I'm sorry, but talk about burying the lede. The assault thing kinda changes the whole story. No one can blame you for being cautious with her. Sounds like really bad timing. If she wants to meet up again, she'll reply. If not, maybe she just wants to forget that day and leave it at that. Either way, it's likely no one's fault.

You're probably worrying a little too much about the ramifications. If you do happen to misread, sure it might be "legally" assault, but it's not like you're going to get locked up, unless you're trying it on a girl you have zero rapport with, and even then, it's not going to be something that a proper apology can't fix. I guess that's a possibility, but it's kind of a stretch. Like, a person has to be so super racist that they won't even take the 0.1 seconds to look at you while giving a reply, and only see your skin but not your other physical features to evaluate them. I can't even fathom how that'd work out. When I see a girl, I don't need to take ten minutes to figure out whether she's hot or not.

Racism is prejudicing someone on the basis of their race. Emphasis on the prejudice part. Thinking a guy is a criminal based on skin is prejudice. Thinking he's a criminal when you see him rob a bank is not. You can't prejudge an openly displayed feature.

It's not a paradox. Top performers can accept that they're great at what they do and also have the drive to constantly improve themselves. You can accept yourself for who you are and want to also improve yourself as well. That you have a ways to go from being the best at anything you do doesn't mean you aren't also perfectly fine at it already. You're a human being; you're already doing fine. It's up to you to accept that.

Actually I think it's more than likely that he has sockpuppets upvoting the link. There's no way there's that much voting action going on for a 5th rate article like this. Even the mod post at the top right now is sitting at 100 or so votes.

I opened up and told some of them that I had social anxiety and I wanted to talk to strangers to improve my social skills. They smiled and accepted to talk to me for 5-10 minutes. There was also a few approaches where I didn’t state my purpose and it made it weird in the long run. I learned to state your intent. It doesn’t always have to be right away. I learned to state it eventually or risk hovering around without a purpose. Interesting opener for those with AA. Just flat out say the obvious.

It definitely depends on the context. Obviously if you use it off the bat, it's creepy. But compliance tests aren't supposed to be openers. They're there for you to use when you've hopefully built some connection with the girl, and a compliance test confirms it.
