You'd be surprised, this is the mentality in South Africa. And yes it is strange who is pushing for circumcision in the religious sphere. Really bizzare to see Christians push for it when circumcision isn't part of the law. Spoke to a female friend who was pregnant with a boy. It's going to sound weird but I brought up if they were going to circumcise and she said they will think about it, said that she works with kids and the boys who still have foreskin tend to get infections from using the bathroom and they get into a lot of pain... To me that's just a terrible excuse, as a parent you should teach a child how to clean himself.
