Yeah there's a study in the U.S. on college sexual assault that found 8% as well. What the study didn't mention is that something like 15% of the reported instances "didn't meet the criteria to qualify as sexual assault" which is an interesting way of saying those allegations were false too. Then another 30% were totally inconclusive. Once you looked at the number of "proven" instances compared to the actual false allegations, it wasn't a huge disparity

The higher court intimated that one or two might not have been enough to overturn the decision but that taken cumulatively the judge had clearly shirked her responsibility of being a neutral arbiter and stepped into the role of advocate. Yeah in my experience asking permission to do things every step of the way is a huge turnoff for many if not most women and it lead to my first few sexual experiences not being good ones. Lots of rapists get off lightly. Many even avoid punishment entirely. It's not a feminist fiction. But what they don't tell you (because they probably don't know) is that the same is true about most crimes – not just rape. This is a terrible policy. Yes, there are a lot of dead beat dads out there but most men I know that are in arrears just can't afford to pay it. The child support bill is too high and their pay is too low. This is most often the case when mom decides to wait to seek child support for a couple of years and then is awarded $10k in back child support to be lumped in with the new payments.

They used to in my jurisdiction when a parent asked for back-child support but that law was changed. Bad move IMO. This experiment is, unfortunately, very flawed. You could just as easily conclude "everyone jumped to help when the shorter, skinnier person was being hurt, but laughed when the bigger person was being hit." Yes, the guy getting beat up was pretty thin, but he was still noticeably bigger than the girl. If you really want to determine whether gender is the decisive factor (and I expect it would be) you need to better control for other variables. EDIT: many down votes and yet no counter arguments.…
