1	What do you think about these stats? I imagine that before the pink ribbon thing happened, breast cancer was very taboo to talk about (only my guess, not old enough to remember) since we are really prudish about "private parts" in the US. 2	What do you think about these stats? Oh, I wasn't trying to say that at all! Just...pointing it out I suppose. Plus, they've gone CRAZY publicizing breast cancer and making it "cool" to talk about (and sadly a lot of it is profit disguised as charity). Perhaps a campaign to publicize prostate cancer would be effective in getting more funding for research? 1	Why does society think women have the right to slap a man if he insults her integrity? I wasn't trying to imply that it doesn't happen - I guess I just wanted to point out that there are...social circles (not sure if this is the exact term I want to use, but close) where that shit is totally unacceptable. I would like to point out though that I am 27 years old and I have NEVER seen a woman slap a man in the face for real. 7	This needs to stop. Now. I agree with you. I think a lot of the problems here are that some of the men start getting angry (which they have every right to be often times), and then that anger takes starts getting directed towards women instead of the culture that is allowing these things to happen. 2	Why is it politically correct to worry about the affect of media on women's self esteem and not men? Haha, of course you can! It's just in general men burn calories at a different pace than women - usually because they weigh more and are more likely to have a higher percentage of muscle. I'm just saying that women have to work out A LOT to offset "eating whatever you like". 1	Why is it politically correct to worry about the affect of media on women's self esteem and not men? That is an interesting point. I think it would be easy to brush off unhealthy behavior in men if it was just working out obsessively - they might be seen as just "super healthy" or as someone who takes good care of themselves. I'm pretty sure I've read some stuff (STUFF!) that says, basically, that men are quickly catching up with women as far as disordered eating and body image issues. For a long time, in Hollywood, men were seen as "handsome", and women were seen more as "the object of the man's affection". I would also point out, just for fun, that Charlize probably eats ~1200 calories per day, while Ryan gets to eat ~1800. I have seen many MRAs that are making it pretty clear that they hate feminists (and sometimes just women in general).
