comma I get toxic shame when this happens. I tend to try and rationalize why she does what she does, and ask what she asks. I'm working on it, do you have any tips that help you through this?

My added advice, don't tell her off. Your not a hamster, she is... Don't be an emotional turd. Simply advise her not to do that and that you don't appreciate it. Or better Amused Mastery, "I don't keep my condoms in there anymore"(might be a sore topic if your overdoing the dread)

Listen, honest good men don't lie. She's the first officer of your ship, do you think Captain Picard didn't tell his first officer where they were going? So you can either tell her the truth, "I went to grab some coffee and read a book". Or you can be vague, " I went out". You are not at the point yet in all of this where you need to worry about Agree and Amplify (I'm into all of this as well, I'm not good at it, and I am not integrated enough to use this tool). The key is you don't have any obl…

She's taking my assertive behavior as being a jerk. The dog thing just pisses me off. Once again, she called me over from what I'm doing to take the dog out. I asked her if her legs were broken - I'm not her butler... if you sense resentment that would be right. I'm opening my eyes to all of this crap she puts me through and it is making me angry as hell. I'm trying to do as you guys say and keep my cool, but I really want to tell her to quit treating me like a fucking doormat, her legs aren't b…

I'm trying to straighten myself out as well. However finding your way is tough, and every situation is different. It's taken me a while to see how it applies to my own relationship. Firmly grasping the concepts to be able to put them into practice is the hardest part for me. It's one thing when you ask the same questions over and over again expecting an answer that matches your blue pill desires. It is another when you don't fully understand the concept you're trying to apply.

I totally agree with this comment, he made the effort to attempt to call her back and explain his point of view. When she didn't it was indeed disrespectful. I do think he could have tried pulling her aside, but I think that would have been futile, when proving she was childish and disrespectful in the face of the morality of it, she couldn't disagree since he was and knew he was right.

Awesome job! I find a lot of these books boring and far to "direct" by relating them to a popular TV show, even though I haven't seen the show, I was enthralled and it helped to make exact sense of what I should be expecting from the relationship as far as command of the relationship. Are you really writing a book? If so, I would love to be a test reader if needed. I've read a few and you've even replied to a few of my questions with these types of posts. Thanks again for your work in the commun…

I told her I was going to buy a security system last night. And I was shocked when she didn't disagree. I'm doing the research now and will probably order it first thing in the new year. It was a breath of fresh air telling her. I didn't even justify it. She justified it FOR me (hardly happens) by saying that it would give us piece if mind and yada yada. In the past I justified everything to her for validation. I'm turning over a new leaf, I'm fighting for myself and I'm loving it so far.

I've never explored what I want, I've never been a guy to want much. My gaming habits point to me being attracted to the outdoors, but I feel lost when I am - and of course you can guess that is uncomfortable to me.

What's the worse that can happen, I end up frustrated and unhappy, alone? I like those odds. I'm trying to earn it. These books are long, I'm trying to get through them. Then I'll revisit after I've grasped the core concept.

When you said that about being scared instead of angry, I think that's it for me as well. I've never set boundaries, hell I don't even know what boundaries are or ones I should have... Or how to even communicate that there are consequences for going over that line with me. I hold frame for about 1 minute, then after the initial part of the conversation is done, I lose my train of though because I can't communicate what I want... Because I get confused on: is what I want more important than this …

I just fleshed out the covert contract I have here thanks to this. I do care what she has to say, because I seek her approval, if she doesn't like it, that weighs on my decision to follow through on something. If she's okay with it, I feel better or neutral with it. I shouldn't care if she cares if I go. So long as I want to go. If she gets pissed that's her own shit to deal with, and I am not responsible for her happiness or fixing her issues with it.

That is so helpful. Do you have any insight into what you tell her when she asks where you're going? Sometimes I say I'm heading out, and its immediately where are you going, what are you doing, when will you be back. I started Agree and Amplify with her, but she just gets pissy and says, "why do you always not tell me where you're going?"

Don't get me wrong I live for me. And I would be fine without her. However I'd rather be with her than without, simply for the wellbeing of my child and my own happiness should I be able to get MY OWN act together... I'm not responsible for her happiness, and I cannot make her attracted to me. All I can be is attractive and hope she gets the point.

Thanks for the story, it sounds a lot like my situation growing up. My mom bipolar my dad a AFC verbally abusive male (never really beat me) my bio father was an alcoholic who severely verbally abused me and even physically fought me once. Thanks strat, I felt like I needed to call and text her back, sure. The only reasons I could think of why I'd feel guilty not picking them up is because of both childhood upbringing (mom pretty much raised me alone with a beta dad) and the anxiety I get goes away. I have the, something must be wrong. But now that I think of it nothing is hardly ever wrong. Also, and I know its wrong per TRP, I feel bad when she gets angry because I didn't pick up, regardless if I'm having a good time... I just t…

I've done about half of the exercises and worked through them. My main goals right now are distance from her, as well as finding some friends. Once I get those friends, I'll be starting them again. I don't know how you guys go radio silent for a whole day. I went for two hours and had two texts and a phone call. Then ignored her more and talked with others when I got to the holiday party. It felt great. She was miffed a little - I barely said hi before running off to mingle.

Another question. She always makes these condescending comments and asks questions... I wish I could convey to her that I'm making the best decision possible that I know how. She says stuff like, "you've been a jerk to me lately." How do I respond to that. With a big hug and say, "now now. Thanks for the post. I read about this in MMSLP but my issue is I try and she pulls away after like 2 seconds. I say, "I want a kiss" she says, "you just had one". I can't get to 5 let alone 10 seconds... And getting a tounge in there forget about it, only during sex which isn't happening.

She's pregnant, and I've been told I should slowly administer dread. Also I did mention that, "when we got married I put my penis on a leash for you, I'm not beating it, and no one else is using it - but it needs to be used." I thought about jerking it into her hair while she's sleeping and say that I had a wet dream about this chick off TV. And it wouldn't happen if I was being serviced properly at the pussy shop. (Beta me would have never thought this...)

This sounds like it holds a lot of gravy. I'm a VERY logical and decisive person and rarely ask for outside input - by asking her questions I think it would help her to see my side of things and have her feeling a slight compassion in all of my recent changes.

I'd say when I'm setting boundaries or being assertive. "Please don't talk to me like that, I don't speak to you that way." Or "You need to call a doctor if you don't like the one you have" (Normally I wouldn't care, but she is carrying my baby and needs blood work)

I have to bug you. You sound like you were in the same boat I was in. My question is the sex part - the part where you mention (now I help myself) how long did it take to get to that point? Its been about a week since I started changing my attitude (I have been going to the gym and dropped 40lbs prior. I need my physical frame to push my mental frame). I think of frame as the structure of a building... What its made of. My frame is simply what I WANT to be made of, WHO I AM. If my frame cracks I'm liable to quickly fall down. Therefore its imperative that I can keep my frame in tact. Even if it means removing the building from the storms path until it passes. Over time the frame settles and becomes stronger, and more resilient. Right now my frame is cracked and will take time to mend, but I'm doing my best to keep it from breaking ever again. …

Right now I only initiate at bed time. Her common excuse, especially now that she is pregnant, is that she doesn't feel good. This to me is a hard no. I was pretty distant yesterday. She kept asking what was wrong, is their anything wrong, and being sweet "I love you" she would say (testing to see if I was alright I'm guessing). What I gather from this is that I shouldn't ever justify myself to her (or anyone). By responding at all I lowered myself to her level. My hardest part is hearing all of her snarky shit. I really don't want to put up with it but I do (most likely due to covert contracts.) Now if I want to go and do something, she'll likely ask what I'm doing who I'm going with and when I'll be back. That egoless existence sounds a lot like stopping caring about what others think about you in all cases (almost meditative zen like) stopping approval seeking and just live a life where you love and improve yourself.
