My ex finally moved out in early February. The court order said she had 90 days to get her stuff out. It’s still here. I have to go to court again about this. Since I’m having to go to court about this, I’m also throwing in a bunch of other things that she has violated from the MSA and Court Order. I’m done being easy with her. Sad that I couldn’t enforce the 90 day rule, but my attorney said it may hurt me in the long run. Complete horseshit. I can almost guarantee if roles were reversed and sh…

Shit, I did all those things before the divorce, so it was a very easy transition for me. If anything it was easier, less laundry and less food to make

Can’t that be reversed?

This is 100% harassment. Go to the police and request a Temporary Restraining Order. Save all the videos. She will be removed from the house and in about 3 weeks you will have a trial where a judge will decide if the order is final or not. Save all the videos.

Yea, I spent the year of the divorce process and the the 6 months since going to therapy and feel way better

Im in my mid 40’s and recently divorced. I’ll be honest, most women my age don’t do it for me, but there are obviously exceptions. I’m not looking to rush into anything and am enjoying the next few years before I commit. I won’t say that a 40-year old woman is off my radar, but may be hard, you likely have dealt with trauma and maybe someone younger wouldn’t have dealt with as much. I don’t want to be someone’s therapist. Get over whatever happened to you in your past relationship, I for one kno…

Lying to people about you is the last straw for me. I recall a time when during the middle of the storm my ex was acting super hostile. I told her the following: “stop telling lies about me, or I’ll start telling truths about you”. It felt good at the time, but she had no shame. Kept disparaging me. Now we have a civil restrains court order, so now I’ll take her to court if there is proof of her talking negatively about me.

This doesn’t even help as much as it should. I have 4 cameras in the house, was wearing a body cam and my ex still said I pushed her down a flight and I was removed to 3.5 weeks until we got to court and she dropped the TRO. When the cops brought me the TRO I said I have a camera that shows nothing happened and the said due to the judge signing off on it, I had to leave. Broke my heart to leave my kids like that. But on Thursday she has to officially move out and I move back in. Good days finall…

Don’t have a child with her. That’s the worse thing you can do. The second worst thing is staying in this marriage. You laid out a very detailed timeline, don’t undo all of that with hope something will change, it won’t

I was wearing a body cam that I bought off Amazon. She knew I was. Still told police I threw her down a flight of stairs. This was Jan 3. I’ve seen my kids four days since then and had to leave my house. Final hearing on Thursday. I can’t wait for the judge to view the tape, including my nest cam footage and see that she lied. I want makeup time with the kids and want her out of my house. Even with evidence, they seem to err on the side of the woman. I will be following up with the police to fil…

This is my scenario to a tee. Why did we all marry the same person? Anyway, I have a few more months before she moves out, but I’m also about 2 months from paying her out and at that point, when the house is officially mine, there will be some new rules in place around here. My rules. I’m very much looking forward to it.

Yes, in NJ at least, since she was on the mortgage she was entitled to half the equity. She paid half of what I paid on the down payment and paid about 20% of the monthly mortgage payment for the 14 years we owned it, but at the end, gets half.

I am in the process of finalizing a refinance as is required to take her off the mortgage. I’ll be doing a cash out also to pay her portion. It’s going to be tough sledding for a few years, but for my 2 kids and to keep some consistency, it’s a price I’m willing to pay

Throw away my property? That’s a whole other issue. My ex doesn’t have access to the recordings, but she has tried in the past to involve police on BS claims and since I was able to show that what she said didn’t happen, I wasn’t kicked out of my house, didn’t lose time with my kids and didn’t have to fight a criminal charge. She didn’t know they were there at the time, now she does and she acts accordingly. We all need peace ma.
/r/Divorce_Men25/09/25 01:25 PM

Why get rid of the camera? I completely disagree. You need to protect yourself vs BS DV claims. I told my ex (officially divorced, but cohabitating until she finds a suitable place) that I’m recording all interactions. She doesn’t raise her voice at me as much, only to the kids unfortunately.

They were supportive of the relationship while it was going and once it was over and they saw how happy it made me, that’s when they felt comfortable expressing their feelings. As a matter of fact, many of them that attended the wedding, threw a “divorcing” party for me, opposite of a wedding. At this party I was gifted money to help with this divorce. So these friends and family, about 40 of them gave me a gift, which helped me settled the financial portion. If they were going to use this as am…

Yea this ain’t it. I’m not grieving any of that. My friends and family were so happy I won’t have this anchor holding me down. I chose poorly, felt like I needed to save someone 15 years ago and that someone is no longer the same person. Maybe saving her made her different, but I have one life and I’m going to make it the best I can

I’m past the hurt, emotionally there is zero hurt. Financially is a different story. I’ll be fine, I just think there is no incentive for decency these days. I didn’t even know that no-fault was a thing until I spoke with my lawyer, and as much as I appreciated the guidance, still felt like I had to leave for my own sanity. This was 2+ years ago

I disagree when I now have to pay support to that person. If this type of act was provable and negated support a lot of people would be on better footing

If she is doing work on her end, you should too. Prepare yourself, speak with an attorney about all that’s about to happen. It’s the best advice I can give at this point

Nope, in fact we are still co-habitating, and she woke me up this morning asking me to leave the house so she could spend the day with the kids. I was planning on leaving at noon to take my mother to lunch. But she requested I leave the house by 8am. I did. I got a call from my son that she’s been yelling at them all morning about not doing anything with her or getting her anything. They are 8 and 11, I’m not sure what she expects, but on Father’s Day, I’m taking them to a ballgame and I have th…

My court date is fast approaching and my soon to be ex, keep literally begging me to not go through with it. Claims it’s in the best interests of the kids. The kids deserve at least 1 happy parent, she’s miserable. I’ve have enough after 14 years of marriage, the last 5 being absolute shit. I don’t see any chance of a future with her any longer and if you feel that way and aren’t being clouded by another woman or ulterior motive then you are doing the right thing
/r/Divorce_Men27/02/25 01:01 AM

That’s fantastic. I know rules are different state by state, but how did you get that? We often hear of men getting shafted. Mine is going on 13 months and she is constantly delaying, in 2 weeks we have a court date and I’m hoping a judge will just split everything down the middle, which is what I’ve been trying to do, but she keeps wanting more

Hey man, sorry you are going through this. Feb 12 2024 I had her served and for the past year she has literally done nothing except go to work, come home, watch Netflix and eat the food I make for my kids. I have a hard time saying no to her eating because my kids will see that, but it’s coming to an end one way or another shortly. She literally asked me before our last mediation that I agree to stay married for another 2-3 years so she can finish some higher education degree and when I said no,…

You won’t pay child support even if she has them slightly more of the income disparity is that much. In fact she will pay you child support because the child standard of living needs to be the same at both residences. Get half of everything.

We married the same woman. I had enough, my 2 kids deserve 1 happy parent. My story will come to a head in a month when we have our court date which I hope will finalize the divorce (still a few things to iron out in mediation). You are likely in for one helluva year, but consult and attorney and protect yourself, especially if you feel she can erupt and create an even bigger problem. That will make your case more difficult. I wish you the best. A bunch of us are here for you should you need to …

Just trying to cover all my bases, I’m going to try and keep our retirements separate, mine is about 30% more than hers. I want the house, but buying her out may not be doable without destroying my retirement. Just any tips or pitfalls to look out for. Similar to the advice you gave on custody.

This is awesome man, I went through custody mediation and we landed on 3-2-2, but there are some nuances here that we may need to go back and revisit. The asset/house mediation is coming up soon, do you happen to have a write up similar to this for that one?

Don’t leave a list. It’s her doing, let her figure it out. I’m at the stage in my divorce where we will be figuring out the house situation in about a month or so. Depending on how much the buy out is, I may go for it. But it’s a 101 year old house with a lot of funky shit I take care of, I will not tell her about any of it, if she keeps the house. Either she can hire someone to do it or ask some rando guy she’s with. Her dad is as useless as tits on a nun, so he won’t help.

That sounds promising, but I’m not sure how mine will turn out. My stbx has numerous advanced education degrees ( and always claims to be the smartest person in the room ) yet couldn’t keep a job for the past 5 or 6 years. So paying for literally everything fell on my shoulders living in a top 5 most expensive state, NJ. I hope when we get to court they can limit the alimony. Any tips?

She was served Feb 12, pre-trial hearing is in 2 weeks. I went for full custody, but I’m gonna bite the bullet I think and not fight the 50/50 if she wants it. Cohabitation has sucked but at least I get to see both my kids every day. I dread the day I don’t.

I have all the infidelity documented, but I’m in a no-fault state and it sucks that she felt the need to do this and throw away the life we built and put our 2 kids through the hell they are about to go through and the courts won’t give a fuck about it. So baffling. I’m new on this sub as this is all new to me and I just found it, but I’m going to post my story soon once I work up the courage to do so. I feel like it’s important to get out there. Holy cow, this is the scenario I’m in, just started the process 2 months ago and we still currently live in the house because I won’t leave her with the kids until I’m legally forced to. I don’t really know what the alimony payments will be, but she worked on and off through the 14 year marriage and I paid for a few extra graduate degrees. I’m leaving because she fucked an ex student of hers at the end of ‘23, but the levels of toxicity was too much for me for about 4 years now. I’m going to be …
