There is a lot of misinformation around, especially in the US and US media. You could do that but you won't get informed consent because a baby can't give informed consent. You have to wait until he comes of age, which would solve the problem brilliantly. It you want it you can have it, if you don't you aren't mutilated against your will.

Thanks for a more level headed response. I still don't agree that the US law respects free speech more than Norwegian law does. There are lots of exceptions in the US as well, so it's not really quantifiable.

Yeah because letting you name your kid "Slutty McFartface" is much more important than letting you protest police brutality or tell the world about massive surveillance being done by the government. Only Norway has tons of oil money. The Scandinavian countries also consistently rank among the top of countries in most international rankings like press freedom, social mobility ("american dream") and happiness.

The issue of male rape victims being ignored has been doing the rounds in several of the big national newspapers the last week. It's great to see that in what is usually ranked as the most gender equal (read: women's rights) country, the public debate is also welcoming ways to keep the pendulum from swinging too far.

We are beginning to see the problems of the gender based approach to solving problems. Anorexia is in no way a gender based problem, but the support in place is aimed at women only. Just like domestic violence and rape, people are suffering because problems are tackled based on gender instead of generally. I agree. But parent was suggesting that it was most prisons. It's scary and completely rediculous, but it's just a small percentage for now. It's important to be consistent and honest when arguing things like this, if not people will shoot holes in our arguments and ignore the actual points.
