I’d say there’s a point of diminishing return. The Hanes sweatpants at Walmart look lame and fit pretty terribly. But you can pay $5 more and get the Russell. This look modern, fit better and are far higher quality. From there, it’s really hard to justify jumping $30 more to Nike, Adidas, etc. it’s logos at that point.

If not a Toyota, and you have or want an inexpensive (relative, of course) vehicle, I’d say a Buick would be a good choice as well. I’ve seen many a Regal go on for eternity. If you can tolerate changing a guaranteed head gasket failure, Subaru Outback was an old beast. Nissans back in the 90’s were solid. Not anymore. Please don’t buy a late model Nissan.
