Child support goes down as custody goes up. Fight for the custody and save yourself money! Be in your daughters' life as much as possible. Seeing their dad one day every couple weeks is far more disruptive to their lives than going back and forth. I started the 50/50 custody thing, back and forth every week from when my children were very young and now they're teenagers. Boy am I glad I was in their life at least half the time, not only for the love, but because sometimes someone needs to be the…

There is absolutly a silver lining. As time goes on you will start to realize more and more all the things your ex didnt do for you. You will realize you dodged a bullet. The signs were there but you were blind. The fact that your marriage ended in divorce is proof of that. You are free now to find real joy, real commitment. Congratulate yourself, love yourself for what youve accomplished in life. You are raising daughters. You are supporting two housholds. Thats increadible! You're free now to …

Judge was male. Sitting at my ex's table with her in the courtroom were three female representatives of the Child Support Division. Their emotion was totally over the top and unnecessary. They were deeply defensive of my poor suffering ex-wife and their office is dealing with "dead beat dads" all day long. You would have thought I was on trial for murder or something. My salary was impugned by 50% more than I actually earn.

Here in the US we often allow for a third party to be present to assess the property before and during the move out. Your lawyer (or the UK equivalent) would be ideal. Can you have someone on your side there to ensure the order is kept? On my ex's move out and subsequent property collection events I had a friend watch her and her friends take everything she was allowed and no more.

Our situations sound similar ($5k/month). My only hope is that an appellate court will look at the evidence in a few weeks. Family law in Arlington, VA is deeply flawed. Is there any hope for you to get a change on your court order? I ask knowing the emotional drain to fight injustice is terrible. I wish I had the fighting attitude that some of these dudes in this sub seem to have.

It depends what state you live in. If you live in a no-fault state it doesn't matter that she's cheating on you. Otherwise you might have an advantage there. If you live in a rural area, go consult with all the best lawyers in your town and ask them the same question you ask here. Consultation fees are worth it. Can't say the same about the retainer. But most importantly, if you get to a lawyer first then they can't consult with her for conflict of interest.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
