Why even discuss feminism with them? Does the lion concern himself with the opinions of the antelope? Learn to live in such a way that you respect the person you become. If you hold high standards for yourself and hold yourself accountable to reaching them (or at least growing), you will find that the opinions of others matter less.

Doing the basics consistently and well will get a man further than most people realize.

Someone who's very skilled at doing things (a wizard), but delights in being hard to get along with, enjoys creating interpersonal chaos, or hates people (a troll)

Get very, very skilled in at least a couple of valuable areas. Men are valued for what they can provide, and your life will be much easier if you can provide significant skills in your area of work or relationships. You want to be the guy that people think about first when they're giving personnel or business recommendations. When people say, "I know a guy that can...." your name should come up if they're talking about your industry. Interpersonal skills are definitely part of that package, too.…

Don't cower around women to try to keep them from getting angry at you. They'll despise you then and will probably start shit just because they think you're weak. Just minimize interactions with women you don't know well.

You probably have to worry more about her falsely accusing you of something (theft, SA) than you need to worry about her physically attacking you. Stay out of her attention if you can; blend into the woodwork around her.

No, you didn't make her do anything. You're not accountable for the actions of another adult. It sounds like she got more out of the relationship than you did, so losing her was a net positive for you. It's hard, but there are better ones out there. You deserve better.

A woman generally won't leave a man who makes her feel good and/or provides well for her. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of guidance out there for young men on how to do either, so they feel helpless.

Your partner has a good one. Hope he realizes that. People who have been in love themselves will understand what you're feeling without needing to pick you apart over what you said. That said--the limerence phase of a relationship lasts for about two years, give or take. The initial phase is fun, but it takes maintenance after that. I don't take accusations of "narcissism" too seriously. Most people engage in narcissistic behavior at some point because there's a huge gray area between self-inter…

I concur. One of the things people crave from men is attention--whether it's positive or negative. (how many children act out to get their dad's attention?) One of the most effective things a man can do in a relationship is to withhold his attention, either temporarily or permanently, in response to his partner crossing lines. Want to cut down on the drama and the ridiculous thought experiments? Do not engage. Want to reward good behavior? Show some attention. A man's life will get much easier w…

How about some hard evidence? Narcissists may engage in feminist activism to satisfy their grandiose tendencies, study suggests (psypost.org) Why I’m Not A Feminist: a takedown of the 'narcissism' of modern feminism - triple j (abc.net.au)

Right, and I'm afraid we guys are losing because we're engaging the argument from a logical perspective without addressing the emotional aspect of it. I don't know of anyone who was ever convinced of anything major due to logic and reason. People are emotional creatures.

This totally depends on the context...what if a bear raided her campsite, and the "random man" was a park ranger? I'd be relieved that she was with the guy. There's another aspect to this: It's not safe anymore for a man to be alone anywhere with a random woman he doesn't know. He's at risk for the rest of his life.

Yes.

Anybody that takes those statistics seriously and uses them unironically is demonstrating their illiteracy of math. The error (or lie) behind these stats is the assumption that women encounter just as many bears in the wild as they do men. To compare relative risk, you should calculate how many bear attacks occured per every 1,000 bear encounters, then compare it to how many male attacks occurred per 1,000 encounters. If you were to use the same flawed logic, you could say that it's much safer t…

Traditionally, guys have vented or unloaded to a close circle of ride-or-die buddies. They don't have nearly as many safe spaces today. We've castigated male-only spaces as inherently evil. That, (combined with the fact that people change locations frequently) is part of the reason we're seeing more broken men. PsyHacks on Youtube (a licensed psychologist) says that we're expecting our partners to provide everything that an entire village used to provide a couple of generations ago--counselling …

You've got a point. Traditional women will at least give something back. However, I was referring to the feminist mentality, not to all women.

Gaslighting can also include causing the victim to doubt the validity of their own perception of reality, hence the question. See Merriam-Webster's definition. I think that the tragedy is 1) men have been given no direction or poor direction on how to handle life and 2) men have almost no support networks these days. There's a lot to be sad about society these days. Most people are selfish. Romantic relationships are a mess.

When you realize that feminism is about worship instead of equality, things make a lot more sense. Look at all the perks of godhood they ask for: Criticism is not allowed. Whatever they say is right by definition; they set the moral standard. (Moral authority.) We must give deference to their whims and moods. (Submission) We must see them as beautiful even when they're not. (Praise and worship). We must evangelize for their cause. They require ritual sacrifice (Free drinks and meals being the le…

That's the way it is here in the States. See what Rich Cooper (Entrepreneurs in Cars on YouTube) has to say about shit-testing. Too many American guys have to constantly prove they are worthy of basic kindness in their relationships.

There's something to be said for a community of people who expect everyone in that community to behave. Peer pressure works both ways.

Co-opted for their benefit. Not invented. Since the dawn of history, men have legitimately held their own ideas of what a real man is. (See the criteria for masculinity in Ancient Sparta.) It's just that feminists use the term to guilt men into being emasculated wage and labor servants for the gynocracy.

Yeah. There's always something to learn from someone, especially your detractors. It's hard to tell a youngster how to learn something from your enemies without letting them define you. If I'd be a teen who's being told that I'm a boring slob, I'd be salty too. I don't really blame OP. School is vicious.

This is very true, and it's a good starting place, but it works only if both sides are discussing in good faith with mutual respect. You wouldn't encourage a teen girl to listen to a misogynist to see what she can learn, would you? I'd be careful about encouraging a teen boy to take misandrists seriously.

It will take about 15 years. Put your head down and work so you can get good grades and develop a good work ethic. Find a great job or start your own business. You'll "win" the argument if they're still floundering while you're a successful man. In fact, some of them may at that point give their left arm to date or marry you. Remember, women change their worlds primarily through their words and emotions. Men impact the world through their wills and actions. Don't play on their playground. You ar…

...and considering a comment above, I don't know if the MRAs are ever going to be able to prove success in that area, even if they have success with millions of men. How do you quantify thousands of small personal successes anyway? Would a university even put up the money to study it? If the goals are not necessarily legislative, then legislative advancement or lack thereof is not a valid measurement of success.

Feminism asks society to give women special consideration in light of past mistreatment. The men's rights movement, on the other hand, tells men that nobody's looking out for them, so they need to do it themselves. "Do the work," one popular speaker often says, as well as "don't make a woman your mental point of origin." (Not Jordan Peterson or Tate, btw.) This is incredibly healthy for society. Would you rather be operated on by a surgeon who's only concerned about the hot nurse across the tabl…
