I completely agree with you, I hate being fake and pretending that I actually like her for who she is (sorry that sounds kinda deep) but I really do like this girl. What would suggest is a "rom-com approach"

How would I do this? I feel like I escalate way too quickly, mainly because I'm not so good at small talk or filling in gaps. Especially showing interest

Thanks this was really helpful, what would be the kind of things I would say to her?

its a good response. It means she doesn't want you thinking she's weird or something

Though with good game, personality will overcome looks. Girls will believe that you've been a toned/muscular guy your whole life, I look at my past self as a learning experience rather than something to frown upon. People change, so have you. .

there's a card game, forgotten what it's called but if the card is true than you have to take a shot

I was in this situation, told her I loved her, but I knew deep inside I didn't really mean it. Tbh it's pretty obvious but you should listen to your heart. You feel bad , but yes, at the end of the day it's your life and you should do what is best for you. If you love her than that's great for the both of you, but if you're honestly not ready than you gotta tell her

I guess you wouldn't be missing out on anything, but you might regret it later on in life, as you didn't "experience" it fully

Don't bring up the other guy + don't say you understand if she wants to pursue him. It's only you and her, right? Your plan is fine, she seems interested in going on a date so you should just be straightforward with it and plan when you want to meet

Definitely don't use your normal "game" on her, if she's sending mixed signals then a good thing to do is provide value and show that you would be someone she would want to date. Also show that you are the type to stay around, not so much the "nice guy" but get good at things like story-telling and things that make her comfortable to be around you

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
