I feel dirty just reading the title and body of this post. This is fucking weird.

TL;DR: act like a man. Don't stand on the sidelines.

The other day my girlfriend and I were at the bar, and she wanted me to try and pick her up. So i decided to play along. At the end of it she said I was really good at my pickup and she seemed a lot more "into me" the rest of the night. Also, when you meet you people, maintain the level of awesomeness.

Me too man. There's a line between having really good game and being a douche.

You just need to focus on speaking louder. I don't mean yelling, but enough to project yourself and make yourself heard. Simple Pick Up have a good video on it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xzrc8fZISDo What I do (because I still sometimes fall victim to it) is that I'm sort of conscience to what I just said and take a mental note on it. I don't mean this as in while you're talking to constantly have in the back of your mind "speak louder speak louder etc etc" because it's just distracting. For…

Plain and simply - you're acting like a push over. Immediately she's kind of bossy telling me to go get a drink (feeling like I should have told her to buy me one) I used to act somewhat like you. You need to learn to not take shit from people. It comes with time, but in order to fix it, you need to act upon it. Also, posture, the way you present yourself (body language), and the way you convey your voice when you talk to people.

I know a couple of people with social anxiety, and I honestly wouldn't be able to tell when they're around me because I try to be as comfortable as I can

One word. Straya.

Exactly. I never go out to get drunk. I always make sure I'm in that right state of mind and 100% myself. I think this guy's vlog is more focussed towards people who go out, smash 3 shots in a row and then wash it down with more shots and bourbon.

Oh yeah definitely. If that's the case, then most of the time they are in a relationship. Or their just really nervous about talking to people

Yeah it could. However, what I explained above, I do in a playful manner. If they say "haha I was texting my boyfriend!" just say "aw that's cute /smile" and just keep talking to them. Your goal should also be to make more friends i.e increase the size of your social circle

You honestly know what I do? Once I've befriended a girl at a party/club or whatever, and she's texting or on facebook next to me, I just press the lock button on their phone and give a sly smile and tell them to stop being anti social. You could also playfully take their phone from them. I haven't really tried this on women I haven't spoken to yet either. Oh, and as for your mentality, just honestly get over it. Deal with what's going on and be fun. Just get their attention

Definitely! I've always had a strict rule with myself (while I was single) - never get with anyone that is in a relationship.

So basically Seddit, when talking to women what you want to do is throw your hands in the air into a V shape and tilt your chin upwards slightly.

Yes, but this subreddit also helps a lot of people with their game in approaching, avoiding the friend zone and overall confidence of which can help in getting the girl/guy you like to be with you.

Do not dwell on this situation mate. It'll completely fuck your head inside out. It's best to just leave it where it is and move on.

Seddit scientific report? Let's get this going. If everyone (hypothetically) get's 10 numbers in a week, records their findings and observations and submits them back here, I'm sure we'll have a large enough sample size.

Not gonna lie man, it still happens to me. But you learn to repress it and just talk without dwelling on what you think might happen and rather realise what's happening at the present moment is worth dwelling on.

Really cute girl is walking out of class, why should I stop her and start a conversation? Why not? hahahaha, life's hard in Mechanical engineering. There are a few girls, but only one really pretty one. All the other pretty ones do Civil :(

Fellow Engineer here. Engineer's love beer to drink. Find some people your age within the company you work for, get to know them, go out with them etc etc. Also, watch these guys: Nerds pick up chicks Same guys picking up while in wheelchairs Their entire video channel. These guys will help you realise that confidence is everything and they'll give you pointers on other stuff to.

I was this guy once: "I'm this. I'm that. I have this. I have that. I'll treat you like this instead of like that. Why do you waste time with guys who act like that, when you have a man who'll treat you like this sitting right in front of you?" You learn from you mistakes ladies and gentlemen.

I can vouch for the "looks aren't everything" part. Not me personally, but my girlfriends cousins boyfriend isn't the greatest looking guy. In fact I'd probably rate him a 5/10. But my gf's cousin is gorgeous. If you were to ever meet this guy, his confidence is empowering. The second I met him, we spoke for AGES and he was the same with everyone to. He's absolutely hilarious to. I'm in stitches every time I see the guy

I have a question - how long did it take you to to all of this? I don't have trouble talking to girls, it's just the first process that I have trouble with i.e. seeing a pretty girl and mustering up the courage to go say hi

Look but don't touch. I've been with the same girl for almost 2 years now, and I know how you feel. Trust me. But like you said, you can't be a shit bag, so for the time being you gotta keep it low for a while. That being said, don't not talk to them. Make friends dude!

Your friend reminds me of a younger me. But I learnt from my mistakes.
