again it's a matter of degree and not kind. I still don't think this is going to be a particularly convincing argument - and the sort of men most likely to actually change what they do in the dating sphere based on…

I actually agree with you in the case of the vast majority of older men. The problem though is that even though its impolite to be open about it, a lot of older women are also using older men for their money or comfort rather than because they're really attracted to them. Some older men will perhaps decide it's better to live in a pleasant fantasy than an unpleasant reality.

When she divorces you, just get a younger and hotter woman to replace her. This is not going to be an option for the average slob who ends up in the gutter or at least some awful bedsit because she took half, let's be real. Then again, average slobs aren't going to be divorced by hot young women because they will not ever be "lucky" enough to be in that position in the first place.

Moreover, social media and TikTok encourage people to air all their dirty laundry. You don't want to be the target of some vague accusations about how you took advantage of a younger person. And these accusations don't even need to be substantiated to cause damage. This can happen regardless the age of the woman. This is less an argument for dating older women in particular, and more an argument for MGTOW or whatever. Also, men who choose women based on fear, social respectability and what TikTo…

Oscar Wilde was seated next to an elegant lady at a dinner party. The conversation became animated and contesting, and Wilde asked the women if she would go to bed with him for one million pounds. The woman was flustered, but upon consideration said Yes, she probably would. Wilde then asked if she would go to bed with him for five shillings. The woman exclaimed indignantly, “Of course not! What kind of woman do you think I am?” Wilde replied: “We’ve already established that, madam. Now we’re jus…
