I work for tips and know what it's like to get a big tip, so as long as they do their job and make sure my glass is full and don't drop my food I give them 20%. I always start at 20% and adjust based on service, but I'm lenient. Starting with 10% is fine, and I just said I'm a nice person, therefore I like to tip a higher %, I wasn't trying to imply that bad people tip <%20. Plus, if I'm splitting a check like in my original post, an extra 10% of half the order isn't that bad.

Uh, I work in the service industry and while I don't agree with the fact that they have to work for less than minimum wage I know that the job can be tedious so I give them a tip. Also I'm a nice person. looks at user name, reads post again ಠ_ಠ

IDK, I don't really talk to him about politics anymore, and when he did bring it up all we did was piss each other off, plus I kind of owned him in a conversation once and we just haven't talked about it since.

My step dad is like that. When I was kid, I looked up to him, he was awesome, worked hard, liked video games, and was a lot of fun. Granted he's still like this, he's a big nerd, he's a trekkie, plays games everyday after work, loves the superhero movies, then once I started learning about politics and whatnot, I started to see subtle things about how he acted and what he said. Turns out he's a big Fox News nut and listens to Rush and Hannity quite often. Whenever politics comes up, it's always …

I know they're straight, but it just doesn't seem like something a straight person would do. When I out with my guy friends I don't try to impress the bros. But as you said, they compete at an insane level.

or the awesome line of, "I don't dress to impress men, I do it to impress other women." and swear they're 100% straight.
