Short men can get ticked off if a short woman is looking to date a tall man just like women can get ticked off if a fuckboy is looking to date a virgin.

Contribution to the household should be 50/50, if one has a higher paying job then the other one picks up the slack at home. Now if in my household, I bring in more money than my husband or we equally contribute then I’m not going to do more of the household work just because on average men earn more and have more hours. It depends from household to household.

People means the whole society, things like ostracising women for being promiscuous has been so normalized, men are expected to be promiscuous and settle down with a woman who wasn't I don't agree with the hook-up culture for either gender because it has many objective downsides. Women just don't want a scarlet A on their back anymore. If men want someone less promiscuous then they themselves should uphold that standard. I know people have accepted the things that happened in the past but then y…

Yeah but I think we aren't including men in the conversation with that. Men are judged for not being the bread-winner, they are judged for having emotions and they are judged if they choose to go into certain fields that have been deemed "for women". Both men and women are suffering, women have been more outrightly oppressed in the past centuries and denied human rights (the right to vote, right to their children, right to education). Some men refuse to see that history and what centuries of it …

a man who has been promiscuous in the past also needs to accept that women will be ticked off by that double standard of him wanting a woman who hasn't been promiscuous in the past, no?

I think as women enter the workforce, start fighting for the money they deserve they will also want to be seen as an equal in the marriage unit. For centuries it’s been expected of women to do household tasks, they are realizing that they should have a choice. I think men are having a difficult time adjusting to the change, if a dual earning household where incomes are more or less equal why do women need to do more housework than the man?

In terms of significant differences in maturity so let’s take an extreme of 40-something going after a 19- year old

I’m really happy that you found a great relationship and I really want to get your opinion on something. Would you say that you’re the exception when it comes to age-gap relationships? Because like I’ve always been told that if you ever date someone significantly older then there’s a reason they’re looking for someone young.

Plus I think an older man going for a young girl is becoming a red flag, it could work for short term maybe but I think it rarely goes to long term. The average marriage age gap 2.2 years in North America.

I don’t think this applies to people who see their partner as an equal, if a person knows that their partner is earning more they will want to pick up on a few errands but obviously not all of the errands. I think both parties have to bring value into the others’ life. I think these are things that should be discussed before entering into a marriage. You’re supposed to compromise and support each other, you need to hear each other and listen. You can’t just reinforce what society thinks as norma…

You don’t need to do anything you don’t want to do. No one should need to do anything they don’t want to do.

Okay so do you want women to not depend on men for survival/quality of life?

I mean when it comes to who you want to marry, no one can have an opinion on that. I do hope you find the man you’re looking for and are genuinely happy in that marriage. Women were an essential part of helping the war effort during WW2. Also there is a shortage of physicians in the US, approx 38% of doctors are female with 62% of OB-GYN doctors being female. Both men and women go through the same process of becoming a physician, so if the female doctors were to quit then the space would be take…

I believe both men and women need each other (talking only about a heteronormative relationship here). So how is what you’re saying different from when women say they don’t need a man?

How would you define marriage?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/09/24 05:30 AM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
