They're fine for inspiration but take care to remember what they show is no where near reality. They have bad days, their kids act up, they don't dress up and look perfect everyday and a lot of the stuff they're selling probably won't work. Pick and choose what works for you and leave the rest.

I had very few friends coming out of my abusive marriage. Mostly work friends. With covid and quitting my job due to medical reasons, I have 0 friends. It's hard. I feel like I've lost my ability to make friends and don't even know where to start. I'm sorry I don't have any advice, but I wish you luck :)

Therapy is incredibly important. You need to make sure you're ok and mentally healthy for your sake and your children's. And I know. I literally came from a similar situation, 15 year marriage, 20 year relationship with an abusive ex husband. You have your work cut out you, it's going to be a hell of a long road, but just keep going.

I hope she uses the house savings to hire a good divorce attorney.

"and tend to choose things that would make him happy (hairstyle, clothes, makeup, etc). " I know this doesn't work for everyone, but I love doing this! Isn't the look on their faces when they see that we've taken their preferences into account adorable?

Playing to your strengths is wise. My husband is brilliant with money, tech, investing, etc. He's far more rational in general so overall I defer to him. If I have any questions/concerns he's more than happy to address them and if needed we compromise so that we're both happy. My strengths lie more in autos (repairs, maintenance etc) and homemaking skills so I take the lead in those roles. I confer with him before I make a big purchase/take on a big project and he helps me make good choices that…

Wow, he wasn't even being original with his BS excuses. This is so cliche that it hurts. He's never going to leave his wife for you. Even if he did, he's not the kind of guy you would want. He's a liar, a cheat and he thinks you're stupid. Stay away from him. You'll waste your life waiting for him to leave his wife and you'll get nothing out of it in the end. Spend some time working on yourself and find out why you're willing to be someone's side piece. In a few months, you'll be happier, strong…

Growing my hair out and letting go back to it's natural color. I had it shaved on the sides and short on top. I loved the edgy, "don't eff w/me" vibe it gave me. But now, it doesn't go with the softer vibe I'm adopting. It's nowhere near as long as I'd like it to be, but it's a cute pixie cut now and I can do a few cute things with it. I've started wearing heels and vintage inspired clothing. Petticoats and stockings make me feel very feminine and I love it! It's a huge departure from my previou…

I've started to do this as well. Speaking in a softer tone has done wonders to make me feel more feminine. For the longest time I was "sharp" in both my mannerisms, speech and appearance. While it served me well to keep people at arms length it also kept me from being the best version of myself.

You are not responsible for other people's feelings they are. If she's not happy to hear your good news then she really isn't your friend. You're a sweet person for worrying about her and her feelings but I want to ask a question and answer it honestly. If the situation were reversed would she care so much about your feelings?

Talk to him. Let him know that you like gifts, that it doesn't matter what they cost, you just like the thoughtfulness that they show. If he has a hard time with picking things out, you can always make a wish list or a pinterest board that shows the kind of things you like. Communication is key. It prevents resentfulness from building up and keeps everyone on the same page.

I will ask my partner's opinion like "hey do you think this color/style etc would look good on me?" but overall I make the final decision. I do tend to take his tastes and preferences into account though.

There are so many different types of "pretty" sweetheart. So you're not conventionally pretty, so what? Focus on your strengths, not your perceived faults. I'm not conventionally pretty, but my BF thinks I'm gorgeous. Change what you can, enhance the features you like. You can't change your face, but you can enhance it with well groomed brows (watch all the youtube videos, find someone who looks similar to you). and make up skills (NYX is an inexpensive but decent brand to start out with). Learn…

It's been interesting. We recently moved in together after he sold his home. We're in the process of selling my home and looking for a home to purchase. Between us we have 5 kids, 3 cats and a derpy dog. Home sales have understandably ground to a halt with the virus, so that's been a bit of a bummer. He's working from home and I'm still going in to work. There's a lot going on at all times in the house and it's been a hell of a transition. My partner has honestly been a rock star throughout it a…
