It is a thing, we are sort of hardwired to be attracted to what feels safe and familiar. I still think it’s creepy though.

And this is why women have hard time of it speaking up about many issues. There’s always that concern in the back of your head that says “uh oh there could be major consequences” and sadly it’s not unjustified, even in safe spaces

And worse still, comments on news sites, namely the daily fail are blaming the NHS for this event.

I don’t know where to start with this as there’s so much else wrong, but..why publicly admit or claim that as a grown man you have “Peter pan syndrome” clearly just been rejected by women of his age, and needs an excuse to protect his ego. we aren’t in neverland you big ol perv grow tf up. Ew

Username checks out We can also start by educating and empowering the younger ladies or any women in our lives and setting good examples which I’m sure if we are here we are trying to do. I will counter patrol if I see anything!

Oh dear lord this is taking me back to my super cringe pick me days where in a relationship with a NVM I had to walk to and back from his in the dark, in a dangerous neighbourhood, I didn’t have to but god knows why I did. Anyway I bumped into a childhood neighbour (a guy) while out one night shortly after dumping, blocking and deleting said LVM and on telling them that I planned to go home now, was tired, they asked did I have a cab and I said no, it wasn’t too far, I will walk. Him and his bud…

Yes, me too - he did this a couple of times early on but for the last few years remembers when I’m due each month and buys me a shopping bag full of my favourite snacks and wine as well as any supplies I might need, I never asked him to but he does it each month and it really takes the edge off.

They used to do this brazenly in UK tabloids not too long ago with “glamour models”, they would have a daily or weekly countdown and then print a topless photo on their 16th birthday. I can’t believe it still happens pretty brazenly with young talented famous girls. Or anyone...

100% agree. In the UK it’s still 16...makes no sense to me

The therapist part made me laugh because even in my pick me days I was like “may as well make a living from this shit” and proceeded to do so.

But at least women are saying something and they’re publishing it I guess. I don’t know what to think. Shouldn’t men know this all by now?

I think he denied involvement... but there was a music video or film he was associated with which shows someone pretending to rape Lana del Rey Either way, I’ve always had my suspicions with him and it’s really sad that this is only coming out now

I’ve never felt more confident and comfortable and loved myself more than I have since turning 30, I guess I don’t really acknowledge the wall as a concept in my day to day life anyway lol. Maybe I’d worry about it when I was like 25 but now I’m too busy working on my career and other things that are important to me like that

This can definitely be the case but also, this isn’t always true (source-work in mental heath care) Often people do reach out for help before attempts, and sometimes do appear manipulative (usually applies to people with personality disorders) People with a personality disorder diagnosis are often considered manipulative, but also very high risk because they can be very impulsive and can also use this as a way to cope with severe emotional disregulation. There are also people who are genuinely s…

Just casually drinking my night time tea, browsing the news from across the pond (I’m in the UK) and then open reddit to see this directly after seeing what trump is doing now 😂 bahahahhaha

Am I the only one who thought this meant Jim and Pam as in, Jim Morrison and his fellow heroin addict wife who died soon after him? Because that one has actually happened to me 🤣

I had this on a little card given to me at a workshop for what I can remember as being for young and unconfident girls about 15 years ago . I wish I payed more attention back then 😂 but my mum found it when she was moving some stuff and I still have it

Came here to say this, but also add that it doesn’t even have to be an absent father, and can just be the way your parents/mother/absent parent treated you. We can also feel more comfortable around individuals that behave how we are used to being treated and mistake that for chemistry. Sometimes women will actually feel bored, or really awkward, or even “the ick” when trying to date healthily individuals with secure attachment styles. A tip for anyone wanting to go more in to this is look at you…

It’s okay I levelled up majorly and am doing way better than he ever will, he has a daughter now so I’m told, and I wonder if he’d let her date a 30 year old when she’s 17 🤔 but yeah I would always aim to call out the men and try and empower the young woman in the situation, I feel like in 99.9% of the cases the young woman is vulnerable or is dealing with some issues to be dating someone that much older anyway and probably needs a bit of empowerment

Ugh it makes my skin crawl reading things about older guys with teenagers. I was once the teenager in a relationship with a much older lowest of the LVMs and it nearly ruined my life. I was almost 18 and he was approaching 30 when we got “together”. I was a vulnerable young pickme but he knew that...and I’m 30 myself now, but still sometimes feel hurt that none of my family or friends even raised an eyebrow, literally no one ever said anything, and I promised that if I ever see anything like tha…

My cycle can be a bit all over the place at times, and although I do stock up, there are times when I realise I am out or running low. If that's the case he will usually go get me chocolate at least lol

While I’m still assessing whether my partner is a HVM, to his credit, he will always go to the shop, get me period supplies if I need, usually he’s out the door so fast he will ring me when he’s in the aisle and ask if I need heavy, regular or a mixture, then usually returns with wine, chocolate and some feminax and will sit and rub my back. It’s very nice. This guy in the post has some serious issues, I hope she sees the light

Sad anecdote, me and a group of girls having a discussion once all shared the same experience of being catcalled the most frequently between age 15-21 with it seemingly slowing down after that...I remember being 15 and thinking it was a good thing because the older females in my family told me it was when I complained about it. The men were usually much older 🤢
