I've been swiping for 5 months now and I've gotten only two matches, 1 which was shortly abandoned or simply too lazy to unmatch me, another who seemed to resonate with me but rejected and unmatched after a 5 minute talk. That's less than a 0.02% match rate so far. Sucks. A few female co-workers also use Tinder. From what I've heard second hand, they say they're having difficulty finding physically attractive men, which seems weird to me since they're fairly pretty themselves.

One of my brothers is an virgin. I just tell him to do some weight training, lose some fat, get a job, move into his own place, and hope he figures it out eventually, because hell if I know what to do, I'm in the same position. Luckily, his medication provides him some positivity and a can-do attitude despite his schizophrenia so I suspect he'll be more successful than me going forward.

I don't think these blue-pill incels you're talking about are particularly concerned about male sexuality. They're more concerned with burdening an attractive women with their presence, a being so beautiful and wonderful that even gazing upon their visage grants them a temporary euphoria. If that man is neither physically attractive or personable and a woman wants someone who at least can give a genuine smile, what can the incel offer? Fake happiness with a strained smile as they try to muster a…

I'm of the opinion that if a man can sleep with a woman, the woman could easily entertain starting something longer term if the man pursued. After all, the woman vetted the man and felt attracted enough to lust for him. Casual sex is harder in the sense that the woman already wrote off long term relationships. But attractiveness being equal, starting a relationship should be easy.

I'm Chinese. I've tried with Chinese American girls and East Asian American girls in general and, unless I'm completely socially blind which is a possibility, I typically do not see any signs of interest. Even in those cases, I tried to be charming, escalating ineptly, and asking them out on dates which were of course rejected unequivocally. I've been told that if I lived overseas in Hong Kong or Vietnam, I'd be very attractive. Of course, I was born and bred in the states so I really don't have…

I'd love to be a father with a family, some good kids, and a wife who is there to make sure they are cared for and grow to be healthy. I assure you, I fantasize about it regularly. However, for as long as I've tried, no girl has ever seemed to be attracted to me. There's only been rare occasions where I've gotten attention due to my race. Even then, I'm unable to talk for 5 minutes before they zone out on their phones or just straight out reject me. I try to groom myself and be more personable, …

Sure. I was originally thinking the second man could at least attract another woman regularly, but if he's not proficient in seduction, then yeah, that situation is much worse than not being married into a tepid but otherwise ideally comfortable marriage. Might as well just try to vet a good enough wife and settle down rather than chase unto the grave.

Option one seems really nice. It's what I would want if I could get it. I'm at the point of hopelessness that no sex isn't a deal breaker. If I'm really that horny but I can neither generate lust nor wait for the appropriate time, I can just engage in masturbatory activities. Plus, in this scenario, the wife already has family as a value so I would think the family should be stable as long as I'm also stable. It's the prize of family separated from physical attraction. Doesn't sound like a bad f…

I'm unsure there's truly an issue in the modern dating world. People are ultimately trying to find other people who would enrich their lives, whether for casual sexual encounters or for long term relationships with potential for family. I think what some observers would comment that there is disproportionate discontent compared to some forlorn previous age where everyone was more satisfied with dating. One common thread I read a lot is that the old days lead to happier outcomes. I can't say for …

I watched through it when I started my Netflix trial last month. I personally laughed a lot at the show mostly due to how unrelatably absurd the scenarios were to me. Except for a small part of the end of the show dealing with porn, almost every episode was distant to me. Like I read of accounts of growing up on the internet and I'm able to make the appropriate connection due to living vicariously through others. Made me feel like such an alien.

Would becoming a high school teacher be considered successful? As I understand, she wanted to be a SAHM but since her husband couldn't enough money to provide a decent life, she had to work herself. She started doing odd jobs and caring for the elderly. Went to school to complete her masters. Got a job as a teacher. She's been working over 15 years and is ready to commit to a few more to maximize pension. I am not married.

I live alone so I have to clean and cook for myself. Luckily, growing up, my mother instilled within me the discipline to clean and knowledge of how to cook some old world peasant food. A year back, I rented out a small room near work with 3 other people. I didn't have access to washer and dryer on premise so every weekend, I'd drive to the laundromat to throw my separated clothes, go to the grocery store to buy food for the week, come back to the mat to throw my clothes in the dryer, go back ho…

The only objective purpose of life is to fucking exist. The human species may have evolved to be biased towards procreation, but humanity did not come into being to reproduce. That's ascribing some intent by some universal force to create beings that reproduce and spread. However, the desire to reproduce is just a symptom of existence, not some categorical imperative.

Right, that's probably correct. I should probably qualify my statement a bit more in that I think some of the more modern developments in video game culture are at least in part caused by today's social dysphoria. The culture is responding to those depressed souls and in kind the culture adopts them and evolves accordingly.

I'm not sure if video game addiction needs to be taken more seriously since I'm of the opinion that those who fall into an unhealthy relationship with video games probably aren't that valuable to the service of others. In this case, video games seem to be a fun, merciful rat race for them to get lost in without actively harming others. Same as sex dolls. Those who use them can do so without burdening others with their unattractive qualities. Overall, video games, especially competitive ones, see…

Harmful to the current configuration of human existence. I'd instead argue that the injection of different social fictions would change human existence. The previous configuration would be destroyed to make way for a new, probably not that different from previous, existence. Not better or worse, just different.

Evolution has no intent other than existence. The niceties that have been borne by society exist as a function of individual's will for those social fictions to exist for whatever, typically beneficial for them, reason. Those social fictions then propagate as an abstract social entity, also capable of gradual evolution over time. Autistic individuals in society are individuals all the same and they attempt to exert their will just like any individual in society. As such, they'll attempt to creat…

If a person is attractive and has a great personality, they'd be able to attract others. If the person is not able to attract others, then they are not attractive or have a great personality. Telling a person that they're attractive when they have no evidence to support that claim is telling someone a seemingly illogical conclusion. How can a person be attractive if they do not attract others? There's no real cause. People just are. It's a state of being. If you isolated people and allowed them …

I haven't exchanged any words with him. In the days following, I've entered his gym, finished my workout, and left without a word. Our relationship has been cold since then, but he hasn't made any motions to kick me out. That said, if he wanted to kick me out, I'd understand. He may be hesitant to do anything since he's also under some pressure after the building was bought out by a wealthy investor who has made his intent clear to raise rent in an attempt to muscle him out. As such, I don't think he wants to lose any business until he can make a move. He's in a tough situation.

That I'm not too sure about. Presumably, yes, the purpose of marrying is to have children so the family line would continue, but the more I've talked with my family, the more I see interesting mutations on traditions. I remember recently talking about getting married and finding someone with my mother and she said that she hoped I would one day find a nice woman... or man to marry. May perhaps be different cultures, but parents of my generation are incredibly hopeful for their children to get married. Being first generation American born Chinese Americans, marriage is considered a paramount to achieving happiness and a vital benchmark to being better than the previous (the parent's) generation. Getting married and having children is also considered one's duty to society, at least back in the mainland. For me, I remember having a meal with my mother as part of my 26th birth…

You're kinda suggesting that one's physical appearance is less for oneself or for others, but simply a part of the state of being of a person. I think you're saying people look how they look and they do what they can. In most cases, I think you're probably right. However, I think there are some people who simply are not happy with how they look like, irrespective of what other's think. If I lived in a universe where my current appearance was beautiful to others, I don't I would be happy. There'd…

Beauty is just something I value, something innate, something core, something emotional inside that wants to look beautiful. For example, the color blue is valuable to me. I could say "I like blue because it represents the great sky and I like the sky." but that'd be me bullshitting. I look at blue. I like it. I get that indescribable approving feeling. I look at a beautiful girl, a configuration of features so harmonious and aesthetically pleasing, and I get that feeling. That's it's good and r…

I guess that comes with the territory. When the concept of physical beauty seems so personally unattainable and the maintenance of beauty seems otherwise simple and mundane, it seriously grinds my gears when those with beauty unknowingly or dispassionately let themselves speedily decay. Out and about, I just keep my mouth shut since I understand that most people feel such talk is patronizing. And in my defense, u/PBRScagsquad originally made the allusion. I just ran with it.

The essence of black pill is that desirability and value have already been destined through formative events that lead to the present state. As such, nothing matters since circumstance would have determined how attractive someone is regardless of any perceived effort. Physical attractiveness is simply the clearest example of that idea, that despite any effort to improve or any damning qualities, the most beautiful people are also the most attractive. The common case study that's brought up is Je…

I'm simply talking about my personal experience having lived for this short time. I make no pretense of knowing how a woman experiences their life. I'm not female. All I know is that I look at myself in the mirror and see a piece of shit and yearn to look like what I value. Everyday I look in the mirror and I wish I looked like a beautiful woman so I wouldn't have to look at that piece of shit again.

Speaking personally, the reason I would consider transitioning to be a trans woman would be to capture the feminine mystique and beauty. I absolutely abhor the masculine ideals of beauty and handsomeness and staring into the mirror causes my great stress at just how repulsive I look. However, my body has been ravaged by testosterone and has given me wide shoulders, a flat chest, narrow hips, Adam's apple, beard, and a weak but vaguely masculine voice. I don't think people who are happily single would necessarily have the same configurations of wants and needs as compared to those whose wants and needs includes a relationship. There are probably some human beings who simply don't have those wants/needs. They're probably rare though. At the same time, even though they may not have those wants/needs, they may still benefit from a meaningful relationship if the partner provides something of value. In a way, that brings up the question if being pa…

I am reminded of a terper a few years back who admitted several times that he was ok with being homosexual or bisexual as long as the "boipussy" looked sufficiently physically attractive. Each time, he used the same image of a Russian transsexual. What was funny was that at first he didn't know she was trans until someone pointed out she used to be a guy at which he declared the "now" the "age of the boipussy". Good times.

I think the self that is being projected after being introduced to the culture and environment is invariably attractive to "someone". Finding those someones may be more or less difficult depending on the configuration of that self (personality and looks). At least, that's my school of thought. Tinder reminds me of OkCupid except brevity seems to be enforced by the limits to profiles. I've only been on two weeks, but Tinder seems to attract the same crowd as most other dating sites with some looking for something casual while others vet some more for longer term relationships. I'd intuit that the efficacy of Tinder for long term is low, but I have no data to back that assumption. I was and still am quite shy with girls. It's been so far in the past I don't quite remember why girls would visibly wince in my presence. One girl is particular would come straight up to me, on several occasions, to tell me I "I sucked" and walked off. There was a underclass guy who looked like a girl in high school. Not every guy who values getting a girlfriend but doesn't have one will react with hate and spite, though. Personally, the only motivation for me for going to the gym is for the abstract "life" points I've convinced myself I'm getting. As tired as the meme can get, the two rules to attraction hold true: 1. Be attractive. 2. Don't be unattractive. Physical beauty is only one aspect of the game. I think many people make the mistake of attributing their failure purely to being physically ugly and disregard that they are holistically unattractive in numerous other ways. By understanding what one can and cannot change can they then make an informed decision to play the game or quit. However, that type of self-awareness can be diffi…

To me, TRP is more characteristic of an anger management group than a hate group. Out of anger, people can say some really nasty things and they may not realize the implications their verbiage might entail. If we're trying to debunk that RPers don't hate women and that it's not a hate group, then I'm not sure that was really proven. powerkick definitely outlined a definite tactless constituency. If anything, I think the only way to argue that TRP is a hate group is by saying that TRP hates women as a technicality. TRP hates women because they hate everybody. Some include themselves. They're equal opportunity haters.

I was always told that communism only really ensures everyone is equally poor, not that everyone would necessarily be social equals. The communist tagline may include civic equality, but, in practice, I doubt that an egalitarian society would be produced. I'd personally like to try joining as a neutral participant that plays the token omega Asian guy as an omega Asian guy myself. Mostly, as a cathartic exercise. Nothing to do with self hate and masochism.

So, when I say average, I tend to think, at least at my age, is waking up every morning, shaving, going to work for eight hours, coming home, doing a little bit of exercise (either lifting or running), eating dinner, then spending the last few hours of the day doing some hobby before going to sleep. I make ok money, but nothing spectacular. I spend frugally with the occasional frivolous buy. Have health insurance. Not ripped or fat. A bit of muscle and a bit of flab. Go home for the holidays to …

Doesn't give me much hope as a person striving to be average and low key. If the average person is successful in the sexual marketplace, that would mean that I'm well below average which doesn't feel right. I would think that I'm the pinnacle of average but if being average means not being celibate, then I'm doing a pretty bad job of being average.

That's definitely putting "plate spinning" in a way I hadn't considered. If I understand you correctly, spinning multiple plates is like diversifying investments. One could hedge all his bets on one stock and the payout tends to be highly variable, volatile even. The analogy can be made to dating in that spending all one's time on a simple prospective partner could be unwise, especially without enough research. Since one's resources tends to be finite, diversifying how the resources are spent to…

What do you think of people faking being nice out of fear? Typically, people find that fear is a necessary motivator to temper people's propensities for evil. Reminds me of a True Detective quote: "If the only thing keeping a person decent is the some expectation of divine reward, then brother, that person is a piece of shit."

I tore my ACL in high school. Even after reconstruction surgery, my knee grinds together when I try to do any strenuous outdoor activities. Hurts a lot. As such, I stay in doors most of the time and lose myself in systems analysis of video games and revelry of comic book shows. Working 6 to 2 as a software engineer in the middle of nowhere after graduating with a BS in Computer Science. I'm chomping at the bit to do other things but I never seem to go anywhere.

Y'see, that's one thing I'm trying to resolve about seduction. Unlike making friends, where I think the best course of action is in fact to "be yourself", dating seems to have different expectations regarding the etiquette. I kind of feel that seduction and flirting are kind of expected from both sides and that not doing so is kind of an implicit nod to not play games which then devolves into complete withdrawal. To me, seduction seems to be more like office politics. If I don't make my best eff…

I think seduction in the context of dating is daunting. Even on a date, I have to make myself mysterious and somehow embellish my characteristics in a way to be more attractive? Why can't I just present myself as who I am and let them decide whether or not they want what I have to offer? Seduction is one of those skills that seems to be expected in dating circles that I just have to begrudgingly learn or less face more frequent rejection.

Right, when I said typical answer, I meant typical answer from my parents. They're Chinese and Vietnamese respectively so the attitude is undeniably eastern. I'm just making the observation that marriage as a pragmatic union is still prevalent. Not so much in the States, granted.

I ask my mother and stepfather why they got married all the time. They certainly didn't do it for love I can tell you. They told me. (They could be lying.) The typical answer is that the legal advantages worked out for them and that their goals for being able to afford a nice house with security between two incomes was a good find. My mother also wanted a "man" to lead the house. I've never agreed they were good reasons, but it's a thing.

Isn't the whole point of getting married that both of you really dig each other? Depends. It's ideal to initiate a marriage for love, but I doubt a marriage founded only on love would last too long. Maintaining relationships super long term can be difficult. Having compatible life goals, respect, ability to gracefully compromise on contentious subject, and understanding of the advantages of marriage from a legal standpoint would probably be better premises for marriage.

To be fair, RP materials typically paint women's love as conditional (except for their children) and men's love as unconditional, which I don't actually think is as positive as it sounds. I don't think RP truly makes the objective value proposition that unconditional love is better than conditional love. I would go so far to say that unconditional love can be incredibly harmful. Plus a tad corny.

I think TRP/BP are interesting perspectives on sexual dynamics and strategy. My parents taught me that sexual relationships are transactions, and from what I can gather, seems like a fair appraisal of relationships simply being business. To me, TRP is the "how" to do business under the understanding that the decisions based on doing business can be modeled as a set of discrete decisions. TRP attempts to explores the breadth of all possible decisions and their outcomes without explicitly tacking …

Financial success and control of one's physique are easy in the sense that the outcome of any decisions made depends almost solely on one's personal strength. I'm making steps in those regards. I'd like to think that's not my issue. Social success in the context of dating depends on whether or not the girl I'm hitting on is attracted to me or not. So I try to find a girl I think is attractive. I chat them up and ask them out on a date. They say no. That tells me they aren't attracted to somethin…

Don't you think there would be some indignation to using the term "incel" to describe a person's status as a virgin? I'm "incel" and I do find the term a bit chaffing. I've always considered celibacy to be something a person commits to adhering for usually religious reasons. The involuntary part in "incel" makes it seem like the choice was decided for the person as a testament to their lack of strength of character or ability to navigate interpersonal relations. As for the reasons for being a vi…

I've only skimmed the sidebar post before. Since you've brought it up again, I read the post in detail. After running and filtering my opinion through my head, I've realized that my opinion may be unpopular. All I will say then is that I can see how associating women with being greedy and Machiavellian can lead to the conclusion that women are inferior.

Eh...? I don't particularly claim to be a great logician at any stretch, but I'm not sure you could rigorously make the conclusion that just because the premise that "Women are x, y, and z" is true implies that "Women are immoral, greedy harpies" unless the implication is actually stated. "If a woman is x, y, and z, then that woman is an immoral, greedy harpy." Granted, many terpers will draw the implication anyways based off the premise, but the premise in itself is not damning.

What would happen in this day in age if the social construct built around masculinity to not show vulnerability were less prevalent or no longer existent? I'm afraid my imagination cannot drive the idea further to what that world would eventually look like. Perhaps men will be able to be gain more physical intimacy from other men and women outside of romantic contexts, thus reducing need for physical intimacy in actual romantic contexts. But where does that lead as far as general sexual relation…

The notion that heterosexual men need women more than vice versa seems valid enough (romantically speaking). If the imbalance of need is caused by masculinity, that seems pretty damning for men then since men tend to be masculine, generally speaking. I'm not sure if you think masculinity is a good or a bad thing in this context or just a irreconcilable difference.

Seems like a sorry world to me. Woman chooses to get pregnant. Man has to work to protect her. Woman is a baby maker. Man is a meat shield. Why would anyone want such a reductive world?

I think what you say is reasonable. I've never watched Gilmore Girls so I can't give any further insight to Dean's characterization. However, I must echo certain sentiments about Dean Forester's attractiveness since I'm not sure I would consider the Gilmore Girls character average-looking. If we're using a numerical scale from 1 to 10 with 5 being average, he's not a 5 based off my perhaps jaded experience. Perhaps everyone I know is simply ugly, 4's compared to his 5 at best.

Any narrative disconnects could very well be caused by cultural differences. For game? That's quite possible as well. My mother came from China and the only thing I can get out of her is how much she thinks family is important. She goes on to tell me numerous times that she think the American paradigm centered around individualism will eventually lead to the downfall of American innovation and cultural stability. Go to school. Get a good job. Help your brothers when they're in trouble. Stay conn…

Not Villaintine, but I have a couple of comments of your lines of thought. Is there only one way for a woman to get raped? Why is it easier to teach women how to protect themselves against all forms of rape than it is to teach men about all forms of consent? I think there are only a few true variations of rape that would stand as actual rape which typically amounts to the use of some phallic representation entering some woman's orifices without consent or maybe touching of a woman's forcefully s…

I would like to add recovery and improvement can be difficult. My younger brother also thought of death, and, unfortunately, acted upon several urges due to depression and self-loathing. He luckily, or unluckily depending on your perspective, survived. Even with nearly 9 years of therapy and constant medication, he still has regular bouts of negativity proceeded by hate and doubt of self worth. Doubt in himself, his life, his work, and his goals. Diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia. I question t…

It's probably better to get into a better state of mind first. Existential crises can really get to people. Like you said, things could be worse. You could be three years younger, completely socially inept, fat, and be like your vanilla nerd virgin. Like me. So you still have that going for you. At the very least, I'd like to think that I'm content to wake up and continue the daily work grind. Eat, sleep, work, and repeat.

I don't take any pills. Can I try? I think he needs to evaluate what the relationship really means to him. While I think as bystanders we can say to just breakup, in the end he's the one making the value proposition. He needs to decide whether or not the relationship is still worth the effort. I would ask him to look at himself critically and see if there's anything he could improve without compromising his character. If he's out of shape, start up a regimen to get in shape slowly. If he's not t…

I think inductive reasoning can lead to interesting thought experiments and potentially lead to less risky decision making in regards to people. Let's just say that you need people to help you for whatever reason for some critical job or task. If through inductive reasoning you come to the conclusion that everyone is a virtuous saint, and you act like everyone is caring, responsible, and virtuous, that one jerk that comes along and betrays your trust will take quite a bit of skin off you once he…

My understand in that the redpill thing to do would be to acknowledge that Tolki isn't the best waifu ever, figure out if she's still worth it even after her wrong doing, then do something about it. If she's worth it, then he'd need to communicate that he put a lot of commitment into the relationship they've built and that she burned everything to ashes in a single night. Would you consider the picketing someone who seduced another person in wedlock to be an endeavor of some social or moral imperative? Attempting to involve oneself in other people's marriage seems nosy to me. We can talk and form opinions, sure. But, you wouldn't badger your neighbor if you knew they were implicit in the infidelity of another person's marriage. At most, you'd think of them as a scumbag and go on with your life.

So, there's something that's bothering me about marriage that I've never fully understood. I profess that I'm completely out of sync with the reasons why people would get married, so I hope I don't sound completely crazy. Why would people marry for love? If people love each other and want to be together, what does marriage truly afford them? I've always been taught that marriage is a essentially a financial institution to be able to share resources. That although marrying because of love is idea…
