The data you quote is from cases of violent crime in general, not domestic abuse, which is the issue we're discussing here. I think you absolutely can argue that domestic homicide and general homicide are different issues. The video was about domestic abuse, not general violence. Hence this is the topic we're discussing. Thank you for your balanced reply. I agree that the video doesn't mislead, but that it may be perceived incorrectly by young impressionable people. I agree that both genders are subject to unique and complex degrees of shit when it comes to domestic abuse, and we need to be clear on all of it.

As I said in my first post, I really do get the point of the video. Violence against men happens and we don't give it enough credit. However I think that fact needs to be accompanied by information about the relative severity of violence against women, so that impressionable young people don't start developing bigoted ideals and start churning out "What about Men" arguments.

I literally mentioned nothing about equality. I'm not saying that we should focus on solving domestic abuse against women before we solve domestic abuse against men. I'm not saying that women are more deserving of protection than men. What I am saying is that male violence is inherently more severe than female violence, so our response to it needs to be appropriately powerful. But my point here is that two victims are not necessarily the same. A man getting punched in the face by a woman is a crime, he is a victim. A woman getting raped and murdered by a man is a crime, she is a victim. Yet the second scenario happens so much more often to women than it does to men - so the "violence is violence, a victim's a victim" argument falls flat. To really address domestic abuse, we need to understand the full spectrum of violence, and all its nuances.
