State dependent, alimony is paid to the now ex spouse that doesn’t make money or as much money, it generally needs to be a noticeable difference for them to grant it. You will mostly see a higher percentage of woman to get awarded alimony than men, but that is because historically speaking, women were the ones that stayed home for kids while the husband was the bread winner. 3	They be trippin After all the kids are older than 5 and in school, there is really no reason for any parent to not work at all, even if its just part time. Fine, your SO makes enough money that you dont have to, that is YOUR choice not to go back into the work field and prolonging your own career.
