Yes It was hardly an ideal setup, for Gen x. Led to a lot of broken marriages and financially destroyed men and kids that wouldn't otherwise exist today if I had to guess. The sexual implosion of Gen z is borne of way too much accurate information, whereas we suffered from entirely too little.

I think people underestimate just how massive an impact mass media plays in this. For Gen x, pretty much everything we knew about women we learned from John Hughes movies (and "Better Off Dead", if you were a little fucking weird, like I was)-- so in other words we didn't know a goddamn thing about a goddamn thing. I mean sure we knew our parents were miserable we but we just kind of figured that's normal when you're old, we were still quite sure we'd find our perfect girl and ride off on a ride…

fair point-- my very first job was at a mall movie theater- i had pick up all the candy boxes and popcorn buckets of chubby girls after they finished caterwauling along with "Witches of Eastwick" and "Dirty Dancing".

I'm a registered Socialist and I don't disagree. Those blue gals have really taken the dipshit baton and run with it.

Acting like feminism isn't an anti-male gyno-superiority hate movement in 2025 is like claiming that klu Klux Klan is just perfectly nice marginalized white people asking for equal rights. It's just militant white gender supremacy for women. "The Proud Girls", basically.

For the sake of argument I'm going to assume you're a woman. For men, friends are dandy, but you can't fuck 'em. I'm pretty sure to most men fucking and the corresponding affection and intimacy is important. If you don't get it, even if you have friends to hang out with, you still go home and go to bed lonely. Are you telling me that this is a foreign concept to you as a woman?

Here is your free crash course on you being fucking gross yet being blissfully unaware. Donations are welcome. Women DO tell each other to hit the gym and focus on career. This part isn't gross, but patently dishonest. Women tell each other they're amazing just as they are, and that thier career will NEVER define them, because they are SO much more than that. Notice how women who get out of a relationship start looking better? They focus on themselves. So, so gross. As if looking good for your p…

Does he? I mostly ignore both of those guys. Trump because he's Trump and Mamdani cuz he seems like the kind of "progressive male feminist" that's one broken NDA away from being arrested for a basement-full of undocumented 14yr old sex slaves.

If they could I'd imagine they would. Hormonally influenced gender differences in brain function make group social cope oftentimes impossible for men. The equivalent would be telling a lonely girl to hit the gym and focus on her career.

Agree to disagree. There's a name for countries with only one political party but I won't repeat it because it's been mightily abused of late. An unchecked right-wing theocracy isn't necessarily that much more appealing than blue-haired bullring vaginarchy.

Can't say I'm overwhelmed with respect for people who somehow managed to make it into adulthood while still retaining the reasoning facility of a snotty tween. Not only was the pig metaphorical, the thrust was that men and women BOTH are flipping the exact same pig coin, the only difference being one side bears wet'n'wild lipstick. I weep for the future

That's neat but these are just cultist buzzwords that are meant to signal virtue and fealty to a hive mind, but are essentially meaningless in real life. For instance I doubt that you gave your car away to a black person today walking on the side of the highway because you're so amazingly "anti-racist". Nor do I think it likely you popped over to an Indian reservation and handed over your house keys to a single mother in a trailer. Also would be surprised to hear that you packed up all your shit…

From where you sit you apparently have no access to the news. Otherwise you'd know about the yawning Gap, particularly in gen z, widening between the genders' political leanings, the massive shortfall in male voters voting blue in the last presidential election, the countless headlines of the last few months with the media wringing its hands over the collective male abandonment of the Democratic party, the widely mocked 20 million dollar study that was authorized by the Democratic party to figur…

The term is Practically universal now amongst the social media generation. using terms like "boyfriend" and "girlfriend" are now considered icky, as admitting that you're CIS-HET is super uncool, so it's a subtle way of poaching some queer/trans street cred, or touting yourself as an "ally".

" I also haven’t heard of the term “women’s loneliness epidemic”, so I’m pretty sure there isn’t a huge problem on our side." Do I need to draw you a map? If it wasn't for Reddit I wouldn't know that gen z can't track prior references, allusions, or subtle wit of any kind. just stick to purely literal "cat in the hat" level discourse and spare yourselves the heartache, folks.

Do you really think I would subject myself to Sean Hannity any more than I would an episode of The View? I've been hard left since my first mock presidential election in the 2nd grade, and I'm quite capable of observing in real time what's happening to my own party.

The notion that ANYONE seriously thinks the average woman should (or would) take a single second out of her day to "help out a lonely fella" is so patently absurd it's mildly insulting. Nobody is asking for that or even thinking that. If you took a random sample of women and they all actually told the truth, and you asked "do you think society would be better off if 'incels' just killed themselves?", 91% of them would bark oh hell yes, and the other 9% would just cackle until they got light-head…

This sounds a bit too polished, like it's AI-assisted social engineering to stop mass shooters. Normal human females don't write stuff like this in their spare time, it's simply not how life works and we all know that. This is clearly the product of some kind of graduate study program about toxic masculinity and recording how many likes and responses it gets.

Also, and this is a bit borrowed and modified heavily from Bill Burr, there's a reason you let 13-year-old girls babysit. It's because it's "work" another literal child can do. And it's about as grueling as popping some pizza rolls in the microwave and flopping back on the couch most of the time. You're not digging foxholes in the frozen Hürtgen Forest here ladies. Let's take it down a notch.

Might be worth pointing out that that ALL marriages are by default are financially abusive if you're a male and you live in the United States, not just the conservative ones, but those definitely moreso since your wife is essentially just another lifelong dependent.

The core contradiction at the heart of the neutron star of feminism is always going to be-- "being drawn to beauty is an unforgivable offense, but also how DARE you not find ME the most beautiful- and use ME ALONE as the standard of beauty for the entire human race!" Just a humble little request, on paper, surely. Imagine a world where "feminists" accomplished their stated aim of actually being treateD as "equals", and were held to the exact same standards of accountability as men (no vote unles…

I'm a hetero male, and I have what might be deemed a statistically medium-high body count. I've never had an interest in marriage or children, nor do I feel like there's any particular reason for people to stay together once they're bored with each other. Not that I haven't stayed in miserable monogamous relationships for years and years just because I was doing what I was asked to do. But in hindsight that was a huge mistake and I wish I had just racked up more numbers. What I can tell you with…

Your average white woman lives something like 8 years longer than a white man, 10 years longer than a Latino man, and 13 years longer than a black man. How short do men's lives need to be before feminists stop howling and we all stop pretending that women are somehow oppressed by modern medicine? 60 years? 50? 12?

His whole shtick is that men need to come to heel and be obedient and compliant wage slaves for women, otherwise they are a "danger to society", like roaming unneutered pitbulls. The end goal is that women get anything they demand immediately(what the man actually wants out of life is of course entirely irrelevant )-- and that men need to "man up", work their asses off, and STFU. He neglects to mention the part where those men wind up discarded, financially destroyed, and homeless when those wom…

That's a bit bit beyond the scope of the overarching forces that have shaped 200,000 years of homo sapien adaptation, versus roughly 10,000 years when technology became at least as important as biology. Clearly what makes a '"winner" in 2025 AD is vastly different than what made a winner in 200,025 BC. To revisit primordial human life is not aspirational for most people I don't think, at least not for any more than a weekend at most, so coming to grips with the rather overwhelming weight of our …

"toxic masculinity", in it's purest form, primarily only impacts younger boys, mostly in elementary and middle school, who aren't high status. It's largely enforced by "alpha" boys(or at least what passes for that in the sixth grade)--but girls are definitely there in the wings cheering it on, a bit of a harbinger for what's to come. It becomes less relevant during later high school and college as people migrate to their own subcultures and schoolyard culture is, ideally, left behind. "Toxically…

Academia has just become a luxurious playpen that's essentially now just used to cordon off preening overindulged women with college degrees who have absolutely no practical use in society. It's mind boggling to me how many trillions of dollars, both public and private, go to this effort. They invented a whole new corporate industry called HR just to quarantine these women and give them an endless array of microgrievances to ligate the very problem that women brought to the workforce, i.e.rarely…

I've been glib about this but I understand your concern. Wholesale sneering contempt of the opposite gender is not the way...oops I accidentally just defined feminism... But mirroring that clearly in no way elevates the conversation. the facts on the ground are that men are going to dominate in any performance based metric because that's what we are hormonally evolved to do...
