You said something...."I wanted to choose her, and love her." I, along with many other men had that same thing in our heads......Unfortunately when we did that, we lost ourselves. Choose you my friend........And as for hating on her, don't.....You are putting emotional energies into something you have no control over. I'll suggest to you to look on YouTube and listen to John Griffin Life 2.0.....He's very insightful and I think it can do you some good to help you cope this hurt that you have ins…

I live in TX, but no matter....Courts are rigged against men. I should have never married. Now women are wondering where all the "good men" have gone? They are still around, they just aren't going to get married. If you look at marriage as a business, the whole concept isn't a safe business decision.

Get one credit card with only your name, then use it JUST FOR EMERGENCIES. Once you get that card, then have a freeze put on your credit. I've heard of nightmare that ex's do to their husbands by opening multiple credit card accounts and running all the cards to the max. Take out 1/2 of the cash from the bank/savings, and open an account WITH ONLY YOUR NAME. See about getting the police report from the Domestic Violence incident as well. Make sure your attorney has it! Good luck.

Focus on what you can control. Focus on getting a place. I know you mentioned of sleeping in your truck, so it would be hard for the kids to spend the night. Main thing is to focus on your work and supporting yourself. Speaking of support, if she makes more than you, shouldn't your attorney file for some sort of spousal maintenance? If you were a woman, you know that you would be getting something...right? She get the house, and you don't get anything? So much for that fairness and equality....r…

If anything I have got out of therapy is I will speak back to her. I will not tolerate her nagfests and I will call her on it. She doesn’t like it, but I don’t give a fuck. What’s she going to do, stop having sex with me?? She’s done that already and at this point it doesn’t matter, I’m not attracted to her at all. Never get married, it’s an endeavor that is stacked against men.

I hope that your attorney will use her business as some leverage. Did she start the business after you were married? Did she own the business before the marraige, then wouldn't you be entitled to something if the business grew? I would think so! Tell her if you want some of my pension, fine....Then I'm going to get 25, or 30% of the profits from your business.

If she works, then she has income coming in, and she isn't destitute. If the kids are divided 50/50, I would think there wouldn't be any child support. If she makes more than you, you could actually petition her for alimony. If there is anyway that you could tip the scales where she could actually pay you, use that leverage to get her to back the f-off on those ridiculous demands. I don't think it's unreasonable to give her the house, especially if it's worth more than your pension.

I'm not a lawyer, but I think it depends on what state you're in. In Texas, it appears that they really stive to keep things 50/50. As long as both parents aren't drug addicts the kids will be split 50/50. Texas is also a no-fault state, so even if you, or she had a number of affairs, it won't matter, and it may be inadmissable anyway. If the house is worth it to let her have it, and you keep your pension, try to do that. As for cars, let her have the better one, especially if it's paid off. Jus…

I’m not a lawyer, but the residency of the kids may have some relevance. What school are they enrolled in? If you have them enrolled in a school in Texas, it might establish if Texas, or the state you are moving from has jurisdiction. I’d get ahold of an attorney in your current state, then talk to an attorney in Texas to get the best answer.

Just keep calm, and on the theme of "what's best for the kids". As a matter of fact, compliment her for it. If you manage to do this, it may also be a smoother transistion with the finances. The last thing you want is her to go to war, and drag it out in court. It will end up costing BOTH of you money with attoneys, and that money could have been put towards the benefits of the kids. As for her father, you do what you are comfortable with. It sounds like you respect him. It's up to you, but if y…

I'm no lawyer, but I wouldn't say anything to her about your new job. Last thing you need is to get this job before the divorce is finalized and you have a new revised, higher income. You can't take the risk of her trying to get a modification based on that salary. Best of luck to you, I too have discovered that she really didn' love me, but loved me for the provided I was. I gave her my heart, and all she wanted was my wallet.

Check out Corey Wayne's How to be a 3% Man......I think it could be helpful for you. I got it on Audible, and I have listen to it several times. There is some great information and insight that can help you out. One example is the way you phrased "Will you go out with me?" That sounds weak....If you are talking to a girl, and she hints that she has nothing going on over the weekend, or a Friday evening, what you should say is...."I'm free on Friday night, and I'm gong to take you out to dinner. …

Start talking to attorneys and get the financials set up so the attorney can look them over. Put a freeze on your credit. Once you see the numbers of what it's going to cost, that will give you more information and time to process the financials. Also talk to the attorney about those very questions you have as to what they have seen in their practice. If she works I'd suggest you have seperate accounts and one account to pay the mutual bills for. It will make the numbers easier to follow. Sorry …

We are on the same wavelength.....I've been dealing with a dead bedroom for almost 24 yrs. I've come to the realization that she loved me for being the provider, but I don't think she really loved me as a husband. We had some good times, but the last 10 years have been especially hard. I'm at peace with what is coming, because I'm going to be the one to file. I may end up living in a refridgerator carton, but I'll be happy in my refridgerator carton. Yes, John is great....I'm glad you found him.

I'm not divorced, but more than likely will file in the next 2 yrs. I have a kid in college, and I got to get her graduated and employed before I pull the pin. The heaviness is a natural reaction. I'm not saying it's going to be easy, but from what I've seen on this post, most men do speak of it. Depending on where you are, I'd suggest taking a walk or do some sort of activity to get the blood flowing. Exercise is not only physically benefical, but mentally as well. I'd also suggest speaking to …

Let us guess....the house was her idea? Of course it was! And us, being men want to make our wives happy, because that's what "nice guys" do. I've finally have thrown in the towel, I told her that I'm not responisible for her happiness, it's ON HER!! I'm trying to get our kid through college and employeed. Then I'll pull the pin.

Yes, however she is going through health issues and he's an honerable man. He also loves his kids very much. He doesn't want his kids to have to deal with her, when he can. He said that this is a temp thing till she can get back up on her feet. He sleeps with his dogs, in another room, not with her.

Maybe her attorney DOESN'T KNOW. Just keep it, don't repond to her. Forward it to your attorney, and let them do their job. If she calls you, record it! What ever she says, document it. It sounds like she is always right, and everyone else is wrong. Let her dig her own hole.

It's like she's OJ Simpson. You could show OJ, or in this case your wife, a video of the incident, and they will still deny that was them in the video. Yes, you will think you are going crazy. What's actually happening is she IS driving you crazy!

This is the definition of "gas lighting". You observe the behavior of your wife/gf, and then when you call them on it, they will either deny it happened, or that your observations were off. I've been in a sexless marriage for 23 yrs, I won't bore you with the long story. But this finally broke me, and I went off the rails. I was making dinner one night, and as she walked into the kitchen, I tried to reach out to put my arms around and hug her. (I was testing her) She pushed me back and said "wha…

First and foremost take care of yourself, you will be a better father to the kids…Those kids are the focus…Even if she’s being an ass, tell her that BOTH of you want what’s best for the kids…it’s best to keep it non adversarial….I’ll suggest a YouTube series called John Griffin Life 2.0….he’s got true living life advice that I think could help you greatly!!! I’ll also advise therapy. Don’t turn to alcohol or drugs!!! First, it costs money….Second, if one of those kids gets sick or needs to go to…

Thanks bud....appreciate it.....And since you're on a budget, the letter is a pretty inexpensive, romantic thing...lol.....Just think with the age of e-mails and such, when would you think the last time she received a letter??? She will jump all over you!!

So, are you in a no-fault state? And how bad was the hit? My mrs. has been a stay at home for 20 plus years....I've been practically begging her to go back to work...nursing...but she says that the hospitals and dr.s offices don't pay enough....I can say something is better than nothing!

I'm the roadmap to bad decisions!!! I got 32 yrs into my marriage, and 23 would be considered sexless. I got to get the kid out of college, and employed before I pull the pin. You say that I have a smooth move?? I used to be that way, then the mrs. just turned into a nag, and didn't like anything I did. If I did something like that now to her, she would complain about my penmanship....I don't know what happened to her....us.....sad...

It's good to see someone out there having success. I'm navagating with a dead bedroom, and a wife who really does nothing....she's a stay at home spouse. I'd suggest something that would blow your lady's doors off.....Write her a letter, telling her how you miss her, and the things that she does that makes you miss her. Then mail it to her home address.....When she gets home, and gets her mail, that will be waiting for her....It will blow her doors off....

Yep, it’s weird isn’t it…just one day one of her actions….the tens of thousands of negatives she will hurl at you…but then one will just make you go poof! It’s a light switch…your attraction to her turns off…and it won’t turn back on..

Set up hidden cameras. Recordthe abuse. Once you have the assaults on video, call the cops. Get her arrested for family violence and get an emergency restraining order. Have the divorce papers ready to go. Serve her the papers when the cops arrest her.

Thank you for your post, I do want to ask guys out there.....going through and finishing the divorce....How many of y'all were taking anxiety or depression meds before the divorce, and are now no longer on them after the divorce? I bet there are more than a few that have miraculouly been cured of their mental ailments after the divorce.
