Concerning hobbiesSo my eldest son and his friends are into Wargames (they're 9) Recently we went into a wargames store when there was a group playing so while we were there my wife texted me "And not a girlfriend in sight..." If you enjoy it and you have the time do it, just don't let it be all you do. | /r/askTRP | 23/02/17 03:53 PM
MY possible Blue Pill Existence. Please Help. There's nothing in this post to say what you do! We get it, life is tough. So do something about it. Read the sidebar if you are literally starting from scratch. | /r/askTRP | 17/02/17 05:32 PM
Writing about routine?Smarter Faster Better by Charles Duhigg or Peak by Anders Ericsson are good resources for habits from the point of view of improving yourself. | /r/askTRP | 15/02/17 10:12 PM
About finding purpose in life.IMO The feeling of being carried is when you're still waiting for someone to tell you what to do. Society sells all these prepackaged ideals of how one day we wake up and we realize we were put on this earth to save dolphins or cure cancer or some other saccharine shit. And it'll just happen one day with bright lights and angels singing... The truth is purpose is just us being clear to ourselves who we are and who we are not. To make a decision on who we are/want to become, and working every day… | /r/askTRP | 15/02/17 05:31 PM

About finding purpose in life. The feelings you have are normal for the position you're in. You feel anxious because you've not yet internalized the fact that being in control comes with the price of being responsible for yourself. No one is going to give you a purpose but by the same token, you don't need to wander waiting to find it either. You can build it. Just like lifting builds our bodies and reading builds our minds. Going out and moving through life with purpose creates purpose. Go be the best tax accountant or rock … | /r/askTRP | 15/02/17 01:48 PM
Can you learn to be proficient in technical matters (computer programming, math, etc), just as you can slowly get better at new sports. Or does it require a certain brain?Yes it's learnable. Ignore the whole "Do I have the right brain?" bullshit. Your brain is a muscle, lift! Go to your library and get a book on whatever and read the first chapter. Tomorrow read the next chapter. Can't understand a chapter? Find a group that you can ask questions in. Do this everyday. At the end of the day it doesn't matter if you're slower than the "average" is capable of. The "average" is sitting on a couch wondering why nothing good happens to them. | /r/askTRP | 30/01/17 04:02 PM
