That's what I thought, but women still get 100s of likes instantly. But the quality of those likes might be subpar, I guess.

I only tried tinder in the UK once like 7 years ago and it was completely dead for me. However, I didn't spend enough time in one place and I looked worse and had shittier photos back then. Would be fun to try again someday.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/25 09:52 AM

185 cm, athletic-ish but not ripped and not bald. Proving the red pill right, I guess.

I've been lurking this sub for many many years mostly out of curiosity and maybe to know what dating is like in the west, but had nothing to contribute since I've been in an LTR. However, we broke up this summer, so I eventually ended up on a hookup app and my experience as a mid 30s late bloomer dude has been absolutely wild to me. Granted, I live in Russia so it's a totally different market, but still. I feel like if somebody tried to turn my experience into advice it would sound absolutely ri…

It's technically true, but a lot of these benefits are compensated by the fact that the pay is not great (like, I'm expected to do competitive experimental physics for about 4$ an hour). Plus, many employers would try to employ you under the table and many people don't actually know their rights or trust the legal system enough to protect them.

I personally couldn't maintain more than one or two real conversations, so I just did my best to ignore other matches (which was hard at times since many of the new matches were quite interesting...) until one of the conversations was resolved somehow. Asking out immediately sometimes worked too, but finding time for a date can be an issue.

My mom when I'm forever alone: "Well, I would love grandchildren eventually, so you should find yourself a 20 year old to date." My mom when I'm actually dating a 20 year old: "Really? Isn't she too young for you?" Makes sense.

I get your point, but aren't you a journalist who travelled to a ton of places or something? You are like the least qualified person to call yourself average.

And look how he was rewarded for patience and loyalty. Plus now they brought a child into a miserable household where the wife has zero respect for the husband. What an inspiring story.

What are some good places to read up on nutrition, healthy eating, meal planning and meal prep - that sort of thing? I'm planning to improve that aspect of my life and I would appreciate some help.

I don't really style mine anyway, so usually it just looks normal, I guess. Mine is not that much longer than an inch though.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/21 09:55 AM

Yeah, but you are a relatively normal person and I'm a 30+ year old weirdo with barely any romantic experience. I'm not sure how to handle this.

Oh no, she lost in the power struggle and know she's at my mercy! Thank god I don't look at relationships like that.

So the girl I've been dating for three weeks already told me she loves me... Even though we did hang out a lot and very quickly it began to feel like we had known each other for ages, I can't help but be worried and think it's going too fast. I was not prepared for any of this at all.

Tennis. I used to love table tennis too and to play gk in soccer, but don't really have time for those, unfortunately.

Judging by the posts on here, many of those sexless dweebs aim to become master manipulators and thats why they want a naive young girl. Well, I can only wish them good luck with that, because as a sexless dweeb I find that the majority of early 20s women are much more jaded and socially savvy than I could ever be.

getting fit, becoming confident, not putting her on a pedestal) I may be misremembering things a bit, but like 5-ish years ago blue flaired people would literally argue with red flairs over this. However, eventually those things were appropriated by BP as "mainstream advice" and they shifted to mocking fringe concepts like the very late stages of dread game or whatever - that's when most RPs left and the sub changed into blackpill against the world with some FDS sprinkled in.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/21 10:30 AM

Well, if you install a swipe app, you will realize that there is a decently sized pool of women definitely open to dating older (since they set the age limit so high and swipe right). I'm guessing they prefer to focus on those women. Also, you need to decide if RP men are clueless sexless dweebs or experienced master manipulators taking advantage of young women, they can't really be both at the same time.

As a boring awkward dude, I feel like I'm a BPD magnet sometimes. I tend to get along with BPD women because they are usually more open to discussing meta stuff, they bring enough craziness to counteract me being boring and they often try to help me escalate lol. So the dates tend to be more fun, but, to be fair, none of them worked out long term yet.

I think I managed to violate both "no simping" and probably "don't stick your dick in crazy" rules at the same time by taking a girl on a weekend trip as a second date... However, the trip was fun, we seem comfortable together, and the sex was surprisingly good considering I barely even have the experience to know what to do. Plus, what's the point of having money if you are unwilling to spend it on enjoyable things? Anyway, I wonder where it goes from here.

But not for the "messages received" graph, I think, which was weird to me, since they use it to make such a dramatic statement. They don't really state it clearly, unfortunately. I missed the percentile thing for the later graphs, but they are the ones that look similar between genders anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/21 11:23 AM
2

Yeah, I can see why people gave up on reasoning with you lol
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/21 11:06 AM
3

So you can't? Why bother posting it again and again then? This graph also dramatically illustrates just how much more important a woman’s looks are than a guy’s. Take this part for example. For guys they are comparing 11x to 4x, calling the latter average, but 4x messages are actually sent to the 2.5-rated men, who are way above average according to the attractiveness chart. The actual average dude is like 1 step from the left and gets 1.5x? Not much. So then you compare 11x and 1.5x versus like…
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/21 10:48 AM

They clearly show that men have higher standards than women though You are saying it again and again, but give no reasoning.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/21 10:14 AM
3

Although OkCupid literally says that men, unlike women, have insanely high standards. I really don't see how you can make that claim tbh. If anything, the behavior of both genders is quite similar, look at the final response rate graph for example and message success graphs are not that different too.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/21 09:23 AM
4

Everything about the OkCupid blog posts proves that looks don't matter much to women I don't want to join you holy war, but how the hell can you say that right after linking the graph that shows how male message success rate is affected by their attractiveness? It's absurd. Also, I'm pretty sure that there was a graph with that study that showed men sent quite a bit more messages overall (tbf, the difference wasn't as big as I would have expected), but for some reason I could never find it again…

I meant she has no desire to escalate physically. Why not?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/21 03:59 PM

I've been told this by girls too, but it's really hard to internalize that when you are a late bloomer (or never bloomer lol).
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/21 01:17 PM
2

This is basically why there is no reason for me to even bother going on tinder dates. I have no clue how to escalate physically so the only way it's gonna work out is if the girl does it for me, which is obviously unlikely to happen.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/21 12:21 PM

There was an interesting (albeit kinda sad) study that took a sample of middle aged guys who committed suicide in the UK, I think, and found that the majority of them have been in contact with some service (with loose definiton tbf) prior to their deaths. So the idea that male mental health is not taken seriously might have some merit to it.

Have you tried dating as an older inexperienced dude? There is a reason people advise against dislosing that information. On the other hand, I've never heard anyone be like "no hymen do diamond" in real life.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/21 09:13 AM

But what I don't understand and want to understand is why we never quite hear about the other side: too few previous partners and lack of experience. You mean don't hear from the men side? Because many women seem to dislike inexperience quite openly.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/21 08:20 AM

It's kinda sad that my accent sounds way less Russian than his impression lol (or her accent, for that matter). Guess I'm still getting beat up in bad neighborhoods if I ever go to the US.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/21 06:18 AM

Dunno, I honestly feel I was happier when I thought I was not attractive enough to even get a date.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/21 05:58 PM

It's definitely not a great problem to have. Realizing you are boring and have no game absolutely sucks and probably makes you feel just as much of an outcast as having no dates at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/21 02:16 PM

Dunno how you would justify it being cheating tbh. But for some reason your scenario reminds me of this comic.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/21 01:22 PM

Please don't be offended, but if you can't find escorts with modern internet, you probably shouldn't be having sex anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/21 01:29 PM

You think the majority of Male PPD users have never had sex? Well I was mostly joking but turns out someone seems to think that, so you can probably ask her lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/21 01:04 PM

Well, the networking thing is kinda complicated by the fact that I live in the second world country, unfortunately. I guess, if I'm giving up on my current career, there is no real reason to stay in the country either, but that's obviously much more of a yolo move. I was considering getting a 2nd masters in an adjacent field in some 1st world country, but it's expensive and gives no guarantees either. Or maybe look through job postings and try to reach out, dunno.

It feels depressing to turn 32 and have absolutely nothing in your life figured out. Even leaving aside my dating life which definitely can't be saved anymore, there is the issue of my career. I'm certain that my current field isn't "it" for me, but I still have no clue what I actually want to do and the more years I spend in physics, the harder it is to leave. Oh well.

But the number itself is gonna depend on the total number of users at your location anyway? Also, I think it kinda rotates the top profiles or something - the likes tend to come in batches.

I'm curious, do people mean it like "average excluding overweight people" or something? Aren't like 40% of young Americans obese? Also, I have no idea where people get these photos from. Do normal people put effort into taking photos with social media in mind? It's such an alien thought to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/21 01:14 PM

Nah, I obviously failed her test for not being socially retarded, so we didn't meet. I probably would've failed it even harder in person anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/21 05:32 PM

Some random Russian dude I've never heard of with the last uploaded video title "how to make the girl come over and have sex on first date" or something like that. And the worst part is that her advice is probably on point.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/21 04:19 PM

Lmao, so I matched with a girl 11 years younger than me in my weird Russian tinder world and she kinda quizzed me about my romantic history almost from the get go. Of course, I was much more forthcoming than I should have been because I'm an idiot, but that's not the point. Anyway, then she told me that dating is super frustating for her because people she finds hot enough to fuck are mostly stupid and smart people are usually not attractive enough to fuck, so she is looking for unicorns. Then s…

The worst problem with Tinder for me is that looking at my likes makes me realize how normal my dating life could have been if I wasn't so socially retarded. I really wish I could redo my teens or even early twenties lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/21 08:48 AM

Well, then they weren't doing a good job of seducing me lol. And yeah, a blinking sign would definitely be helpful. But yeah, I honestly dunno what the process is supposed to look like. Sometimes I kinda want to borrow some luxury stuff from my father and try to make an "ignored nerd who finally got rich" profile to see whether the response would be different.

That's one of the questions I always wanted to know the answer to. Reading reddit I would expect Russia to be full of gold diggers, but none of the people I matched with asked how much I made or expected fancy dinners. To be fair, it probably depends on how you present yourself and who you go for - I swipe left on profiles with huge demands and my own profile is basically full hobo lol. Also, maybe if I actually offered fancy dinners, my romantic life wouldn't be so barren...
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/21 01:21 PM

Worthless to me, I guess? I ended up disliking academia, I don't particularly care for phyiscs and in Russia it doesn't even pay well.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/21 03:46 AM

My top 3 is not doing sports in teenage years, getting a worthless degree in physics and not trying to fix my dating/social life like ten years earlier lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/21 02:19 PM

I wish I could get into that desperation phase. Instead I just assume nothing's ever gonna happen which is obviously self-sabotaging.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/21 12:43 PM

In my experience, the issue is that people have windows of availability for a spontaneous date and sometimes it gets frustrating when your windows don't match with those of the person you are talking to - and you wouldn't want to cancel scheduled activities for someone you barely know. And, when it comes to OLD at least, if you wait too long, the interest kinda peters out. That said, couple of dates a month probably shouldn't be that hard.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/21 12:27 PM

There is nothing more polarizing that a socially awkward physicist, so I definitely got that covered.

Honestly? Yes. I don't mind the actual rejection, I just never realized how lame the line itself sounded until I was the recipient.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/21 02:33 PM
5

Wow, I actually got rejected after meeting someone from tinder with the "you are a nice guy, but..." line. Well, technically she used "interesting and smart" instead of "nice", but still. For some reason I thought the line was just a meme and not something women actually used.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/21 02:04 PM

Borderline. Haven't met any bipolar people yet.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/21 04:28 PM

Fun fact, but the only two people off tinder willing to have sex with me (well, people who managed to communicate that thought through my thick skull, I guess) claimed to have a BPD diagnosis from a psychiatrist. Dunno what that means.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/21 02:10 PM

A lot of men fear finally meeting the woman of their dreams and ruining it by being terrible in the sack. See, as an inexperienced guy, I don't understand this fear, because if I meet the woman of my dreams, I'm gonna fuck everything up way before sex. But if, by some miracle, we actually get to that point, there will probably be enough mutual investment to get through the initial awkwardness. At least I hope so lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/21 11:09 AM

Let's say a guy is 30, most of his tinder likes would be from 27+ crowd, but if he just changes his age to 25 all of the sudden he will get likes from 18-25 year olds. That's not true in my experience. I'm 31 and a large portion of my likes is from early to mid 20s or even younger, probably because tinder is more popular among those people, but still.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/21 03:36 PM
2

Of course, I don’t know which part of ‘S’ you’re in. Experimental physics - more of the qualitative kind, so my statistics and maths skills have definitely become rusty. Ideally, I would prefer a job that deals with something more practical and tangible and involvs more short term problem solving, so I don't know if data science fits the bill anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/21 09:19 AM
3

Men, what motivates you to develop your career? Honestly? Nothing. I work in the S part of STEM except the pay is garbage (doesn't matter, I guess, since I probably won't have kids or even a relationship) and I'm too disillusioned with academia to even care about moving into leadership positions or whatever. I should probably look for a different field but 31 feels old for a radical change plus leaving right now would screw over my lab very hard due to some upcoming projects...

/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/21 10:55 AM

It actually had the opposite effect on me. Basically, it made it even more painfully obvious how far from normal and hopeless I actually was when it came to romantic interaction, which was rather demotivating.

Women outnumber men in every age group of endurance running. Is this some American thing? Out of curiosity I checked the result list of a fairly popular local half marathon event and it was like 70% men. Maybe Russian women prefer different sports, dunno.

I dunno how smart you are, but you are probably overestimating the usefulness of raw IQ. Like I'm somewhere around 2.5 sd from 100 and the only person I know that I'm 100% sure is way, way smarter than me is miserable in the same worthless STEM job I have and can't leave because of perfectionism and overthinking (again, same as me lol).

It's one of the things I never understood about tinder complaints. Like, is american tinder really that hard compared to other places or something? Whenever dudes post pics for rating in other subs they don't look particularly special, but not hideous either - just regular dudes. My current pics are as half assed as it gets - basically, a couple of quarantine selfies and a yoga pic for lulz (not even a single pic in a social setting), but I still get matches. Russian tinder being different is th…

I'm sorry, but this is absolute bullshit. I work in academia and I hate it with burning fucking passion, but none of what you are saying is true. Sometimes I think casual sex would be easier, since I get quite a decent amount of younger matches on tinder. I would need to learn more RP stuff (be more forward, learn to escalate, that sort of thing) and practice, but at least it seems doable. However, I dunno if I want casual, and I have no clue where and how to look for a relationship. Hence, cats.

But that's not how any of this works, you realize that, right? In order to keep "good figure" as a man, even with male metabolism, you still need to strictly limit your calories, which might feel just as miserable to you, even if you are technically eating more food. Not that I would know since I can't be assed to track my calories anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/10/20 07:06 AM

To be honest, you chose such a weird hill to die on. Of course, if you limit both men and women to 800 calories men would lose more - they have more muscle and are heavier anyway, so they are further below their BMR. However, claiming that they have it "easier" is stupid, because the term itself is unquantifiable and unscientific. If I claimed sticking to 800 calories was much harder for men as they were missing more calories daily so they were hungrier, would you be able to disprove me? You rea…

As somebody who isn't bad looking, has a fairly respectable though not well paid job and decent hobbies, I can say that none of this translates into dating related confidence - probably because confidence is task specific. The only way to confidence is through success and the way to success probably requires some fakery, unfortunately.

Okay, I keep seeing people mention safety regarding walks and I really gotta ask this. Are American cities like an endless ghetto with wilderness in between or something? Because in my large-ish Russian city there is a fairly big area around the center part where you can walk, enjoy some views and sit down for food basically whenever you like, and there would always be people around. Sure there are bad areas but it takes a ton of effort and dedication to get there, and nobody considers those for…

How am I supposed to be sure about you if you won't give me your time? There is no way I'm gonna make some elaborate plans or even dinner reservations tbh (maybe I'm biased because most restaurants in my city are not great and I personally wouldn't spend money there if I'm alone) for someone I haven't met.

Walks are for dogs. Seriously- imagine going on a walk with a man and it turns out badly. You both just wasted your time. What? That sounds retarded. Firstly, walks are awesome and why the fuck would you want to date someone who doesn't enjoy walks. Second, you don't feel like you have to talk all the time on a walk which is good. Third, it's much easier to end it if it goes badly - I'd prefer wasting a bit of time to being stuck in a restaurant with a girl I don't care or. And it's very easy to…

Big-ish Russian city. My parents married when they were around 20 and I was born when my mother was 22, so it's similar. My peers married somewhat later, but I don't feel like anybody's waiting for their 30s to get married.

being married at your 20s is really bizarre. Is it really? I'm thinking of other guys from my uni and the only people who were not married by like mid-late 20s were basically undateable weirdos like me.

I, uh, don't really care? I'm not even sure I want to bother with dating and even if I did, I don't live in the US plus I would naturally filter out FDSers anyway. So I can enjoy the free entertainment in relative safety.

The negative posts are just women getting fed up with the terrible dating market. They have a separate tag for HV behavior that you can search by for women bragging about the men they’re dating. Honestly, just go to the sub and look at the default flairs they are offering for searching. How many of those do you think have anything positive to say about men? Sure, you can find some success stories or whatever, but it's like looking for needle in the hey stack. Also, do you think it's possible to …

Dunno if you are sarcastic lol. But, honestly, it's such a waste of time - so many matches, but nothing ever goes anywhere. I'm not cut out for dating tbh.

Unfortunately, the therapist girfriend dream is dead. We met twice, but neither of us is feeling it. I kinda think she's too sane and normal for me and I need to look for crazier people to make up for me being boring.

I think you are really overestimating the beginner gains. Your year of lifting is basically what I did, though not in a particularly tryhard manner (plus, I was playing a ton of tennis at the time, which affected my recovery), and it didn't make too much of a difference. Maybe I'm unlucky or need more time or it's hard to look big when you are tall-ish, dunno. Arms, in particular, seem like a bitch to grow, definitely gonna need more bulk and years.

Okay, there is something I still don't understand about the "incels, just go to the gym and get abs" crowd. Like, how far do you expect them to go? Shirtless pic time. This is me after years of casual sports, running, yoga and generally doing whatever the hell I liked and obviously not lifting lol. I'm generally doing okay on tinder since I'm tall and not particularly ugly, apparently, but even though my physique is probably average to above average for an early 30s guy, I'm like 99% certain tha…

Isn't it kinda hard to get to that point though? Like, I don't really lift (well, I did for a year, but got an injury later and never got back into it), but I have been decently athletic for years, have a faint outline of abs and a noticeable v taper, but there is no way I can take a frontal photo that actually looks good.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/20 08:01 AM

Why do people even care about having visible abs? How would anyone know unless you have already seen each other naked? Unless you use shirtless pics on tinder or spend a lot of time on the beach or something, I guess.

Now that I think about it, the "In the past it was easier for 30+ men to date much younger women" thread is funny to me because I always thought people were supposed to date their peers (most relationships around me were like that) and it was tinder that actually made me realize how many young attractive girls are willing to swipe right on me. And it's not like my profile shows any indication of status or anything like that, I'm just a regular guy. Maybe it's actually much more normal than I tho…

Maybe it's a dating app thing? I'm 31 and I have no issues getting along with some real life girl friends my age, however on tinder girls younger tend to be more fun and approachable. And then the inevitable follow up post "I got divorce raped by the girl I married off tinder"? Jokes aside, I feel that an average early 20s girl is way more mature than me. I don't think I even qualify as bf material yet, let alone husband.

I was kinda laughing at the whole "using girlfriend as a free therapist" thing, which is a common theme on FDS, but now I met up with a tinder match who is an actual therapist. What a unique opportunity to live the meme lol.

So I remembered that people were saying that guys swipe right on everything on apps and thought to myself: "no way this is true, I remember swiping left a lot". And I decided to ask tinder for my data. Turns out it's about 50:50 with swipes left being slightly ahead. I honestly expected fewer right swipes, but I live in Russia where women are supposedly more attractive - this might make a difference.

It's fine, she was the girl who basically did the whole PUA routine on me, seduced me and took my virginity. So by refusing I'm definitely going back to the sexless forever alone hell I'm already used to.

Looks like my boring tinder girl saga is about to end. We were talking on the phone and I guess we went a bit overboard with honesty - she said she finds my body physically attractive, but is still indifferent towards me overall. So she wouldn't make any real effort to find time to hang out with me, but is okay with coming over for sex when she's in the mood. It sounds literally retarded when I'm actually typing it, but I think this kinda made me lose interest. We will probably never speak again…

What is impressive about paying? I can't comprehend this mentality. There is absolutely nothing easier than whipping out your credit card. And it has nothing to do with your attractiveness either - first date does not cost enough money for me to care about it.

I know like every other post here was about the 3 months rule, but I'm genuinely curious since I have almost zero dating experience. What is the romantic timeline supposed to look like? Let's assume we start from zero - say, we matched on an app or exchanged numbers at a gallery, a concert or whatever. So we text a bit and decide that we should get to know each other better. We then go on an actual date. However, you are trying to not get overly invested too early, so you are reserved, let me do…

I'm very far from Chad, but sometimes I think that if I sent a straight up invitation for sex to my 100+ matches, some of them might agree (I actually know for sure one would have). Especially if I was less picky with my swipes. Maybe I should do that as an experiment when I finally decide to leave this country.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/20 02:18 PM

I, uhm, don't think I actually care? Maybe that's bluepill of me, but if my dumb awkward self is good enough for her to find irritating yet attractive, why bother trying to figure anything out instead of just enjoying it? Not like I'm afraid of being alone anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/20 06:58 AM
7

So I was about to stop trying, but the third meeting with that girl from tinder actually happened somehow. She spent like the first hour trying to explain to me that for some reason she finds me inexplicably irritating yet eventually we ended up at my place again? I give up on trying to understand anything about her thought process and instead I'll do my best to enjoy the new experiences that are way out of my comfort zone lol.

Thanks to my yoga injury I finally managed to slow down my casual runs to like 10 minutes mile pace, which should be close to my conversational pace, so I should be able to build some fitness base at least. Unfortunately, I can't do any speed work - can't wait for my leg to finally heal so that I could get back to working towards my running goals... Postponing our attempts to meet, bitching about random issues and going all meta with self sabotage discussions. Honestly? /r/PurplePillDebate18/08/20 06:51 PM

Wow, I think that first date sex tinder girl is kinda bonkers. She seemed normal in person but has been acting crazier and crazier with emotions and drama out of nothing, and I'm not nearly alpha enough to handle this. Or, rather, I think I could handle it within a relationship, but there is no way it can happen when both people involved are looking to sabotage it. I'm pretty certain it's time to go back to my mgtow roots.

Even if you leave memes and rants aside, why should I care what FDSers want? Of course, their "strategy" is beneficial to women - it is purely egocentric at its core, but there is no incentive for men to play along. Also, I'm not gonna talk about emotional intelligence, whatever the hell that is, but I'm pretty sure average man has a job and does some basic grooming and while nobody is gonna say it's a bad idea, that alone is definitely not enough to qualify him as the mythical HVM.

I don't get it. Do you expect a guy to wade through pages and pages of "scrotes bad, women queens" circlejerks and be like "oh yeah, these are totally the women I would love to jump through hoops for"? It's absurd. You have to be either very dense or intellectually dishonest if you don't realize why FDS is disliked.

I honestly have no clue. Basically, date with quiet introverted girls - I end up talking all the time, lose interest and it never goes anywhere. But with these people I somehow end up discussing domestic abuse, feminism, who should pay on dates, whether love exists, are sugar baby relationships okay and other stuff like that. It usually starts with talking about tinder experiences or something, I guess.

That's what happens when you lurk ppd for years lol. Unfortunately, now I also have a very hard time shutting the hell up about ppd related topics, so I do very poorly with nerdy STEM girls, whom I expected to be my counterparts. We sort of have a hitchhiking culture here in Russia, especially in the less inhabited regions where the public transport is not great. Quite a few of my friends traveled this way a lot and everything was fine - obviously, a bit of survivorship bias here since you rarely know people who ended up being kidnapped, but still. I'm not brave enough anyway to rely on it for actually planning trips, plus I'm kinda secretly rich by our hellhole standards, so it's not really needed.

Not exactly an incel, but I lost my virginity at 31 to a random tinder date, so yeah, not exactly normal. My issue was basically being a very late bloomer and missing out on most normal milestones. This resulted in a deeply ingrained belief in my own unattractiveness - the fact that many women openly dislike inexperienced men (even though they can't really tell them apart from average men) makes this much harder to overcome, complete inability to escalate and also some self-sabotaging tendencies…

Do you think an average person has good social skills by your definition? Because I don't think so. Most people you could meet in the real world are not particularly good at the things you listed either, and that's okay, I think. Of course, OLD adds an additional layer of frustration - girls have too many suitors, so it's harder to focus, and guys realize that it doesn't really matter how you start your conversations so they ease up on making effort.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/20 01:30 PM

I think the concept itself is kinda bad too. I don't know if I'm better looking than I thought or if tinder is not as horrible in my country as it is in the states, but I'm generally getting more matches than I could reasonably get to know and meet. OLD gives you the incentive to jump ship at the earliest convenience when something is not perfect from the start and I feel that it makes finding a relationship much harder.

Hitchhiking is such a weird and amazing concept to me. We were waiting for a bus in the middle of nowhere and my friends convinced me to try catching a ride and not only did the guy stop, rearrange stuff inside his small car to accommodate me, another person and two backpacks, and drive us 100 km to our city, he also dropped us off at our doorsteps even though we live at the opposite ends of the city almost 15 km apart. I think this sub uses its own definition of RP, ignoring the actual TRP sub, which, frankly, has been kinda dead for a while. First of all, you do realize everyone uses anecdata here, right? Secondly, do you know many people who went from nothing to rich AND had a spouse beforehand? I only know one. FDS is acting like women are being used left and right to let LVMs ascend to positions of power only to get dumped afterwards or something. It's absurd - real life is nothing like that at all. Average people lead average lives, have average jobs and overcome their average struggles together.

Where is the idea that women are particularly supportive comes from anyway? When my father was overworking himself to advance his career, my mother was anything but appreciative and she took every financial benefit for granted too. I honestly don't know why he stayed. So I randomly met my outdoorsy friend, whom I haven't seen since pre-covid days, and it turns out he managed to have a full-blown failed relationship within that time period, with cohabitation and all. And I thought him a loner and even more MGToW inclined than me... Makes me realize how much of an outlier I actually am as I can't find anyone to date at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/20 09:56 AM
1

While you may be right in theory, my OLD experience is kinda suggesting that it's me who is the bullet and that it's the women who are doing the dodging.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/20 08:40 AM

I also have a cat instead of a bear and play bass instead of balalaika. Must be fake Russian ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/20 07:54 PM
2

Yeah, total abstinence can be a big deal, but that's not what I said. I don't really find alcohol that appealing though I can drink socially, but apparently it's not enough and getting drunk is an essential soulmate activity here in Russia.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/20 07:21 PM
6

Lol, so one of the tinder matches I've been hanging out with went full casper on me for no reason even though she seemed to like me and now another woman unmatched me just because I said I don't care for drinking. I have no idea how some people can say that guys are shallow and noncommital yet women are looking for meaningful connections or something. Also, I'm worried that even though reading this sub or stuff like FDS somehow didn't make me jaded yet, interacting with actual women on apps migh…
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/20 06:09 PM
10

I mean, what incredible witticisms are they expecting guys to come up with? Many female profiles have no or generic bio and just as generic photos. Besides, it's not like women themselves send amazing first messages, so they really have no right to complain about that.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/20 05:10 PM
9

Why are you so adamant about denying guys their experiences? We know that validation from the opposite sex means nothing to you, but it's not the same for some guys. I've only been in one relationship yet I can say that being actually accepted by another person is something no amount of hobbies, self improvement or friends can replace.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/20 03:41 PM
0

The problem is, what do you do if your social circle is too small and/or male dominated and you are too shy and awkward to cold approach? At least apps give you an easy opportunity to talk and sometimes meet different people. I'm never touching social media though, it makes zero sense to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/20 02:09 PM
1

Oh wow, you still actually read this sub :D Yeah, I think I was only salvageable in uni which was like 10 years ago, all this meta knowledge from this sub is not helping either. Thing is, when I lived my sheltered life I never realized how much disdain some women seem to have for inexperienced men, it is seriously off-putting and discouraging.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 04:18 AM
2

Out of curiosity, do you test as an ISTP? Because it sounds kinda relatable. I usually come up with detailed approaches and plans for many things, but end up either doing nothing or getting super invested into the very first thing I start and forgetting about everything else lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/20 02:43 PM
2

I'm actually not particularly negative in real life. However, I really missed out on natural opportunities to learn dating skills and I'm beginning to realize I'm way too old to be learning the ropes.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/20 03:44 PM
1

I'm 6ft1 and not fat yet it absolutely didn't save me from being alone all my life. In fact, I feel like at this point it might be working against me when it comes to OLD - the women build up some fantasy of a confident seducer in their heads and get disappointed even harder when they realize I'm actually nothing like that lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/20 05:08 AM
3

Well, in this particular case: She asked me about about Tinder - I said that I went on dates, but was vague about outcomes. She asked about serious relationship - said I was in one but it didn't work out. She asked how come only one - I admitted I started dating late. Oh lucky, so did she! Except she considers herself normal now, but I'm not worthy of serious consideration. Just lol. But in general I'm usually even worse at this because there is something very meta about the whole OLD experience…
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/20 06:31 PM
1

Of course I know I'm supposed to do that, but, honestly, I don't want to lie to the people I like and I don't want to be around people I don't, so it kinda sucks.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/20 02:55 PM
1

Honestly, I'm relatively normal, all things considering, and I don't have anything to be ashamed of, so my stubbornness kinda kicked in and somehow now I'm firmly in the "fuck lying" camp. Plus, there is something morbidly fascinating when you watch a girl switch from interest to "wtf what's wrong with him" mode.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/20 02:51 PM
2

Why do I have to sabotage myself with every tinder match I actually like by being honest and confessing my lack of dating history. At this point I'm almost certain that telling I haven't had sex in 10 years because I was in jail for beating up my ex would actually be better lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/20 12:53 PM
37

Not one hundred percent related, but I was once walking around with a Tinder match talking about random stuff for about an hour, and then the topic of relationship experience kinda came up. So, of course, I admitted my inexperience - fuck being dishonest, right? Then she jumped onto a bus at the nearest stop and literally ran away. This was so abrupt and dumb I can't help but laugh about it months later. So, yeah, I'm not buying it.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/20 02:32 PM
2

Bold of you to assume there will be anything to handle in the first place. I'm pretty sure the woman will run away if the guy is dumb enough to confess his inexperience.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/20 04:32 PM
1

50" chest? This is why I'm happy I'm not a bodybuilder lol. I'm like 41"/32" which keeps me in the reasonable size range. The bigger sizes often seem to be designed with literal whales in mind.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 02:35 PM
1

I kinda did a bit, but, judging by the fact I'm already matching reasonably attractive girls on apps and it didn't make much off a difference, the only course of action at this point is a brain transplant.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 01:56 PM
5

Most clothes automatically show your shoulder to waist ratio. Really? Finding a shirt/T-shirt that fits around shoulders and is not baggy around waist is already a huge pain in the ass. I can't imagine where people who lift (and have actual shoulders and chest) even find stuff to wear.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 01:54 PM
1

My friend said the same thing about the UK before, but nobody really paid much attention to me when I was there last year - the only people who talked to me were basically bnb hosts (other than hellos from fellow hikers which happen all over the world anyway). Dunno what's wrong with me. To be fair, I usually spent time either visiting touristy places or hiding from people on trails.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 10:33 AM
4

I'm half joking, but here in Russia we rarely smile, especially to strangers. However, this particular issue is very low on the list of things that make people here miserable.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 09:50 AM
3

Well, in the end, I live in a country where people never smile, so even having no teeth would work out fine.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 08:58 AM
2

The best advice I have is to find celebrities/models with your same hairline/style. Thing is, I don't really look like a model/celebrity lol (you can see my face in the purge thread if curious). So in the end it's still me in the mirror and for some reason I really can't tell if a hairstyle is making any difference. Maybe it's hard to gauge your own attractiveness or something.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 08:57 AM
5

Do people like white teeth? American style super white teeth look really creepy and tryhard to me and it doesn't seem like there is any practical reason to do that anyway. Maybe it's a cultural thing. Also, how do you actually find a flattering haircut? I've been hearing this advice for years and I still have no idea what would look good on me.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 08:20 AM
8

It's kind of a vicious circle thing. If by a certain point in life you don't have any positive experience to fall back on, it's hard to believe in a favorable outcome, so you just do nothing. Why go out to places you hate if it is going to be pointless? Why ask out and go on dates if it won't go anywhere? How do you even game when the idea of someone being even remotely interested in you begins to seem absurd? And, of course, with that mindset, even if you do go out you will only sabotage yourse…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 04:50 AM

I really wish I could relate lol. I went to a supposedly decent school and the gender ratio was like 75% male from the start, then it went up to 90% later when I transferred to math/physics heavy class and uni was 95% male...
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/20 08:07 AM
23

So, in other words, you haven't dated in almost 20 years? I'm honestly curious, why do you act like you know anything about what modern dating is like? You don't think things could have changed?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/20 12:06 PM
4

In the end, no, it didn't really change me all that much. Well, dunno if I can really credit RP for that, but reading self improvement related stuff made me more open to various new experiences like travelling to different countries, trying new physical hobbies (from lifting and yoga to wakeboarding and scuba diving) or regular hobbies (things like camping, baking or even cross stitching). However, when it comes to socializing, I'm still the same shy and awkward person who has no idea how to be …

Really? I definitely know some, myself kinda included, and my social circle is very small. Granted, I have the benefit of being a physicist, so it's not hard to find odd people here.

/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/20 05:05 AM
11

I'm curious, have you actually been to a scientific conference? Because I have and I don't think I've seen anything like your description ever happen. Audience going crazy for a young male presenter? You can't be serious lol, it's not a rock concert. Besides, these conferences tend to be like 90% male anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/20 07:43 AM
1

I don't think I'll ever comprehend what you women here are attracted to lol. That second guy's body doesn't look particularly special to me in any way. Are you sure it's not actually him being like 6'3" and having model face that matters?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/20 08:41 AM
6

Are you even reading what you are writing? If a guy is inexperienced, you automatically assume he has few positive qualities and something about him must be wrong. In other words, you see inexperience is a red flag.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/04/20 07:36 PM
9

Can you please reread section III of the article? It's literally tailor made for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/20 05:46 PM
3

Wow, somehow every Q4W thread makes me less and less interested in ever bothering with dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/04/20 05:28 PM
5

Do you think he would admit it if he was? Even a person with zero social skills like me would know enough to avoid answering a question like that. Ask him again if you ever break up.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/20 03:51 PM
2

Out of curiosity, are you arguing in favor of TRP? Because if you look at the study, unmarried men and women have basically the same income, yet those "synthetic spouses" for unmarried women are supposed to be making 60% more than them.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/04/20 11:31 AM
2

So what exactly are you complaining about? Doesn't that prove guys don't have high standards for looks?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/20 09:56 AM
3

Honest question, what kind of videos are you expecting from guys? We can barely take a photo lol. I'm pretty sure the videos are going to be just as terrible and the results would be the same.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/04/20 05:04 PM

5'1" is obviously too extreme lol, at least say something like 5'5". But don't really care, to be honest. My romantic life is nonexistent either way and I would probably be playing a different sport if I was shorter, but otherwise, dunno.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/04/20 04:59 PM

I actually wish the 6ft+ meme was real. Unfortunately, in real life women are not throwing themselves at me wherever I go just because I'm 6'1".
/r/PurplePillDebate07/04/20 04:31 PM

I'm supposedly high T (according to a couple of blood tests) and the 1st image is much less attractive to me. On the other hand, I don't really conform to the usual high T stereotypes, so maybe I'm just a weirdo.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/04/20 01:30 PM

Come on, 90s music is not old lol. Also, I think it's like the first time I see Suede mentioned even though Dog Man Star is awesome. An underrated band.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/04/20 05:03 AM

The first one seems very very hard to believe lol. And the second guy is probably still just as invisible in daily life, though definitely healthier and happier.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/20 04:24 PM

5-6/10 or maybe a bit higher, judging by the girls who swipe right on me. I would be happy to looksmatch, but, unfortunately, it's not really a thing if your dating skills don't measure up.

www.reddit.com/r/FemaleDatingStrategy/comments/fqwxpn/the_financial_break_down_of_what_a_man_gains_from/ 100k+ USD worth of services, apparently.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/03/20 01:52 PM

It's kinda telling that your advice is to look into fetishes lol. How about a regular relationship with a reasonable adult instead of femdom? Yet it seems like the easiest way to get there is to hide your history and pretend to be something you are not.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/03/20 07:54 AM
10

See, you are all saying this stuff online, yet in practice there is no easier way to make a girl lose interest than to admit your inexperience.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/03/20 07:26 AM
1

Are women really that picky on swipe apps? Like, I get why they could be, but some of my matches look so far out of my league lol. Not that matching matters much anyway, but still.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/20 07:37 AM
3

Haha, I broke up with the only girl that was ever interested in me because she was Christian. So I guess this answer is not for me.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/20 09:28 AM
6

So what exactly do you suggest instead of TRP to combat the nihilistic outlook on life? Also, kinda unrelated, but I'm curious if you will admit that your last two paragraphs apply to the FDS sub too, almost verbatim.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/20 07:28 AM
3

As a millenial, I'm pretty sure blaming/hating myself is a default state, it does not even need to be mentioned.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/03/20 01:28 PM
1

I advise you to check out the actual FDS sub, it's pure self-aware wolves heaven too. Like, I'm not that much against the general idea behind FDS and some of the sidebar stuff, but man, some of those posts are hillariously awful.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/20 07:43 AM

Oh wow, sorry, I did misread your comment. I thought you were challenging the "can be" part of the OP not the "even more so" part, if that makes sense.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/20 10:44 AM
5

I want to challenge that it's worse than never getting any attention. I'm sorry, but this is fucking retarded, and that whole "money can't buy happiness" thing kinda too. Like, I know firsthand that it's true, yet I wouldn't have the audacity to claim that my dumb priveleged ass somehow has it worse than some people who have to slave away just to make ends meet. Besides, do you think it's even possible to find love when you can't believe anyone could ever be attracted to you in the first place? …
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/20 09:39 AM
2

Nope. Sounds like something parents would ask the child while scolding him for bad behavior or something. Unless you mean something like "having original thoughts", I guess.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/20 12:36 PM
3

Well, these questions make zero sense to me, so I think they do need to be explained. The answer to "who are you" would depend on the context and who is asking, the second question is pointless because there is no "real substance" in the first place. And I don't even understand the last one. Maybe we have incompatible worldviews or something. Though I'm curious how you would answer these questions yourself in your OLD profile.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/20 12:16 PM
6

Why are you taking it so seriously? It's just pictures, who cares. I want to know who you are, whether you have any real substance as a person, whether you have anything to say for yourself Like, wtf is any of this even supposed to mean? I dunno if you can find answers to these questions from an OLD profile or, to be honest, if these questions make any sense in the first place. Why would I want to see a picture of you wearing a winter coat in Iceland, in the middle of a blizzard, from a distance…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/20 12:02 PM
3

Of course he had no problems dating when women very much out number men in Russia. I'm pretty sure that's bullshit though. I think the last census was like 10 years ago (not sure because I can't be assed to follow news) and the outnumbering part was due to older women. If you take people in their 20s and 30s, the men slighty outnumber women, so the gender dynamics are not that different. I can assure you women are not throwing themselves at me just because I'm not an alcoholic or something.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/20 08:14 AM
1

To kill time when bored and maybe meet some interesting new people, I guess?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/02/20 01:00 PM
3

I'm pretty sure I'm so romantically hopeless at this point that I don't even want to get laid. A girl on Tinder opened with a sex joke and my first desire is to unmatch and run away lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/20 07:18 AM
0

Can you finally let go of your weird Elliot obsession? You bring him up so much that I won't be surprised if you have a shrine dedicated to him in your bedroom or something.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/20 12:16 PM
1

Well, as a guy in that position, I'm probably gonna aim younger, but dunno if that's gonna make much of a difference.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/20 09:37 AM
2

It doesn't. If you are sexually inexperienced at 30, you are considered a weirdo and no amount of "maturity", whatever that is, is going to help you.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/20 06:03 AM
1

Took a walk around the city with a random tinder match for an hour and a half after work, then went to my tennis practice, so very romantic.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/20 06:09 AM
2

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have to lie about my romantic inexperience (especially since I'm 30 now) if I ever want to get some experience. On the other hand, fuck lying. If there are no women willing to judge me on my own merits, without relying on preselection, then so be it.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/02/20 08:31 AM
3

I think the idea is to make layers of dough separated by butter. So you place a sheet of butter on top of a sheet of dough, fold the dough so that it covers butter and then fold it several times more. I read the recipe and wanted to try it but it kinda sounded like a pain in the ass to make tbh.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/20 04:06 PM
3

How come women always complain about boring messages on OLD apps, yet every first message I received from women was a simple hi? Not that there's anything particularly wrong with it. Anyway, I really need to force myself to go on some dates, staying home and complaining about being forever alone is getting too comfortable. Also, I didn't really notice it, but doing yoga fixed one of my old hamstring injuries. However, I think I also injured the other hamstring in the process. You just can't win.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/20 08:21 AM

As always, everyone's above average. I love these threads.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/20 04:10 PM

Well, to be fair, I think I spent so much time alone I have no idea what "interest from the opposite sex" is even supposed to look like and where I'm supposed to notice it since I'm not very social. All I get are meaningless tinder matches ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/20 02:02 PM

Yeah.

I went from overweight (well, maybe not american tier overweight) in my teens to skinny fat in my early 20s to normal 15-ish% body fat now at 30 and I didn't notice any particular difference in how people treated me. There is honestly no real incenctive or reward to care about it unless you are obese and it hinders your daily life.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/20 11:28 AM
3

Absolutely fucking not. If anything, it got worse after uni. However, I'm a physicist who doesn't really like physics, so if you actually enjoy your career, your experience might be different.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/20 07:43 AM
2

Probably more loner than passive. I never know how to answer "why don't you want X" questions tbh. Like, I just don't? There is no deeper reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/20 06:53 PM
2

I'm not so sure about that. I am supposedly high T and I can't think of anything less appealing to me than dominance, in bed or anywhere. This is probably one of the many reasons I'll never get laid though, lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/20 06:30 PM

one of my best friends boyfriends doesn't drink and watching him pretend to have sober fun sitting there while the rest of us get lit has always been cringeworthy to me i hate when he comes out with us lmao Imagine how cringe it was for him though. Drunk people are never as lit as they think they are.

Isn't this what everyone's doing these days? Dating doesn't even sound fun because of this. Besides, why are you asking men in particular? It is not men who are swarmed with options.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/01/20 07:27 AM

Personally, I'm unsuccessful in dating because I have no clue how to escalate, neither sexually nor romantically, and it feels a bit too late to learn. Despite being a supposedly smart physicist lol, I' have fairly normal interests and hobbies so I think I tend to get along fine with normie women. However, my issue is that I don't like to make my hobbies social - i.e. I do hiking but don't belong to any hiking club or whatever, do yoga for the sake of yoga, when I listen to certain genres of mus…

Ehm, is it implied that every man is comfortable with sex on first date by default? I know I am a weirdo, but I don't really think I would be. Not that I'm getting offers, but still.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/20 06:04 PM

I don't really know, I don't have enough dating experience to have a type tbh.

Engineer, looks cute but not hot, sweaters instead of dresses in the photos, minimal makeup, that sorta thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/20 07:29 PM

Well, my Tinder date from last week ended up ghosting me, so I guess I misread her interest ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Dunno why I bother trying, it's obviously too late for me to fix anything. Also, one of my latest matches looks so stereotypically Becky somehow that it's absolutely killing me. I just can't not think of this damn sub.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/20 06:26 PM
6

Wait, am I missing something or are you saying women are not sexually attracted to their relationship partners?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/01/20 01:38 PM
2

It's kind of a pain in the ass though, most of the generic stuff in the store tends to be way too loose in the waist and I don't even have that much of a taper. I don't think you could look really "ripped" without huge arms anyway which first guy doesn't have.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/01/20 05:24 PM
3

Lol, so 6'1" is considered short these days? No wonder black pill is so popular.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/01/20 07:38 AM
5

You are delusional if you think that guy's physique will bring him much success with women on its own. Also, your newbie gains are overrated, unless you are some genetic outlier. I did your year under a barbell thing at some point, and while I'm okay with my body, I still look as DYEL as ever. You do need movie star physique to stand out in clothes and that takes years of dedicated effort.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/01/20 12:30 AM
2

The conclusion of the video was obvious from the start, but I still have no idea how my potential date is supposed to figure out if I'm actually 1 in 100 smart, 1 in 10 smart or even smart at all. If somebody asked me to estimate IQs of the people I know in real life, I don't think I'd be able to give an accurate answer.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/20 03:32 PM
1

I think I had the opposite experience lol. I actually began to sweat more when I got fitter, it's like my body knows in advance I'm about to exercise and begins to cool itself down.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/20 09:52 AM
2

Come on, what about guys who just want to do yoga? Like, I don't lift enough to be considered fit by rigorous RP standards (or, rather, don't lift at all lol), but I like trying new stuff.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/20 09:48 AM
5

Strawman, your points are heavily exaggerated and some of them are probably not even true. Besides, playing the "what incentive?" game is retarded. I can also ask what incentive there is for me to change into a man you claim women want to date and we will never get anywhere.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/20 07:51 AM
2

Eh, maybe, she said she would like to see me again too. Can't guarantee the second part, but I never had an orbiter phase because I could never maintain or even develop real crushes in the first place.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/20 07:32 PM
5

So I ended up going on a Tinder date tonight and it was just weird. I was mega awkward, especially at first, and broke every possible first date rule - I confessed my almost total lack of dating history, we discussed exes, religion, philosophy and a ton of random nonsense including even gender relations. Like at some point she straight up told me she doesn't believe in equality and briefly showed me her tinder account with thousands of likes (why the fuck would you even pick me then). I have no …

How is this a problem? Isn't that what women find attractive? /s, of course, but honestly dunno - in practice, not being those things doesn't automatically make me in demand and I'm not really seeing that "massive man problem" here either.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/20 02:12 PM

Oh yes, that's totally what I mean. Would be nice if they paid me too like true High Value Women™ are supposed to. Honestly, I kinda miss the pre-FDS days when you were a reasonable poster.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/01/20 02:24 PM
1

Well, if I tried approaching someone, the results probably would have been different, but if I just go about my business? There is zero attention either way. Or maybe I'm too dense to notice, I guess. I even have the body type women here often claim to like lol and it still doesn't matter.

What do you mean? That's not what I said.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/01/20 12:29 PM

I honestly think it's because guys feel invisible in public so we don't care. Honestly, wearing like a tailored shirt or something feels no different in attention compared to, say, returning from a hiking trip in dirty clothes smelling of smoke. No one gives a fuck either way. Plus fashion as a concept is just not interesting to many.

It's not hard at all to get a match on a dating app though, I don't know what people are talking about. Or maybe my country is not as hopeless as the US yet. However, it doesn't really matter because it's hard to get invested in your matches to care, hard to convert them to actual dates, and even if the dates do happen, they will probably go nowhere because I have zero flirting skills. On that I agree with the op, I guess, apps can't save me. I don't really know an appropriate way to develop tho…

They prefer socially dominant men, and social dominance is one aspect of being "extraverted". So they prefer extroverts? Who would have thought. I know that technically I could learn to fake it too, but what's the point? I can't think of a single thing I give fewer fucks about than "social dominance". Also, the whole "introverts sit at home and play games" thing is a bit of a meme, I think. I don't spend much time in the house and it's very easy to make me leave it, as long as the activity doesn…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/20 03:24 PM

I know, I do many activities in small groups of people, it's just that I'm not interested in dating any of these people. Guess I should bite the bullet and try texting my Tinder matches or something, what's the worst that could happen.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/20 01:09 PM
33

I suspect people who enjoy extroverted activities have an easier time finding dates (and, judging by this sub, many women simply prefer extroverts). Plus, getting comfortable around a new person tends to take a bit of time, so ideally I would like to go on a date with someone I already know at least a bit, but my social circle currently doesn't have any girls I'm interested in and I'm too lazy to look elsewhere.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/20 12:47 PM
46

I don't hate people but I kinda get it. I'm okay with one on one conversations or small groups and I'm okay with group activities too if you are not expected to talk all the time (e.g. a group hike), but activities with heavy focus on socializing drain me very quickly. What this means is that I don't really want a huge social circle, a harem of options or whatever, ideally I would like to find just one person to add to my life. Unfortunately, that's not how any of this works.

1 What made you give up? Nothing in particular, it just never happened naturally (studying physics and working in science really is a sausage fest tbh) and now I'm way too behind the curve to bother with acquiring the dating skills expected from a 30 year old guy. 2 What do you do now? Go to work, do my hobbies, procrastinate on my thesis. 3 How's your future gonna be like? Dating future? Probably bleak, unless by some weird accident a girl develops a crush on me and spends a ton of effort makin…

M = 121, F = 81, Sex = M, Pill = anti-blue, I guess? Feels way too basic and stereotypical to me, I would expect something more nuanced from a serious test.

I will second Blood Meridian, though it's kinda depressing - I really love his writing style, though tbh I'm not a very good judge of that since English isn't my first language. I tried getting into Faulkner too, The Sound and the Fury is pretty artsy and somewhat fun, though also pretty depressing. Or you can go with Catch 22 if you never read that - it's one of my favorites, but it does make you want to 🪓 yourself sometimes...
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/19 08:04 AM

It seems to me the difference is not necessarily in the "extrovertedness" of the activities, but rather in the mindset. For example, I've been going to yoga classes lately - for extroverted people this is an opportunity to find similar minded people, become part of the community or whatever. I, however, am just there to do yoga. Same deal with hobbies like hiking or running and so on. I feel it is harder to change this mindset than to sign up for more social things.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/19 05:16 PM

Why do extroverted people feel so much casual disdain towards us introverts? I could never understand that.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/19 04:16 AM

No offense, but what is the point of you making this thread? You are not a guy, you have no idea what it's like to be behind the curve as a guy or to date as a guy in the first place. All you can do is throw around meaningless platitudes everyone heard a million times.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/19 06:39 PM

I don't know, when I'm browsing through my Tinder matches, I can generally see who I would like to meet first and it's not necessarily the hottest girls, it's more about bios and facial expressions in photos. I get that you need some criterion, but going for the fanciest date just seems odd to me. I guess, you can afford to be picky and I can't because noone replies anyway.

I'm not moving anything. Hell, I don't even particularly disagree with the general idea behind the sub, but the actual content seems so absurd to me. Like, the advice is to demand being paid for, keep track of every single favor in the relationship not to come out behind, expect everything to be perfect in every way without communicating it properly and jump ship at the first inconvenience instead of putting any actual effort? This is what's supposed to land you a great relationship? Sounds fuck…

Impress by offering to pay more money for a date than other guys? Are you selling your LTR services or something? As a guy, I just comprehend this mindset at all. It takes absolutely zero effort to pay money and it says nothing about character.

The thing about the whole messaging argument is that they only give data normalized within the gender, not the total amount of messages. I have a suspicion that men send a lot more messages overall so female messaging distribution barely matters in the grand scheme of things.

M30. I only think about it when I'm bored. I find it very easy to not think about it otherwise, even when I'm at my yoga class, for example. Maybe I'm already broken from spending too much time alone to care ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Every guy who consumes pornography do it on a daily basis Citation fucking needed. Also, did you read your own link? It's basically an opinion peace and not exactly an unbiased one. /r/PurplePillDebate26/12/19 02:21 PM

Well, I'm the guy in the photo lol and I can't relate to a single thing that OP mentioned. This is why I'm having trouble believing anecdotes. I'm happy with my body but I'm more or less invisible in the real life, or maybe to dense to notice attention, I guess.

It is weird how lame every thread regarding male physiques and the usefulness of lifting turns out. Everyone's throwing around anecdotes, weights, lifts and opinions, but noone is ever posting pics. Okay, I don't get swipe apps and OLD in general. Like, my real life social circle is somewhere around 3 people if I'm being generous, but Tinder gives me 30-ish matches and more likes in 1.5 days. I'm absolutely not equipped to deal with this lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/19 08:01 AM

It's time for my quarterly tinder install where I swipe left on 80+% of girls, still somehow get matches, but then realize I can't get invested enough to meet or even message any of them anyway, so I delete the app in the end. I really wish I could find someone in the real world but I'm not nearly social enough for that.

I've traveled to 10+ countries solo and it never got me any closer to getting laid. To be honest, I was usually too tired from all the walking around to even care, but still. Just go somewhere you really want to go, who cares about getting laid. From your list, I've only been to Japan and it was fun, definitely recommend going.

Lol, I live in Russia and my life is nothing like that, attractive women are not exactly lining up to date me. Also, amusingly enough, I'm almost certain I've heard a decent portion of the current FDS rhetoric on mainstream TV (on some random morning show which are usually insanity, but still). "Men bad, women good", "what do modern men even bring to the table?", that sort of thing.

How about no? If my average counterparts do not want me, so be it. I can barely find time for things I actually want to do, why waste it on something as needless and cruel as stringing other people along.

This analogy doesn't really make sense to me. I don't think anyone ever managed to force me to buy anything through confidence, not without thorough research. I even feel overt confidence comes across as offputting and makes me think what the catch is, while unsureness can seem more genuine. I guess, this is why I don't really get the obsession with confidence as some positive trait.

As a normal weight person, I'm so tired of these "I lost x lbs and everything changed" posts. Like, am I supposed to get fat and then lose weight again to notice the favorable treatment? Because I'm not seeing it.

The list is pretty damn long though. And I'm pretty sure that even if a person like that existed he would be extremely boring to women as he sounds entirely devoid of personality. Oh, and it's pretty funny how even this post is full of "men bad, women already wonderful" circlejerk comments.

I don't think we have much of a gym culture compared to the US. It's probably a good thing, to be honest, there is no practical reason to be so obsessed with lifting.

Less confident for reasons similar to yours. Also, the attitudes often displayed by women here make me even less interested in dating than I was before.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/19 04:51 AM

How do you define attractive? I'm tall-ish and reasonably fit, but I'm still invisible to women in my daily life. Sure, my looks are decent enough to not disqualify myself immediately, but I would call that "baseline", not "attractive".
/r/PurplePillDebate24/11/19 09:39 AM

Sounds like bullshit tbh. For instance, in my country one of the ways to avoid mandatory service is going to uni, so us socially awkward overthinking people would survive, it's the average guys that would go to war. Well, I think another way to avoid draft is to have family and kids, so the early bloomer gigachads would stay behind too, I guess.

It's so weird to me that someone who is 5 fucking 2 could even care about height in the first place. Like, I'm not even that tall and a 5'2" girl would barely reach my collarbone. Doesn't sound practical.

Though TRP always defines blue pill as whatever strawman is most convenient for their argument. Lmao. I know that you personally don't really do it, but come on, this is basically pot calling the kettle black. 99% of the time people here are ripping strawmen to shreds. Also, calling TBP a satire sub is a stretch, sadly, it was never self aware or witty enough for that.

Hm, isn't performing actual research the most natural job for a physics major? I work in a lab at a research institute, we do various quantum optics related experiments, then publish our results in journals and report them at conferences. Some people from the institute do teach in a local university, but few and it's usually the older more established guys.

Sorta tangentially related example (because I don't have sex lol), but sometimes at my tennis practice I let go of overthinking and hit some great shots. This issue might be somewhat similar.

Yeah, big barbell movements. I didn't get far though, my PBs were like 55/100/120/160 kg for O/B/S/D at most and I absolutely couldn't figure out squatting... The shoulder is better now, but not at 100% yet. My pet theory is that my right shoulder was stronger due to years of tennis and my left simply couldn't keep up. I wasn't very lean back then, I think I'm at my leanest now at around 15-ish % BF (i.e. somewhat visible 4 upper abs in favorable lighting).
/r/PurplePillDebate31/10/19 07:57 PM
2

Honestly, I'm saying this because I lifted for about a year until I got sidetracked by a shoulder injury, but I didn't experience any insane gains from that venture. I know that I technically look and feel better than before (not much of an achievement lol), but it has made absolutely zero difference in my daily life - no looks or any extra attention really. So I'm a bit skeptical.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/10/19 07:20 PM
1

I think in 6 months you would look like the guy from the "Set 1" photos in the first article at the very best unless you have some insanely lucky genetics. There is no way it would make any significant difference in your attractiveness. Not denying health and mental benefits of exercising though.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/10/19 06:40 PM
5

I don't get TRPs obsession with lifting tbh. How exactly is it a game changer? And how many years do you think it would take for lifting to make a noticeable difference and how likely is average dude not to lose interest along the way?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/10/19 06:01 PM

OP is a woman, I think, so introversion is probably not as much of a problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/10/19 08:11 AM

I don't have any time left for gym tbh, there is yoga (which, apparently, is much more than just stretching), there is my main hobby (tennis), there is some running I try to fit in here and there. Besides, I don't really see much of a reason to bother with lifting, some ghetto bodyweight/band exercising should be okay for now.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/19 10:11 AM
1

Hm, yoga is turning out to be a bit harder than I thought it would be. Maybe I should've gotten a gym membership instead lol. On the other hand, improving flexibility and balance sounds like a good idea.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/19 09:33 AM
3

Honestly most of my reasoning comes from this terrible sub as I have no relevant personal experience. But basically, it seems that women expect everything to be done just right, so when the guy doesn't do everything just right (e.g., due to inexperience), it's a turn off.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/19 07:17 AM
6

What's the point of asking questions with obvious answers? Nobody wants to date inexperienced guys while for women it's much less of an issue.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/19 07:11 AM

Rpw is not TRP though. Somewhat surprisingly, the main sub has ignored FDS so far, I think. Yeah, FDS totally cares about that genuine love lol, I'm sure of it. Ffs, in one of the threads they advise to fuck other men while vetting the main one, I bet your husband material guy would be totally thrilled to hear that.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 08:01 PM
-2

Why do you think that RP men would care about the sub? TRP and FDS basically select against each other, so they are unlikely to even meet. It's your generous romantic beta guys who are going to be disgusted when they realize how cynical and unappreciative FDS denizens are.

Fair enough, I checked out some of the reviews and somehow they are almost entirely devoid of actual content. 6-7/10 seems like a reasonable score overall, but the movie has many problems and, honestly, the more I think about it, the less I like it.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/10/19 09:18 AM
1

Do you mean mainstream reviews? Honestly, I'm pretty happy that the critics are giving reasonable ratings for once, endless 10/10 scores from the public for a film so mediocre make no sense to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/10/19 08:43 AM
1

I'm kinda curious, what is your goal body? Is the US so bad that you now need to become some shredded monstrosity to be considered dateable? Because hovering around 15%bf (i.e. somewhat visible 2-4 upper abs) takes zero effort and going lower than that seems to have little practical purpose, especially in winter (well, unless you are an actual competitive athlete or bodybuilder or something).
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/19 04:57 PM

Yeah, which is why the very top post you see when you enter the sub is "how to never ever pay on a date". Totally about that self worth and confidence.

Eh, I live in a country where this app is not very common, but I found it pretty easy to get matches despite having an empty bio and no good photos (well, getting photos as a guy that has no social life is a nightmare). The problem is that it is hard to get invested into boring profiles and try to come up with interesting conversations through texting, so I kinda gave up on it. Well, since I have no idea how to get dates in real life, I'll probably get back to it eventually, hopefully with more …

Guess I'm gonna wait a bit since Obsidian stuff tends to be buggy on release anyway and then see, gonna play Disco Elysium in the meantime as it looks a bit more unique at least on the surface.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/19 07:53 AM

Really? I have a fondness for Obsidian, but this game looks so bland... I kind want to give it a try, but I'm having a tough time justifying it.

there aren't many MGTOWS in Russia for example I have no idea how to actually check that. I personally don't bother with dating and I know a couple of guys who also don't, plus the whole "who is not pulling weight in modern SMP/RMP" battle is fairly international already.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/19 02:27 PM

They don't wanna enter a relationship and just bake cupcakes with their girlfriends and pet small dogs That sounds fun actually, especially if you replace dogs with cats. I would totally sign up for this, but I don't exactly know how.

So a friend finally dragged me to a yoga class. Was pretty fun and it turned out to be harder than it looks, though it'll probably take a while to get to really advanced stuff. Guess I'll stick around for a bit and see if I like it.

A lot of things. I wanna learn to snowboard, take a couple of parachute jumps and go on a 250+ km solo hike. I also want to find the will to ditch my useless science career and find something that better suits my skillset - but I have no idea what it could be other than that it should be something more hands on and practical. I really should try to fix my dating life too, but I have zero clue what I actually want and it seems too late for it anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/19 04:20 PM

She keeps begging me for some grandchildren though. Too late for that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/19 10:42 AM

Even if you "pass", you still need to learn to escalate and not say dumb shit. This is much harder to some than fixing looks.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/19 08:05 AM
3

I think it's the opposite to be honest. Improving looks is good, but you are kidding yourself if you think it's going to make real difference in the short term. The game part is the most important part, but it's probably the hardest to implement, so it's not very appealing.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/19 07:00 AM

Which is probably like top 3-5% if you look at stats. Sounds very reasonable.

Honestly, I was pretty close to the six pack (I could see it clearly in favourable lighting) and I still am and it absolutely doesn't fucking matter. How can it when nobody will even know it's there? And getting fitter is good for your quality of life, but it definitely doesn't make you more attractive or confident by default.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/19 04:25 AM

Why do you think "solid social skills" are all encompassing or something? It's just not true. Do you expect me to be able to answer any physics related question just because I'm a physicist? There are aspects and areas to every skill.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/19 01:38 PM
21

You can get along with coworkers and boss, yet be completely inept when it comes to dating. These are different skills. Most people around me did end up married, so that part is true to some extent, though I know some people who are alone too (well, I'm in science, not tech, and not at a particularly awesome institute, but still).

I got myself a cat ¯\(ツ)/¯
/r/PurplePillDebate15/10/19 04:34 PM

I get that you don't, but can you at least understand why someone else would? The idea that commitment on its own is worth nothing unless accompanied by a legal document doesn't sound very romantic to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/10/19 04:25 PM

What is so hard to understand? Breaking up if the relationship is not working out and then looking for something better is one thing, being ready to jump ship whenever the opportunity presents itself is another.

I was planning to take more pictures of myself while travelling, but in the end I totally forgot about that, so this is the only photo of me I took on my UK solo trip this year. Unfortunately, rainy hikes are not the best place for taking perfect photos, but whatever.

Should you run if Usain Bolt is faster than you? I mean, should you? You say it like it's a simple question with an obvious answer, but it's not. A lot of self-improvement, especially physical, is kinda pointless in the grand scheme of things, if you think about it.

I wonder if I'm the only one who didn't like the film at all. Batman references were pointless and only there just to attract the audience. JP was very good, I'll give you that, but the film itself was incredibly shallow and had no real stance or message. Just dark for the sake of dark.

That a right swipe on a dating app is the most effort I can expect from women when it comes to dating (well, there are also the mythical IOIs but I've never seen those) and everything else is up to me. Since I'm not big on effort myself, it probably means my dating prospects are pretty bleak.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/19 07:27 AM

So in the end the whole "theory" boils down to calling men of PPD bottom tier? Wow, how novel.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/10/19 08:11 PM

I'm pretty fucking sure most men are not in sugar baby relationships with hypersexual slutty girls. Also, saying you know something doesn't convince anyone of anything.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/10/19 04:38 PM
2

Also, you're in absolute denial if you think a man cant find a hypersexual slutty girl, especially if he has a sugar baby relationship with her. Honestly, it boggles my mind that somebody could come up with this sentence, re-read it, think "yep, makes sense" and then post it. Absolute insanity.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/10/19 04:26 PM

I still have no idea what an IOI is supposed to look like lol. I don't think I've ever been the target.

Well, I know for sure that I have a beautiful and effective one handed backhand at least. But I've been playing with people way above my level all the time, so it took me a long while to realize I'm not actually that bad myself.

Went on a hiking trip with my friend, staying two nights in tents. Living in the city, I was beginning to forget how awesome the night sky with actual stars in it was (light pollution really sucks here) or how quiet the forest could be at night. I really wish I could spend more time outdoors. Also, we walked around 52 km on one of the days which probably ended up being one of the longest walks I ever did.

Do you not get it? If you ban certain views from the comments, the only way to participate is to upvote/downvote. And I'm guessing incels are extra salty because "men bring nothing to the table xD" comments stay up even though they are just as bad. In fact, this sub WAS better when you could engage with incels - of course, they were stubborn as hell, but most posters here are not exactly open to having their views changed either way. Also, I've never seen a genuine comment made in good faith dow…

You know, when an actual study seems like incel content to you, maybe it's time to consider their position a bit more seriously instead of dismissing them outright? Besides, I don't even see anything controversial there, it's basically halo effect in a different packaging. The second thread I can give you, but come on, it's not that bad. It's a bit over the top and using the worlds privilege and entitlement tends to trigger everyone involved, but you can't deny that there is some truth to it and…

Your incel obsession is weird. Check the top threads for a month, very few of them fit your description and the "men bad women good" circlejerk almost never get punished even though it's just as annoying. Plus calling everything you disagree with incel content is not a productive way of arguing in the first place.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/19 09:18 AM

Yeah, that feels a bit weird to me too. I was doing a science project last year with a girl who was around 14 and she was wearing what I felt was way too much makeup all the time. I don't remember this being a thing when I was that age.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/19 04:16 PM

Sometimes I think that OP is some weird advertisement account for the neoreactonary movement. Without OP, I would have never known it even exists. Also, 2 year old post with 30 upvotes? That's digging pretty deep for content to rage about.

I honestly don't get it. That guy's body looks completely unremarkable to my male eyes. In fact, this is probably pretty close to what my body looks like (a bit leaner maybe) and I'm as average as it gets.

Technically, I come from the second world country, but I look like a generic tall white guy, so I guess it still counts. I've been to Thailand, China and Japan as a tourist and I was just as invisible there as I am back home, so I have no idea what bump you people are talking about. To be fair, things might have been different had I stayed in one place long enough, but I hadn't, so dunno.

I know that, of course, but the context was that said introvert was meeting a sex worker, and in that already awkward context those questions would 100% make me shut down and forget how to human.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/19 11:41 AM
0

Well, I'm a loner, so I'm not very good at this whole socializing thing. If you are looking for a serious answer, I think that if someone wanted to get an introvert to talk, the best way would be to ask questions, preferrably more fun and more specific. Eventually you would stumble upon a subject that he is interested in and after that it gets easier. Another way that usually works on me is to say something that I can ask about and be the listener for a while, that way some sort of rapport can b…

Honestly, as a boring introvert, I find your attempts at starting the so called natural conversation terrible. Like, wtf are you even supposed to answer to the first two statements? They have no substance whatsoever, so of course it's hard for us to respond, especially in the awkward meeting-a-new-person mode. We probably aren't as boring as you think we are, it just takes more effort to get to know us.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/19 10:43 AM

"Fun" is probably the worst one. I feel it can mean absolutely anything depending on the person.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/19 06:18 AM

I think apathy is the right word. I know I could technically try to write to my tinder matches and set up dates or something, but I just can't find the motivation for it. It just seems like so much effort that's unlikely to pay off anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/09/19 08:15 AM

Wait, what? I usually test as an ISTP and I can't relate to any of this nonsense.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/09/19 11:03 AM

I mean, I'm fitter, more energetic and open to experiences than I ever were and I don't really look much older than I did in my early 20s. So I'm waiting for that paycheck.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/19 02:57 PM
8

I bet you my next paycheck that you're not as youthful, energetic, fit or open to experiences as you were in your 20s and late teens. You probably have some wrinkles. You've probably gained weight. And you would lose. Of course, I'm only 30 and it mostly shows how bad my late teens and early 20s were, but still.

Okay, you don't get resonable answers because your OP is very verbose yet makes very few claims you could even argue against. Ultimately, what are you claiming? That it's easy to meet someone? I guess, I agree to some extent. I've spent 30 years beeing a hermit and doing my best to avoid any needless social interaction. I've spoken to like 5 women in my life, yet I'm fairly certain at least 3 were interested, for some reason. I even dated one of them and could've married her, had I said yes to h…

How about "I don't want a large social circle"? Sure, you are correct, I could make an effort to build one, but why? It would only make me more stressed, I'm much happier with a very small one. Do I deserve to be forever alone then?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/19 07:25 AM

You do remember that women attempt suicide more often, right? So I'm not sure what solution you are talking about.

Oh wow, reading this thread does make dating apps look kinda pointless for guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/09/19 12:29 PM

feminism has little impact in the day to day lives of most people That's a weird way of looking at it, I think. What kind of impact on day lives can a movement even have? Daily payments for the greater good? Mandatory morning prayer? It's obvious that it had affected the mainstream western culture at least in some way, isn't that enough?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/19 02:26 PM
20

99% of the world doesn't know feminism exists? Yeah, right. Might be true for the manosphere stuff though.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/19 01:47 PM

Do you mean this? Maybe there were more, this one doesn't seem particularly interesting.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/19 10:52 AM

I mean, the first question is "does the person in the photos pass my looks threshold?". After that it's pure curiosity, I guess. Who knows, we might click in person. It's not like right swipes are limited or particularly meaningful. Except, in practice, I can't get to the meeting in person part anyway, so in the end it's all pointless.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/09/19 10:52 AM
3

So how big of a social circle are you talking about? And what if there are no eligible people there? Burn it and build a new one from scratch? Also, what if I'm not interested in having a big social circle in the first place? I honestly don't see why I would want one.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/09/19 05:01 AM

To be honest, what I don't get is why you act like a right a swipe on Tinder is literally consent to marriage or something. Fine, I believe there is more to your attraction than static pictures? Except, in this case, wouldn't it make sense for you to be less picky and give more people a chance to impress you in person or even just in text? The fact that you don't do that and raise your looks standards instead (or maybe what you think is a 5 is an 8, who knows) is what upsets the average guy on O…
/r/PurplePillDebate06/09/19 04:17 AM

Yeah, I know what I should do in theory, but it's hard to pick who to message when you have several options. Well, probably most won't reply anyway, but it's not like I can know it in advance.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/19 01:24 PM
2

I have no idea why I'm even installing dating apps lol. I guess, after reading reddit complaints, I was kinda hoping for absolutely zero matches, which would put me at ease, but the reality turned out to be a bit different. The problem is, I feel I'm already like 10 years too old and too content with being alone all the time to even try figuring out basic dating skills, so I can't motivate myself to do anything.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/19 07:03 PM

I've seen my father go from nothing to doing CEO tier jobs and I'm fairly certain I don't want to follow in his footsteps. It definitely didn't give him much freedom along the way. Well, now I think he can afford to take it a bit easier but the workaholic habits die hard. I don't know, I just don't believe money can buy happiness.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/19 09:07 AM
2

I honestly wouldn't mind it, at least it shows the other person is alive and somewhat interested. Texting is a garbage means of communication so I don't expect much from the conversation anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/19 12:26 AM
1

Why not? I can ask the very same question too. Why should I always message first? We are all equal on the app
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/19 12:23 AM
2

Sad, not one of my 40+ tinder matches is willing to write the first message. Well, to be fair, it's not like my profile is exactly thought provoking, but come on, not even a single "hi"?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/19 02:41 PM

Isn't reading the most common pastime on a plane? I think I read like 7 books during my last trip (on planes/trains or while queueing).

At this point I'm mostly curious to find out whether any of the girls are going to message first. Though, to be fair, there are some people among my matches I wouldn't mind meeting, so maybe I should consider putting in some effort.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/19 05:31 PM

More like profiles of Beckies in my case. I guess, now I can sorta relate to women not caring much for OLD. The difference is, they don't have to initiate, and I do.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/19 10:24 AM
6

No offence, but your weird elitist attitude about social skills is so lame. Like, imagine whenever you tried to speak a foreign language, the native speakers would mock you relentlessly for poor grammar and imperfect word choice. Instead of, you know, using their superior skill to make you comfortable and get the most out of the conversation.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/19 07:16 AM
1

It's been like 14 hours since I made a new Tinder account and I'm beginning to remember why I gave up on it in the first place. I'm at almost 30 matches already and it's getting harder and harder to get invested into any single one of the samey profiles enough to overcome my shyness and actually write something. Too much fake choice.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/19 04:45 AM

Well, someone told me the opposite, lol, but I didn't believe it at first.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/19 04:32 PM

Hm, so when I was in the UK, I installed Tinder out of curiosity - just to see what you brits are dealing with. I've seen quite a few single moms and overweight people, but overall I thought it wasn't that bad. However, now that I'm home, the difference is staggering - I literally can swipe right on almost everyone. Dunno, maybe it only shows attractive people first or something, but it definitely didn't feel that way in London.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/19 04:08 PM

My British vacation is coming to an end. I have one last day in Edinburgh and then I'm flying back home. I had a lot of fun, especially on my hiking trips, as lake district and Scottish countryside are really wonderful. However, sometimes I just wish I had someone to share my trips with, though I doubt the idea of joining me on 45-kilometer walks would sound appealing to many...
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/19 06:43 PM

Weirdly enough, according to the data, I'm almost exactly 8 inches taller than the average woman in my country. Didn't seem to help me though.

Wow, Lake district is amazing. My legs are kinda tired after hiking in the mountains for more than twenty miles in one day, but it was totally worth it. I would probably spend weeks backpacking through the national parks if I actually lived in the UK.

Ceballos was pretty impressive too. I was mostly enjoying the atmosphere tbh, watching from the stands behind the goal is very different from the TV perspective.

Ticked "go to a football match" off my bucket list of experiences today. I know it's mundane for most, but my hometown doesn't have a decent team, plus I wanted to see Arsenal live since they began properly showing EPL in Russia. Was pretty fun.

Your description actually makes average dude perspective sound better. Of course most people are not special, if you think about it, but ignorance is bliss in this case.

No clue lol as I have almost zero romantic experience. Probably around 5/10 objectively. If I really were 8/10, I would probably know it.

I got 8.5/8.5/8.0 on a bland selfie. This is how I know this site is a joke because it doesn't align with my view at all.

By the way, is your beer offer still standing? I'm staying in London for a few more days.

I arrived in the UK and it has been raining like 90% of the day. Is this what I should be looking forward to for the next two weeks?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/19 05:44 PM

That's some godawful reporting right there. If you check the study, that "women (aged 30-34)" group is literally 11 people and they look like outliers compared to other women in the study. If you take the 20-24 age range (like 70% of the participants), the right grip is 45.8 kgs for men vs 27.37 kgs for women - doesn't sound as sensational, does it? Oh, and grip strength declined for both men and women, if you exclude that outlier group.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/19 06:23 AM

Yay, my UK visa is done and I'm coming to London in just two weeks. If I survive my upcoming hiking trip, that is.

I think I'm the closest to having visible abs I've ever been, which is a surprise because I'm almost overweight by BMI, I don't currently go to the gym and I don't pay much attention to what I'm eating. I guess I need to make that final push just to experience being actually lean for once, though it's unlikely anyone but me will ever notice.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/19 04:18 PM

My mother's advice on the subject was basically "just get a girlfriend lol, how hard can it be". Well, apparently, it's not that easy for me ¯\(ツ)/¯

My own problem with the standard PPD classification is that I can't even classify myself - neither alpha nor beta seems appropriate. Plus I don't really know any pure alpha types in the real world.

Not exactly an opinion, but reading this sub invariably makes me lose interest in dating. I missed out in my teens and twenties (damn, I'm old now), but I always thought I would give it a try someday. But now I really can't find motivation anymore, this sub makes me way too cynical about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/19 12:32 PM

I think it's just how people tend to argue against personal opinion and anecdotes. Try saying that you are an average guy having trouble dating and the other side (or maybe even the same people) will immediately claim you are in fact an ugly misogynistic foreign incel with zero social skills.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/19 04:29 PM

I don't think that's how it works. I spent most of my childhood doing exactly that - playing with friends outside, yet it didn't really change anything. I still don't like socializing on its own and I am awful at it.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/19 03:55 PM

Not particularly, but it wouldn't have made a difference either way.

So I went to the bank to grab a confirmation of my financials for a potential visa application. The girl there saw the number, then flipped through my passport (pretty sure, to check the marital status page) and tried to strike up a conversation. Either I'm misreading something or this wasn't very subtle, lol.

If you exclude work (hell, even if you include work - not like I say anything more than "hi" to people outside my lab), almost zero. There are a few women in my regular-ish hiking group, but that's about it and we don't really hang out all that often. I don't see opportunities for being social because I tend to spend most of my time alone anyway.

You are doing the open water diver course, right? The pool was easily the worst part for me. It was my first time swimming in fins, I felt super uncomfortable and awkward underwater and I had no clue how to control buoyancy either. And I got my worst sunburn too, lol. However, the actual dives were much more chill and relaxed (other than the exercises they make you do). You have much more space for maneuvering and the 40 feet depth doesn't really affect you at all. So I think you should give it …

Well, I haven't decided yet, might make it this year. The problem is I have no idea what I want so it's hard to make an itinerary. I definitely want to see London and Edinburgh at least, but overall I'm more interested in nature, I guess. So probably some national parks - maybe Lake district, Cairngorms or Snowdonia. I wonder how easy it is to get around using public transportation only though.

Russia - we need visas everywhere, unfortunately. I can't really reschedule either due to the nature of my work. Well, legally I can, of course, but it's going to be a dick move towards other members of my lab.

I really want to visit the UK someday but I think I missed my timing this year. I have slightly more than a month till my vacation and I doubt I can get the visa in time. Besides, booking everything so late would cost extra (not that it really matters).

Yeah, 18 is actually my dream goal, though running is not even near the top of my priorities. I skipped PE in school and haven't done anything physical except for casual sports until I was like 28 (couldn't even do a pullup at that point lol), so it's time for some catching up.

Isn't BQ like 3 hours flat for guys? I've got a long way to go still. And the fact that some people can actually run like 4 minute miles for the whole marathon distance sounds simply insane.

Decided to make my morning run 5k (like actually 5k and not some random distance from 3k to 15k) and time it out of curiosity. My pacing was wrong and I got screwed over by the traffic lights a bit, so I ended up at around 24 minutes, which is not that great, I guess? At least now I have a PR since it's technically my first 5k.

Reminds me of the trip where we passed through the same patch of sandy road twice within like ten minutes and the second time we saw fresh bear prints. It was unnerving to think it was probably interested in us or even tracking us... In the end, we never saw that bear though.

Being born in a region with no venomous snakes is a great solution to the second problem. Well, there are black adders, but they are cute and quite rare too. As for wolves, dunno. I've heard about a pack of wolves attacking dogs in my region, but I don't think they want to mess with people all that much. Plus, I've seen boar and bear prints a lot, but never wolf prints.

Spent a night alone in the forest for the first time in my life. It wasn't particularly dramatic, but still, there is something liberating about being on your own in the wild with no people around you (well, within like 5 kilometers - it's surprisingly hard to find a desolate spot). Kinda dumb though that I should really be fixing my nonexistent social life and I'm doing this instead...

Are you claiming that most people would choose to be a CEO over Chad? Because I really, really doubt that. It's simply too much responsibility.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/19 12:43 PM

In my case, it would not work as advice because I've never seen someone I could call a Chad in the real world, so I have no idea what he would do.

Nah, the proposal thing came a year later. I feel really guilty about this relationship because I was pretty certain how it would end when I found out she was religious but she asked me to give it a try anyway and the eventual breakup sucked much more than it would've sucked a year ago. Oh, and I actually gave up playing bass a ton of times, but I always come back to it for some reason. Same deal with tennis - this stupid sport is so frustrating I really wanna drop it sometimes, but I do feel it…
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/19 07:08 PM

It didn't end well and this is why I'm hesitant to try again. We dated for a while, it was fun while it lasted, she sorta proposed to me, I had to say no because I realised there was no way I could spend my life with a truly religious partner, we don't speak anymore and it absolutely fucking sucks. Also, I somehow managed to get to a kiss without saying anything that could qualify as flirting, so that part of "normal interaction" is still a mystery to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/19 06:36 PM

Yeah, I have a suspicion it won't rise that much. In 4 days I'll be 30 already and at this age you are supposed to have a wife and like two children, not struggle with talking to girls. Besides, I can't even find enough time to deal with my own hobbies - I need to fix my injuries and get back to the gym, plus there is still tennis, running, playing bass, baking and my hiking trips. I don't know how to fit learning middle school level social skills into the schedule.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/19 01:27 PM

I get what you are saying, but while it's no big deal for you normal people, I spoke to like 10 women total in my 30 years, so it's not that simple for me. Maybe someday.

Good idea in theory, but my terrible musical tastes really do not line up with what's available here in my city. There were only 3 concerts I was interested in over the last year and I had to travel 500 km for two of those...

Of course not, don't you know me? In the end, I have absolutely no idea how to go about asking someone out, especially someone I sorta know but really don't.

That sub is amusing but also somehow discouraging. I wanted to give OLD another try since there's almost zero chance of me asking anyone out in the real world, but now I just don't know. Something about those exchanges is so off-puting.

Male Hypothetically, the first option sounds much better - the whole "won't mind doing it" thing seems pretty creepy. However, my only shot at a relationship so far was basically the first scenario to a tee and in the end I rejected her - for objective-ish reasons, but still...

A basement dwelling 6’4 dude with a good face, assuming he isnt morbidly obese, will not “suck” at getting laid. Sorta unrelated as I'm 3 inches and a good face short of this description, but this reminded me of a certain episode from my early twenties which I can barely believe even happened, but whatever. We were at some useless conference for young scientists and these two random girls came over to my room to hang out and get to know me or something, but I was like "nah, gotta sleep, there is…

I'm considering asking out a girl from my institute. We've been smiling at each other in the hallways for a while and my elite forever alone body language reading skills suggest she might be interested. However, I have no idea how to go about that since I never asked anyone out before. Oddly enough, I think I'm more worried that she might say yes, because then I would actually have to put effort into something...

Sometimes I see American salary discussions and get randomly salty, because I spent 6 years getting a useless degree in Physics (dunno why, I don't even like or get Physics) and now I have to do research and write articles for the very same journals American scientists write for, except for less than 10k$ a year...

Hiking, leaning into light survival stuff - i.e., carrying minimal gear and trying to make use of whatever's available in our forests for various purposes. I kinda envy you Americans in a sense, because it seems like it's very easy for you to make every interest social, while we tend to rapidly separate into small tight-knit groups. My group is 50/50 m/f and mostly fit and single, yet not very interested in dating each other or maybe dating period - we are all weirdoes, I guess... Yoga seems lik…

Heh, I've never been to a bar or a club, but I've been randomly approached before, mostly when travelling - I guess English speaking people are more social than us gloomy Russians. Unfortunately, I was never prepared for it and usually was super in my head, so by the time my brain returned back to earth, the opportunity to talk was already gone. Maybe I'll try your advice eventually.

Building a new circle would be tough because I can barely keep up with the things I already want to do. Guess OLD is my best bet since I'm not obese or deformed, but I have absolutely zero presentable pictures of myself. The whole pet and GYOW option is already covered, if all fails, as I have a cat.

I actually thought about something like that at some point, but my country, unlike the US, doesn't really have a bar culture. Also, I spend about half of my weekends in the forest and I don't want to give that up.

I don't know why people act like it's easy to find a girlfriend. I have zero interest in casual sex and would love to be in a relationship, but my job is a sausage fest and there is nobody I could ask out in my immediate social circle. Well, to be fair, my social circle is more like a social hexagon at best, but I'm not particularly interested in expanding it. So where exactly am I supposed to look?

Wow, your Western "casual dating culture" looks so unappealing to my Russian eyes. Like, really, your time is so valuable you can't dedicate a few weeks of it to one person and set up as many dates as necessary to figure out where you stand before considering others? You absolutely have to go to multiple dates with random people at the same time? You've got to assemble a whole roster of options and make them compete against each other? That is so lame. I wonder if my country is just as bad now…

Are testosterone levels really that important? Reading some posts I get the impression that people see low T as the source of all male issues. I tested mine out of curiosity and got numbers way higher than I would expect based on me being, well, the complete opposite of a Chad stereotype, so I don't know if it really matters that much.

Never done drugs, never even drank enough alcohol for it to work. With predictable romantic results, lol. Though I've become more open to new experiences over the recent years, this is something I'll probably never do. Honestly, I can't think of something less fun in concept than a "party".

I think after a certain time you just stop caring. Like, I definitely want a relationship in some abstract way, but that want is not strong enough to drive me insane or something. And I'm supposed to be high T ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ What I don't get is who exactly am I supposed to ask out anyway. As an introverted guy, I don't have that many friends and I'm not interested in any of them romantically. Now that I think about it, I have no idea where I would have to look for relationship minded people in 5 years, so I guess there is some truth to that. Well, since I am not interested in trying to sleep around either way, guess it's time to consider getting another cat.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/19 12:11 PM

Wow, if 30s are that bad, then I have about two months to get my dating life in order. On the other hand, if nothing happened in 29 years, it's unlikely anything would suddenly improve now.

I don't know, I think there is some truth to that. I discovered this sub before having any real world experience and while I wouldn't say this caused some new problems for me, it certainly was demotivating. After lurking this sub for a while I have almost zero desire to "play the game". If an opportunity for a relationship falls into my hands, I'll see how it goes (not that this is likely, tbh), but otherwise there seems to be little reason to bother.

Maybe I shouldn't have broken up with that girl who wanted to marry me. I realized that with my lifestyle a long time will pass before I even speak to another girl, let alone find someone actually interested in me. I guess getting a cat was a good idea after all.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/19 07:10 PM

My biggest red flag is that I'm nearly 30 with almost zero romantic experience. I'm not particularly embarrassed about it, but it's impossible to hide my complete lack of game and I'm not nearly good looking enough for it to not matter. I guess it's fixable in theory, but it's beginning to feel a bit late for that.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/19 05:21 PM

Well, that's true, I guess, except now I need to get over the whole "breaking the heart of someone I like" thing. And, first of all, to convince myself to do it properly. Besides, normies are like 6 years into their marriages by my age and with 1-2 kids. I don't know what I am, but definitely not a normie.

Oh wow, I messed up so bad. I met this girl and we liked each other, but early on a disagreement came up. She is religious and I am definitely not, so we viewed the relationship progression somewhat, em, differently. So she suggested to not think about the future too much, have fun while it lasts and I, the idiot, said yes to that. One year later, she basically proposed to me and told me that I'm her "the one".
