You know, I’ve always liked Bernie Sanders

It’s funny, I’ve never seen a feminist post with an actual page (and a half) of genuine and well structured sources yet plenty of well thought out and structured informational presentations on here

But scientists have to take basic statistics courses so they know how to parse the data, and they have to provide well constructed markdowns of the results and the information derived from those results otherwise it is considered bad science. Feminists don’t.

Perhaps more like a drug you’re addicted to through happenstance and are attempting to ween yourself off. Poison doesn’t have the connotations you’re after

The best thing we can do for other men right now is offer every ounce of support and counsel we can muster because the suicide figures are becoming more and more terrifying and this is the reason why

What’s the point anymore? Clearly the default mentality for a non negligible portion of women in first world countries is that our deaths, brutal deaths I may add, must be a good thing, and that the murder of men whom you know nothing about is always justifiable. People are actually calling it humorous. And for being in subs like this, and offering advice or sharing problems or our thoughts on shit like those comments, we’d be labelled as incels or bigots or whatever newfangled words these assho…

I can’t offer much help, but I can tell you it sounds very clearly (even despite hearing only one side) that you’re doing your best and I think the decision to divorce and seek help for your daughter is the right one. Keep it up, it’ll all be worth it in the end, you will be thankful to yourself once it is all over. And best of luck with those hurricanes, don’t take unnecessary risks

I’d argue that should be considered a hate crime but what’s the point, it won’t change it’ll only get worse or get forgotten about. Best we can do is stick together and offer enough support and assurance to counteract scum like that

I regret having read this, now I’m feeling like shit in my lecture in which I kinda needed to focus lol. My own fault anyway but the collective effect of these issues that are completely ignore or even justified 99% of the time is honestly heartwrenching when it’s all together

I’m unsurprised that gay marriages are only a little less stable than heterosexual ones. For some reason they seem to work very well in spite of the lack of some sociobiological bindings that straight couples have. So good on gay men I guess. Not really helping the “it’s men’s fault” rhetoric lol

True it is less directly productive, but sometimes what we need is a little satisfaction for ourselves, even if it’s not natively productive, to make ourselves feel better and more productive in general

Eh, we’ve reached a level (pretty much) of advancement where if you want to completely change your gender it’s (mostly) possible. Though I do think people should be reliably and consistently informed that you may suffer as a result, the science is catching up as fast as it can but it takes time. So I’ve got no problem with that, if anything it’s a logical step in human advancements to create that ability for control. But just the word trans conjures the idea of a particular, quite arrogant type …

Effectively, trial and error. That’s how I had to learn, no proper male role models really, I had one or two teachers I liked a lot and looked up to but they couldn’t be there for everything, I had to teach myself by testing waters and I wasted my whole childhood doing that and it gave me a lot of grief. Being autistic doesn’t help but I can hardly look to that as the cause, the reason I struggled was because I didn’t have a good, consistent male role model in my life and let’s be honest I have …

I do see your point, and there is a good point here. But sadly the divide between ‘traditional’ women and modern women is surprisingly small and quite fragile. Feminism these days is something of a weapon, you get to virtue signal and feel good about yourself and get praised for things, and you don’t have to clean up the damage that your actions cause. You also get to take aim at people who can’t really argue back because society go brr and so many people use this as an opportunity to make thems…

I think this is a well structured and accurate take away and it quite concisely describes the movie and the issues with it

As much as I’d like to agree, if we kick opposing ideas out simply for being opposing then we’re no better than them, we ought to carefully and concisely deconstruct and counter these sorts of arguments.

I saw it, felt exactly the same. But I held my tongue at the time because my girlfriend had been bored through Oppenheimer beforehand (excellent movie, very much enjoyed it) and so I didn’t want to complain about her movie. We chatted a bit later though and she brought up the same points you just have and I then spoke to her and found we agreed entirely that it’s backwards and demeaning

Western society in general has for too long praised the ideas of standing up for yourself and changing the world one step at a time and all that bullshit, few people are realistic anymore, and without realism people get hurt because you believe you can do anything and people that are in your way get villainised. The issues many man face are just an example of the issues created by this mentality, it used to be that people knew there place in society was very small and did what they could on thei…

Put it this way, I have received no noticeable benefit in my life from society because of being a man, as far back as I can remember I’ve recognised it as a disadvantage. Any benefits I get out of being male are limited to physical. Emotionally, socially, with retards to expectations and self sacrifice, in education… I could go on. I’m fine with that being my lot in life, but the suggestion that I need to feel guilty or make efforts to fight some alleged societal convention just because I was bo…

Unfortunately most of that is superficial, even being particularly generous the amount of genuine and non-negligible support that it receives is less than half what it sometimes appears. Thought there is a slight upward trend which fills me with a little hope. And there’s also an increase in the proportion of actual support compared to the false, virtue signalling that we’ve seen in recent years. All good things hopefully, fingers crossed it won’t be long before things start to be more widely re…

I think if MMH month was given much attention and people bothered with it then I’d say that either WMH week should be extended or MMH month should be shortened so they’re equal, that’s just fair. But since MMH gets jack shit support, it doesn’t matter if it’s a month or two or the whole year, it wouldn’t benefit the cause anymore.

They do, but if there was a point to me voting in this election then I would just walk to the polling station as it’s ultimately a little easier for the vote counters.

and we have the Monster Raving Loony party or Count Binhead. Because of the system here and given my local constituency is quite strongly Lib Dem, I’m simply not expending the effort. Perhaps next time I will vote, but this round the projected local poll is completely dead set. Pretty much, I’d either waste the energy walking to the polling station or waste the saliva on the envelope; that’s how little my particular vote counts for in this year’s elections

I’m in the UK, this year would be my first year of voting but I chose not to even put myself on the electoral roll since not one of my local candidates stood for the one thing I was really interested in which is some support for men’s mental health. Literally none of the candidates from any jurisdiction from any party had this as a point, it just doesn’t get votes. Which sucks. So I chose not to vote, because I’m a mathematician and it didn’t take much effort to work out that even had I convince…

It’s because everyone is pushing for girls in STEM subjects and they’re perfectly happy to leave the lads behind so long as they get to feel good about themselves. That’s why I’m not fond of the whole woman in STEM thing, I want loads of people in STEM, every kind of person who can think critically ought to be encouraged a little. The idea that girls are held back from those fields is an exceedingly rare occurrence, more often are whole groups of children held back because of monetary issues. By…

I am a straight, autistic nerd without ADHD who has overcome depression and whose OCD is under control. I have found myself under this kind of burden for a long time, and my situation is less extreme (not really right word, you get what I mean) than your own so I can believe that your experiences have likely sucked. A lot. The whole left and right thing makes no sense, I hold a lot of views of both sides and it would put me in the centre, but that doesn’t align with my actual views on things, I …

I like you, you seem knowledgable and with a good and balanced understanding of the world. It’s rare to come by sometimes. Perhaps we both have poor experience with lesbians, so I won’t comment on the matter because I feel it would be biased. But we can pretty concretely say that they are wildly different people than gay men, and often hold different values so there’s no good reason to label them both (and others) in the same ‘community’. I am glad to hear that you have your own community, and i…

This is what I don’t like about the whole LGBT et.c thing, I happen to be very fond of people who are gay or lesbian or anything else, that doesn’t bother me. What I don’t like is that they’re all grouped together as though they’re the same but they’re massively different peoples, and they don’t even all want the same things. A lot of my friends are gay, granted I have quite a few friends I keep contact with but a lot of them are gay. They are some of my closest friends because they’re excellent…

I’m not religious, but I do recognise that theocracies are a terrible idea that subtract from the nature of the religions themselves. Even when the religion is partially about theocracy, (for instance new age Islam) it ends badly because it paints a terrible picture of anyone who believe in or supports any other version of that faith (that and abundantly many other reasons). One could make the argument that these new(ish) feminists are borderline religious in their arguments and devotion to ensu…

Ah, I’ve just looked at the national statistics and you’re right. The Lib Dems are barely clinging on in the south west where I’m familiar with and for some stupid reason I didn’t think to properly examine national statistics. Thank you for the correction

I will admit, I have poor experiences and regularly see the impacts of modern feminism on straight men, but I have done and often do overlook how it could alternatively affect gay men. I’m glad that I’ve come across this and had a chance to read up on the impacts and the issues facing gay men. We’re all in this together but of course indifference in the sexes would impact people with different sexual preferences in different ways.
/r/MensRights18/06/24 11:42 PM

Yeah, I regard first and second wave feminism as largely alright (there are definite exceptions) but it’s very rare I find modern ‘feminism’ that’s not just concealing anger at men, usually for the actions of a few singular men

And the Democrats, for the most part, balance it. Now I’m English, so I know British politics better than American, and I trust your knowledge of American a lot better than mine. But whether they like it or not, the UK Conservative Party puts an emphasis on Women’s issues to win votes, in fact all UK parties do but the fact that the Tories, quite the white man’s party, do it anyway. Not that they can be directly compared but I’m sure the Republicans do the same, and I’m sure the Democrats do the…

Maybe a bit ambiguously put, but most governments of first world countries, perhaps without intent, value female political support over the same quantity of male support. The reason, I’m not sure on although I could hazard a guess it’s an innate biological thing and that most activists who are likely to either support or denounce a government will be female. But in any case, you see it all the time in the US, UK, Australia, France, Germany (maybe bad example as Germany is quite well balanced com…

As harsh as it might be to say, I would be glad if all of those male doctors simply left her surgery and the hospital struggled to replace the staff for her. I know a lot of very good and kind women, I know a lot of cunts, I know a lot of genuine and good men, and I know a lot of wankers. I don’t think the issue is rooted in male hatred, not here anyway. Those that works those jobs work them because we need them, or because they need the money but theres always a sense of being proud to do the jobs that built and continue to build the world. Hats off to the women of WW2 London or those in the resistance in Poland and France. They stood by their comrades in life and death, they may not have been allowed in the army but they did their part. Todays women? Perhaps a fraction of a percent might be so courageous but on the whole, they don’t want to go to war, they don’t want to die beside their husbands and brothers and fathers and sons. You say this (likely unintentionally) as though it’s on men for being fixated on this, but really not only is it all a lot of guys have to work towards, it’s also all society really wants of us, is to be useful. All credit due to you for acknowledging the lack of experience rather than arguing a meaningless point. But those jobs aren’t low paying at all, and for what the work is it’s pretty good, the things you have to weigh up of course are the hours and the stress.
