Yep. Add on the fact that if the employee detaining them were wrong, and the company/business is opened up to a very large lawsuit for detaining someone under false pretenses, which is something that even gets police officers in trouble on occasion.

Mods have had a long storied opinion of not enforcing shit. They only just "started to care" when they realized all the_donald people came over here and realized this subreddit could be next

I agree. The reason why it turned to shit is because they mods dont ban or really moderate.

I was in the teacher pipeline. There are tremendously awesome teachers that happen to be female. Yes, a lack of male role models exists due to how males are less likely to enter the profession due to the increased risk of false claims, etc. But dont diminish the work and effort people put into teaching at any level just because they have a vagina.

No, it's not those in particular. It's a well known fact that men are underreporters of sexual assault due to how they believe it will stigmatize them and admitting the fact that it happened makes them less "manly". https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21653264 They could, but the news does that to everyone, so please don't inject your personal narrative into it.

Except he had people coming out to testify against him, whereas no one has come forward here. Most men wont want to because there is an additional bias/social issue where men who have been taken advantage of dont want to come forward since they think it undermines their sense of self. Also, stop being an oppositional twat.

And it's also harder to prove 2-4 years after the fact when most drugs that knock people out are out of people's systems within 1-3 days.

Uh.... what about the lack of denouncement a out the alt right dude who just got successive life sentences for driving down to a protest to run over "dem libs"? Both sides have radicals that are shitty. I dont think normal people who identify as belonging to either side think violence is an acceptable tool for protest or... anything. Stop watching fox news.

......that sentiment is on both sides of the political spectrum, and on the extremes of both ends. Kathy has a solid history of only being for herself and using whomever and whatever she can to benefit her alone.

She did it to further her career and make a name for herself, using the political climate as a tool due to the extra attention and national spotlight being on the elections. She was leveraging politics for her, not politicking.

This isnt about politics. This lady is insane. Legitimately insane. She might not even be a leftist, but thought this antic would get her support/job offers.

I pointed out issues with politicians on both sides of the aisle. There are people on both sides that conduct themselves in a manner that does not befit the office they are elected to, as similarly "unqualified" per your standards, and yet remain in office.

I think it was like an email or some other paper trail. The thing is, it's hard to find written/solid evidence for that, especially 8 years after the fact.
/r/PussyPassDenied03/07/19 08:16 PM

Essentially in most places the state takes the best interest of the child before paternity, unless paternity is contested ASAP. I think the only precedent for stopping it or winning a suit like this 9 years after the fact ive seen is that the man has to prove or find proof that the wife knowingly knew the child was not hers, and that she lied to the state and the father, which is a high bar to clear.

Yeah, there seem to be a lot of people who are illiterate of what laws are and try to make a fuss to make a point on both sides of the political spectrum. On one hand, you have uncivil protesters, and on the other you get people bringing handguns into libraries and government buildings (where they are banned from) and raising a stink there.

Nah, nice and polite cops exist, but they're not reported on the news or on YouTube. Though if a "good" cop covers for a dirty or bad cop, they're not good.

She has been *charged* with a crime, not *convicted*, meaning they can be held liable under certain defamation laws in certain countries. While you are true in that there is a mountain of evidence, standard operating procedures of news companies include covering their asses of liability.

That's a wording used by news outlets to cover a story without opening themselves up to litigation. It's stupid, but it protects them from libel lawsuits. The only time they outright say they did it if they're charged and convicted.

I don't think this fits under PPD; she got no lenient sentence due to her gender being "taken into consideration"; she got her license revoked, was fined, and can never work in a medical field again due to basically being blacklisted, now (and the lack of a license).

1) that was in the cartoon show after the movie, not in the main movie. 2) If they wanted to be "so progressive" they would not have followed the cookie cutter approach of "lets make a movie, but with only opposite genders!"

Isn't this the movie that stereotype casted white women as PHD's and the token black female as a janitor? And the same movie that flopped because people had some qualms about the movie's quality after seeing the trailer, which was met with the entire cast pretty much calling everyone who critiqued it as being sexist pigs (even though some of those critical reviewers were female)?

Not ppd. As an aside, white privilege exists, but i do agree that its being overused for alot of things since its become "trendy" to people to just slam that and act like they won an argument. White privilege is being able to be pulled over by the police without having to fear being shot and being a headline in the local news. It's a white persom labelled as a tragic person with a mental illness when they shoot up a church because they hate x group instead of being a domestic terrorist. It is no…

Heeeeeee did a bit more than that (using his position and influence within his career to influence people and commit sexual harassment is a bit more serious than just the harassment itself) but yeah. There's a saying that there are three types of laws in the USA: One for the rich, one for the police, and one for you and me. Im guessing shes rich and has connections .

Narcissistic, entitled people of both genders are incapable of comprehending the idea of "consent" since the only person that matters to them is, well, them. I've seen it IRL in this one girl I know from undergrad. that could not seem to wrap her head around the fact that a mutual friend did not want to have sex with her. Her response to him denying her every time? "But, IIIII Want it"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citizen%27s_arrest#State_statutes IANAL, and the statutes/legalities vary state by state, but yes, citizen's arrest can be applied here depending on the state. Texas does allow for it. https://c.ymcdn.com/sites/www.sanantoniobar.org/resource/resmgr/imported/CitizensArrest.pdf

Seeing as i'm as big as that guy i'd either pin him down or write down his license plate number prior to calling the cops and reporting his ass, but yes punching someone is a little egregious when detaining someone when they don't instigate it. That being said, they are both dicks in this situation and this post goes against the subreddit's rules.

Citizen's arrest is a thing, no? Stealing a parking spot is a dick move, but damaging someone's property to that extent is a misdemeanor and would fall under that category.

Regardless, how is this a pussypass? Both the people featured in this video are cunts (regardless of whether or not they possess a biological one), and both deserve to face the consequences of their actions.

This isn't a pussypass... The guy was in the wrong and the woman could arguably be defending their property. Just because the mother stole the parking space doesn't make him thrashing their car like an overgrown toddler right, and neither does it make beating the crap out of her in response to the punch (the law allows you to defend yourself, but only in the same capacity as they escalate it; bashing her head against another car gratuitously exceeds that threshold. Another example would be like …
