I think that this is a straight forward domestic violence case not a men's right issue. That he broke her collarbone indicates he used a significant amount of force, more than "just pushing her away". It's probably a good thing that he will lose his job as a police officer. I think the lesson here for other men is that it has to be a conversation that can leave no doubt where you stand and what will be done. My wife and I had that conversation before we even got married, I told her that unlike every other decision we make I wasn't going to budge on that one. It was a deal killer for me and we weren't going to have a child unless she was willing to agree that there would be no circumcisions done to any sons we had.

I dunno, while some obviously consider circumcision to be ok I see it as a form of genital mutilation. Obviously the parents feel the same way. The anger that it happened despite their clear instructions against it won't go away. And as others have pointed out the only way to make the lesson really stick for the hospital is to nail their asses to the wall.
