This is why I opted for my sterilization. I knew I was done having kids. I didn't want to risk another pregnancy, period. Not just "this one person can't get me pregnant" but "nobody, ever again, no matter what."

My favourite colleague isn't much taller than me, and I'm not a tall woman. He's funny and generous and professionally successful and his wife is a stone cold fox. Being short isn't the problem for these men.

I didn't see a single comment pointing out that the age difference between them is a giant red flag all on its own. Oh, your son is so precious and would never hurt anyone, eh? So what's he doing in his 40s hooking up with a girl half his age? Don't try to tell me there aren't some serious, serious issues in that relationship.

And married ladies in Ontario, talk to your parents about having a stipulation in their will that income from the inheritance is part of the inheritance and to be excluded from net family assets. This will protect any interest your inheritance accrues or any dividends from investments, as well as income generated by a rental property. Never use your inheritance to purchase, renovate, pay off, or otherwise have anything to do with your matrimonial home.

My ex used to call me threatening suicide multiple times a month. My most effective responses were 1. Calling 911 and 2. Telling him to die or get off the gallows, because I needed to sleep and go to work the next day, and hanging up.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
