It's because of federal laws known as Title IX. A university must address sexual harassment claims or they lose federal funding. University investigations are a bit different from criminal investigations. The burden of proof is very low for a university investigation. You just have to show the dude is probably guilty instead of proving guilt. A University accusation just kicks the guy out of school. It doesn't send him to jail.

If this is true then please please send that exact message to the Dean of his department or seek guidance from someone at the college that can guide you on this sort of thing. It has weird definitional issues. It technically just means the trade of people, so technically a lot of pimping counts as human trafficking. The US defines all underage prostitutes as victims of human trafficking, and that alone accounts for 40% of the human trafficking stats in the US. It's really irritating personally because I'm a hell of a lot more concerned about people selling their kids into slavery in India and Haiti, not this US-centric prostitution obsession.

This is just my personal experience, but I've found that mothers tend to be protective, and overprotective in the absence of a father. Fathers and mothers keep each other in check personality-wise. It would be very uncharacteristic of a mom to design a pseudo-death-trap like this for her daughter. Admittedly this belief is kind of coming out of my ass, but if you can show me I'm wrong I'm all ears. Just saying I'm wrong doesn't do the trick though.

If anything, I think we should be fighting for gendered price discrimination. The whole Obamacare insurance thing is basically a form of welfare for women. A lot goes into determining price, including what they have to compete against. I have no idea of what the 'right' price is, but I trust the owner of a business to not throw away money.

I can't speak to the legality of this, but I believe the practice is fine. Men and women are going to have different needs, different costs, or different abilities to pay at the gym. Not being able to price segregate introduces inefficiency, which hurts everyone.

You know... Condoms and vasectomies do exist. And not having sex with people you don't trust is always on the table as well. Women having more contraceptive options is just a fact of life. Biology ain't fair. Just because they have more options doesn't mean mean men lack contraceptive options though. I blame politics frankly. I typed up a summary of the different guests and their views. I found it hard to keep track in the program. A little context, the sub is pretty moderate and polite, and it hardly ever talks about feminism or politics. It was a very high quality discussion. A lot of the answers boiled down to "People who don't like feminism misunderstand feminism", but simultaneously a lot of interesting heartfelt responses from normal people that take some issue with modern feminism. Was an interesting read all the way to the bottom for me.
