Even though I know this is from Christopher Priest’s The Prestige, it’s still funny af

I can’t find anyone mentioning America? I’m in the comment thread and I’m not American but held similar views to the others. But let’s transpose anyway...I’m curious: let’s say we’re not in Japan and instead we’re in London and we’re on the tube. The majority of the people doing the pickpocketing are ethnically Romanian. Do we say: ‘Okay, we have a problem of pickpocketing on the tube. Studies show the vast majority committing these crimes are Romanian. Let’s create a car that operates with a bi…

That assumes that cars that don’t bare a “men only” sticker would still be used by men only through default of women having the choice of a “women only” car. The point is that the women have the choice of a female only car but they’re still free to use cars that don’t bare any sticker, so there are no men only cars unless they get a sticker too.

Also, her defence team would have used BPD if she actually had it. Look at this quote: “Denise Breen-Lawton, mitigating, said Pointon, of Manchester, had been studying in Leeds at the time. She said her hopes of becoming a police officer were now ruined” Do you really think if she had the disorder they wouldn’t use it in sum-up or mitigating? Nah, some people are just cunts, that’s why they went with the ‘tarnished dreams’ line.

What’s scary is how insignificant the reason might be that someone will falsely accuse. For example, in Leeds there was a student who wrongfully accused her taxi driver of molestation because he refused to accept a £10 note soaked in kebab juice. I don’t know Reddit’s rules on posting names but it’s a story discoverable on Google.

She’s wasting so much time getting drunk or trying to get with drunks. Why doesn’t she improve her mind and educate herself, such as learning about the collapse of the Bronze Age, eh OP? 😉
