Even a relatively small age gap - 22 and 29 - was disastrous for me. He flipped out after three months of paying all the rent (which we discussed) while I was looking for a job right out of college. He was making six figures. Yeah, bye.

This is so true! I bartend part time while I build my career and the owner of the bar I work for is brand new to the business (he used to have a nerdy desk job). He got so swept up in the bar owner lifestyle he started cheating on his wife of 10 years with one of his twentysomething bartenders. It's the entire industry - late hours, pretty employees, plentiful booze, everyone is social and outgoing. Weak people will get chewed up and spit out.

That’s bullshit about the exercise classes, if it’s a fun/adventurous sort of class it’s usually great for socialization. There’s an arial silks/flexibility place in my town and all the women there are super nice.

Not OP but as a dog owner who works full time, I’d adopt/buy an adult dog thats already relatively trained and just wants to chill. Take some vacation time to bond and establish a routine together, go to a couple training classes, possibly crate train if necessary. Once back at work you’ll have to get up early to exercise them before you leave, and again after work, and it would be helpful if you enjoyed outdoor activities on the weekends.
