I feel like I see more couples where the man is more attractive than the woman. Are your observations due to the bar being lower for women to be considered beautiful as for men to be compared beautiful, they have to be tall, fit, handsome, not bald, etc.?

You asked me if I wanted more examples. I said yes. You don't provide said examples. See Matt Damon, Jon Stewart, Jerry Seinfeld, Patrick Dempsey, Alec Baldwin, Vince Vaughn, Christian Bale, Paul Rudd, etc. Again I didn't say nobodies, I said someone like a teacher, lawyer, doctor, etc. And these are just actors. There are a lot of pro athletes married to regular women.

Well I would think that most, if not all, guys wouldn't want to wait for marriage if a girl has already had sex. But your situation is different.

Gal Gadot's husband, has a net worth of $25 million. Marcia Cross' husband is a stockbroker but I'll give you this one. Reese Witherspoon's current husband is a talent agent that represents and deals with many A-list celebrities. Tina Fey's husband is a top contributor to the show 30 Rock. Meryl Streep, ok you are right. Ellen Pompeo's husband has a net worth of $70 mill. Every single one of these women that you listed, even the ones where I said you were right have husband's that have some soci…

Are you waiting for marriage but you've had sex before?

A lot of pro athletes marry regular women. Name me some famous women who are married to regular (doctor, lawyer, teacher, firefighter, etc.) people.

Most of them date high status people. The two exceptions, Doutzen Kroes and Candice Swanepoel, even those two are with semi-status partners. Like a lot of pro athletes will date regular women. I'm talking about that kind. Like would you see Rihanna date a teacher? Or Taylor Swift date a lawyer?

Again read my post. It's not just about status. It's about status AND looks. Are these men much more attractive than the woman in question?

You clearly didn't read my post and/or comments. I said that women even call ugly women beautiful when they clearly are not. And then I asked, is it because that the bar is lower for women to be considered beautiful.

I see what you are saying but I would still say it's a lower bar. The types you listed are specific types that not everyone is going to find attractive. I was talking about general types that people will find attractive even if they are not into him. Let me explain below. So a short beautiful woman would be considered attractive in the general sense but a short beautiful man would not. They have essentially the same qualities but the fact that height is part of the attractiveness for men makes t…

Could this be because you judge a woman's appearance much easier than a man's? Like I've seen women call other women beautiful and I'm like really? But then those same women will call a decent looking guy ugly.

When I meant lower bar, I meant there are a wider range of qualities for a woman to be considered attractive while for men to be considered attractive they have to fall within a specific category. Women considered beautiful can be : short or tall; fat or thin; ugly or beautiful, etc. Men considered beautiful usually have to fall within this specific category: tall, fit, handsome face.

Yeah this is honestly dependent on the guy. If sex isn't that important for a woman, she should just find a man who feels the same way.

No this had to do with her sex appeal. She wanted to see how many guys found her "hot". I can understand this because if you go on pretty much every photo of a woman on IG, you'll see a lot of "beautiful" comments from other women. Of course she listens to other women in every aspect of her life. All her best friends were women.

I'm assuming you are talking about vaginal sex when you are talking about being unable to have sex. Is this assumption correct?

Of course there's going to be a lot of men who find fat women attractive. Hence why the bar is lower. Also, I would think that a 6'4" woman will have many more suitors than a 5'2" man.

What she did is not any variation of "I'm not like other girls"

I am not disagreeing with you at all. Wouldn't you leave a relationship if you weren't happy? If your boyfriend has a high-libido and you don't, why are you together? Sounds like incompatibility. Again, this is just a scenario. If you were unable to have sex, would you meet his needs in other ways? Wouldn't you want him to be happy?

No she is not a pick me. She's actually in a relationship with a man who is better looking than her. She is very funny and very down-to-earth. I loved talking to her whenever we hung out. Also, a woman who treats her man well is not a pickme in the same way that a man who treats his woman well is not a simp.

So you do agree that the bar is lower for women to be considered beautiful. I'm sorry but I don't consider fat women or ugly women attractive (but I do sometimes make the comment that if a particular fat woman lost weight, she would be attractive but I guess it goes the same way for fat guys as well). But also it could be because women calling other women beautiful has been so watered down so some women don't think too much of it. One of my female friends told me that whenever she posted a "hot"…

You think that because the bar is much lower for a woman to be deemed attractive than a man. I've seen women compliment fat women, thin women, fit women, short women, tall women, beautiful women, ugly women, etc. but for a man to be considered attractive, he has to be tall, fit, and handsome. So assuming you are heterosexual, you would choose a man in this case even though your initial statement said women. This is clearly subjective and fueled with hatred for men. Again this is completely false…

Do you think it has to do with women having a lower bar for beauty than men that you consider these men to be average/ugly?

Did you even read my post? And no it is a pretty common sentiment that women mostly "date up". Your post seems like you hate men but I'll answer your questions. 1) Who is more attractive? This is subjective. But the ugliest woman is not more attractive than the best looking man. 2) Who would you rather be stuck in an elevator with? Don't really care. There are shitty men and shitty women. 3) Who would you rather go to dinner with? If she was attractive and interesting, the woman for sure. But if…

Well there is no obsession. It's just an observation that I was curious to know what others thought. Isn't this the whole point of this sub?

You are right that those that have a fat fetish are mostly men. As for the overestimating, I am not talking about myself, I was talking about when I see other men. But I do agree that most couples are within the looksmatch range regardless of social status.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/20 10:08 PM

Do you think it has to do with the fact that women have a wider range to be considered beautiful i.e., she could be short or tall, skinny or fat or fit, beautiful or ugly, etc., while men to be considered beautiful have a very narrow range (tall, fit, handsome) that contributes to you viewing looks mismatched couples in favour of the woman being more attractive?

Do you think this is just bias on your part? I feel like women have a much lower bar for what they deem attractive than men. I've seen women compliment fat women, skinny women, short women, tall women, ugly women, beautiful women, etc. but for a man to be attractive he is only considered attractive if he is tall, fit, and has a handsome face. Also do you think that since they are your friends, you rate them higher than you would if they weren't?

It seems like most looks mis-matched couples is where the man is better looking than the woman. Of course there are some where the woman is better looking but I feel like the former is more common, not by a lot, but more common (maybe 60-40 or 65-35). One trend I've noticed is that you'll see a lot of obese women with thin men but I haven't seen too many obese men with thin women.

I feel like this is only seen in movies. I agree that the sentiment is true but you rarely see it in the real world.

Were these men ugly at the time they met?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/20 09:18 PM

That is just wishful thinking. But I was more talking about the prevalence of both scenarios being common but the opposite ones feel more like outliers.

I clearly explained "dating down" in my post. Please read before responding.
