I do think men need to realize that they don't need a romantic partner in order to have a good life. But if you're going to marry, you need to be fully committed to that relationship, and divorce should really only be for instances where the other partner isn't also willing to fully commit. (And before I get any comments about it - abuse (which is a very real thing men face too) is something which inherently proves the other partner is unwilling to fully commit.)

Well, the school system does teach us of the concept of innocence until proven guilty, and we are taught that it's in the constitution and that that's how the law is supposed to work if that's what you meant, but every day we're surrounded by listen and believe bullshit here, any small amount of due process that we're taught in the education system is undermined by all the rape hysteria, and all the outrage that happens when someone isn't immediately fired for merely being accused.

If you do go to HR, you have to be careful. Regardless of the circumstances, when anyone goes to HR the company automatically assumes that employee is a liability for a lawsuit, so be sure that you are ready to find a different job when and if you go to HR. That still doesn't mean you shouldn't go to HR, but you have to be careful about that.

I too wish that this subreddit was growing faster than it is, but most social change is slow for a long time before it finally reaches a point of critical mass, at which point it starts to rapidly gain support. I think they should have equal rights, because both men and women are people and they both deserve to be treated as such, not just one gender. With that said, I don't think that equal rights and same rights are the same. For example, if you made laws describing how patients who seek help from a therapist should be treated, it wouldn't be equal if you made the treatment the same for both men and women, because we know that different therapies work better for men than for women and vice versa.

Groups like Bloodstained Men and Intact America are making progress in the U.S. It will probably be about another decade before we start to see things put into law, but I honestly don't think it's as impossible as it seems. After all, there were a lot of religious stakes with gay marriage, but that was able to get passed. I think at first giving men equal rights will be piecemeal. It will probably start with things that are already gaining traction, such as banning all genital mutilation and not just FGM, or recognizing the fact that men can also be victims of sexual harassment and rape. In Finland no one is genitally mutilated as a baby, even though it isn't technically illegal there. Only 0.0008% (or 8 in a million) adults require circumcisions for medical reasons. Yeah, part of the problem with sexism in movies (and just in the arts in general) is that usually it is impossible to be certain if the portrayal of male and female characters in a movie is indeed sexist, or if characters of one gender behaving differently from characters of another gender is merely a coincidence. Another messed up part about that is that both the Bible (for Christianity) and the Qur'an (for Islam) condemn circumcision. The Qur'an condemns body modification that isn't medically necessary in general, and the Bible specifically condemns circumcision. Obviously, even if those two religions did require circumcision, it would still be wrong to perform genital mutilations on people against their will, in the same way that if you worshiped a volcano God it would be wrong to forcibly sacrifice so…

It still isn't as bad as r/sex. In that sub, if you speak out against male genital mutilation, even if you do it in a very mild tone, they will outright ban you for "body shaming," despite the fact that genital mutilation is itself an extreme form of body shaming.
