A year ago, a classmate called Doirin-Holder “the most pathetic specimen of physical fitness I’ve ever seen,” saying she failed to run a required 1.5 miles in 12 minutes, stopping to walk, and got winded walking up stairs. What the fuck, I'm obese (working on it!!) and out of shape and I can do the 2 miles in 15 minutes in yet I don't get paid 80k a year? NEVERMIND, I read miles as kilometers. I can do 2km (1.2 miles) in 15 minutes, not 2 miles. Sorry!!

So basically, a "gamer girl" is just another category of attention whoring, barely related to actual gaming.
/r/MensRights30/11/13 07:39 PM

:) The fact that there is no "guy gamer" stereotype says a lot about this whole thing. Edit: I should probably rephrase that. The "gamer" stereotype is typically a male, but there aren't any groups that specifically identify themselves as "guy gamers" nor do you ever see people who try to fight this stereotype - everyone just ignores it. Why can't "girl gamers" do this? Their whole issue relies on distancing themselves of all other gamers.
/r/MensRights30/11/13 05:10 PM

There is no such thing as a "girl" gamer, there are only gamers. You either game or you don't, gender is irrelevant.
/r/MensRights30/11/13 04:56 PM

I'm just finishing a 4-year course of application development, and in these four years there have only been two girls at our course. One of which dropped out because it wasn't her thing. Just because one particular gender is less often interested in a certain thing doesn't mean it's an issue. And as OP says, you shouldn't be in this class if you have trouble doing fucking hello world, no matter what gender.

IT student here, our building is shared with a fuckload of secretary students. If memory serves me right, there are about three male students, out of ~90.
