Kansas law sounds stupid af. Why would a doctor being involved magically make the documents legal? Is said doctor also a lawyer and writing up these documents? There is no crossover... Also, isn't this case at least 10 years old? Has there been any change in the law, or what was the outcome ultimately?

So apparently the anti face mask crowd is totally fine when it’s ICE agents wearing face masks Im not "fine" with them wearing masks....but Im also not the one having bricks thrown at me, have a bounty on my head, or have a bunch of black blok asshats following me home to dox me and my family while in their own masks to keep from being ID'd. As for the hard working people comment. You're talking about modern slavery and illegal crossings/human trafficking to support that. If you want something t…

The whole covid thing was wildly bullshit with all it's fear propaganda and constantly changing rules. Don't wear masks. Wear masks. Wear TWO masks. The best thing is to be outside, but we're going to make it a crime to occupy any public space and maybe even your own outside property. Natural immunity isn't a thing anymore, let us stick you with needles or you might lose your job! They used any excuse to shame and bully people over the bullshit. Toxic masculinity, the "Experts", calling you unin…

Because sociopathic behaviors based on the targeted group's identity, and the attacker's identity, is acceptable by society now days for some unknown reason. It's a culture problem, and like so many others created by lack of consequences.

for chopping down a tree Theft and destruction of property Damage to historical landmarks totaling >$0.8M USD And abject unremorseful behavior 4 years seems lite, and downplaying what they did to "chopping down a tree" for some internet outrage points is shitty behavior. This is a terrible hill for you to die on.

The only thing you did wrong was going back to pick them up. Should have just walked away from the whole thing and let them all catch a cab. When they called you tell them you saw what she was doing with another guy, hang up, and either dont answer the callbacks or block the numbers

I think it's the other way around, but who is copying whom really isn't as important as the fact that they are doing this sort of Orwellian bullshit

Europe is becoming an authoritarian shithole...again... Wasn't it CBS that just showed German police raiding people for their posts online?

Or any number of the pure truck haters here on reddit. Never knew I was an evil pedestrian murderer with a smol pp for buying an F150 until reddit told me so, repeatedly.

I agree there shouldn't be two different investigations since they could conflict or not share findings/evidence, but there should be at least one into claims. While I would rather have the police investigate claims of abuse, assault, or harassment, frankly I would have been happy in my case if anyone looked into anything. So what do you do and where do you go when you don't feel safe at home, or on campus but no one is willing to investigate?

The victim should be treated as a victim, but without the condemnation of the accused without a proper hearing and say.

Colleges should be involved if any part of the assault or harassment happened on campus. That said SOMEONE should investigate all claims of anything thoroughly. Im having to change colleges right this minute because an ex who wanted out of a lease free and clear made a bullshit report of abuse to a third party agency(effectively bypassing the police but being removed from her obligations of the lease and footing me with the total bill after she wouldnt even move her stuff out months after she go…

prime example of how law enforcement agencies de-prioritization and systematically neglect crimes against women Wait....do these people even live on the same planet? If anything it's exactly the opposite with how they pursue, investigate, and convict these crimes.

Depends on the state and how sentencing works there. If the jury is in charge of sentencing than the judges comment is completely valid. I think however in Utah the judge is given a recommendation by another agency who evaluates the crime. I don't know if the judge is in any way bound by this recommendation, but if he is the comment is valid once again.

You know when I registered at 18, some 12 years ago now, it didn't bother me in the slightest. Years later now, and I have seen the world and grown a lot from the stupid naive kid I was then and it does offend me. In a society where it's supposed to be all about equality there are glaring lines etched in the sand that put people into classes. It's not just gender, but within the last 9 months of my life I have learned first hand about the glaring inequalities of the gender side of the argument a…
